I think the reason why siding with the templars is so hard is because in the end, the Right of Annulment ends up slaughtering a lot of innocent people.  Potentially dangerous innocents, yes, but still.  I haven't seen the cutscene from the templar point of view, so I don't know if it differs at all, but in the end you see big guys in armor cutting down skinny little girls with funny hats.  It's hard to watch.

You do have innocent mages that do surrender to you and Cullen gets to shine some more.
But Orsino is crazier in the templar ending. He kills mages himself to turn into the harvester.

Mmm, Cullen.  Whenever I spoke to him at first, I would look at Anders and say "I hope you're listening.  That's what a proper Anders should sound like."  Then Howden's voice grew on me and now I love them both.

But still: Mmm.  Cullen.

EDIT FOR TOP: This gif is just too adorable

His thought process seems to be going: "Okay, what's going on-WHOA WTF... okay, kinda jealous."

So I just started Act 3. Last time, I refused to pick a side in Meredith and Orsino's argument and the nobles were ambivalent as well. This time, I told Meredith she was right and the crowd was very anti-mage as well. Do these people...actually care what position I take? Posted Image

Uh...you're the Champion.

Of course they care.

My Hawke is not used to this. And there's a difference between being allowed to get into the debate and changing the mind of every nobleman there. Then again, since if I don't pick they don't have a clue that might explain it...

Yeah just think of it like them being Sheep and Hawke's the sheep hearder. They look towards Hawke for direction.

/delurks
Does that make Hawke a shepherd?
No? Anyone? ...I'll head back to my corner of shame now.

Oof, get six hours of sleep and the thread goes up by 15 pages! I'm glad to see that just about everyone has been civil and generally fabulous to each other, though. Thread explosions can be a bit worrying at times!

It's frustrating to read people saying that Sebastian has got it right after the Chantry explosion, and that killing Anders would resolve the issue right there and then. I mean, it might be an immediate resolution to that particular outrage, but it really seems to ignore the overarching point: the problems with the Circles aren't just going to go away because Anders is dead.
You still have to make the choice between Meredith and Orsino, and once news gets out of Kirkwall there will be unrest in other parts of Thedas. Cassandra and Varric have made that clear throughout the entire game. Certainly you could just choose to walk away, but Anders' actions are just part of a chain reaction, a symptom of the greater underlying problems, and the world will still change without Hawke.

Has there been a conversation in this thread already about how you would choose to resolve the issue, how you (or your Hawke) would deal with the dismantling or restructuring of the Circles? If so, could anyone throw me a page number? I don't want to rehash a conversation that you've all already had a dozen times, especially if similar ideas have already been put forward.

Really, the man has got to be an LI for DA3.  He's important in DAII and he got prettier.

But most important: he is now blonde.

That is a serious thing.

“Hello, Hawke. Look at your elf, now back to me, now back at your elf, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped walking around with bare feet and wrote a manifesto, he could act like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a clinic with the man your man could look like. What’s in your hand? Back at me. I have it, it’s a map for that Deep Roads expedition you want. Look again, the map is now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man wears feathered robes. I’m playing the lute.”

Because this got lost in previous pages...

Does anybody know of any free alternatives to Fraps which also record sound? It's driving me up the wall that this isn't as epic as it could be, and I'd like to fix it.
