Oooooh... that would be interesting, but I still think you'd need a core character that followed the whole way through otherwise I could see newcomers to the game getting mightily annoyed.
I'd love to be able to play my rogue Warden Queen with the new game mechanics though, I love how much more fluid it is.

I wonder how they'll bring Anders back into it if you've let him live/ run off with him. I kind of want him to have a massive influence but I can't see that being possible if you've been able to kill him.

(Although on the evil de-bugged rivalmance ending he does say something about Justice rising up from his body which to me at least suggests whilst Anders might be dead, Justice won't be... so he might be around in some form. :s)

Ohh that's how I figured an Anders DLC is possible: If you killed him it's Justice/Vengeance in his corpse if you didn't kill him it's Anders - they have the same lines and do the same things so esentially it's not really like making two different characters - it's just adding an undead look and a booming voice to one of them. ;)

Edit: There you go, top, have some Anders:

To be fair, Alistair looked at a person in a robe with a staff strapped to their back and asked: "Are you a mage?"
Must be the templar training.

Hehehe they don't make stupid templars ^^

Nope. They just make Templars.

When does he say that D: If the warden is the queen?

There are lots of bugs involved in the romance imports, but Warden-Alistair says that if the romanced Warden is still alive.

DA3 companions list:
1) Anders + Pounce
2) Zevran
3) Oghren
4) Alistair
5) Wynne
6) Varric
7) Cullen
8) Nathaniel
9) Jethann
10) Carver

AGREED.  ( I love how Jethann is above Carver)

Jethann is so epic he belongs at the top of the list, however I'm too lazy to reorder them.

As much as I'd like to play my Wardens again, I don't think it will be possible.
There's a chance a good many of them are dead due to the US ending, and even with the Orlesian Warden replacement (and how many people were more attached to that character than their Origins Warden?), you'd have to completely remake the character in the CC.

I'd assume that's why we'll never see the Warden in an NPC role - there's probably no way to import its model into the DA2 engine, and the Warden wasn't voiced. I suppose we could have a hooded/helmeted figure standing there completely silent, but then what would be the point? Not to mention that if the games are set in chronological order, almost a decade has passed, and they'd have to come up with explanations for what they've been up. And that would undoubtedly get players' knickers in a twist. It would be cool if we eventually recieved a letter from the First Warden that alluded to the events of DA:O, hinting that it's our Warden in charge, but again, with such a minor role, what would be the point?

I'd love to play Hawke again and fully expect to in any DA2 DLC or expansions, but I also wouldn't mind terribly if DA3 had a brand new protagonist that maybe grew up listening to tales about the legendary Fereldan Warden and the Champion of Kirkwall, both of whom reshaped history around them. It would be kind of cool to play a new PC who considers our other DA characters their personal heroes. One of my Hawkes already has a crush on Alistair - it would be even more amusing if it was on the Warden herself.

Lol, am I the only one who gives him the fireball spell as soon as I can if only to make his "Choke on a fireball!" battle cry make any kind of sense?

Hehe I agree with you and like your DA3 ideas. I think whatever happens in DA3 it will definitely be the next generation of heros - and the godChild would definitely be a part of it (he's about 10 - 11 years old at the end of DA2 so if DA3 takes place in like 10 years he'll be the perfect age) Also I'm pretty sure the Architect and darkspawn and epic things will be involved again. It's time for some good old saving the world kind of quest.

And as for the warden re-appearing, I suppose they could just give us a character screen to remake him/her or make a brand new one if the Hero of Ferelden died and we don't like our orleisan warden. I've noticed Leliana and Cassandra always say THE WARDEN as opposed to the hero of ferelden or w/e, so technically it could be any warden they're talking about. But I don't know how they'll get around the whole VA thing. Overall I just assume that they're not just teasing us by mentioning the warden and that Hawke disseapeares just like they did - I'm hoping it's more of a hint to what is to come next.

And while we're on the subject, this waiting for DLCs or an expansion with NO NEWS at all is driving me craaazy. I want to know what BW is planning.

Hehehe I was thinking maybe for DA3 they will try two parallel timelines spilt narrative, sort of like the Two Towers, first 11 months of Aragorn Hawke doing stuff and then the same 11 months but of Frodo the Warden running around - and now and then and they interact with the same places and people but never actually meet.

I read this comment just as LotR music was playing on my computer. :wizard:

It seems like it would be hard for them to bring the Warden back in a full game, though. Unless they decide to assign them a VA, which would annoy a lot of people. I could see the Warden being in some expansion or DLC or something maybe, though.

To get on topic, um... if Hawke is Aragorn then would that make Anders Arwen or something? :P

But that would be so sad! I don't think I could cope with corpsey Anders. Posted Image
Okay, can NEVER kill him. It's not like I could anyway, but you know, never if it means there's a possiblity of corpsey Anders/ Justice existing as a possibility in a future game of mine. Will NOT let that happen.  It's gonna take all my will power to rivalmance him for science once it's debugged just to get that kiss at the end.

Thinking ahead for future games, I can see that freeing the mages might have been an awful idea but seeing as it'll end up happening either way I'd rather be actively involved in it.

Edit
I wouldn't mind my warden being voiced - they could just import the voice style you picked (which annoys the knickerweasles off me - "it will be done" *slap* - I don't need you saying that each time I press attack.)

10 years into the mage war... that would make sense to me plot wise. Enough time and space for our characters actions to really take effect, and surely whatever big bad is brewing will have time to gather its forces.

Hahaha oh god the image of Anders wearing Arwen's lovely white lacy dress thing and standing on the little bridge in Rivendell with Hawke will be branded in my head all day xD (OR if you make Fenris Arwen then Anders can wear Eowyn's white lacy dress and be sad about Aragorn not returning her his feelings.)

For some reason I'm also thinking of Legolas with feathery pauldrons... his boots are quite nice too!

@ElleMullineux: Hehehe the way you think makes me happy ^^ I don't know if I have the willpower to rivalmance Anders - maybe if I try and do it without actually do anything bad to mages. Tbh I just find it hard to be extreme - yesterday I wanted to yell at Cullen when he pulled the "mages are not people like me and you" speech and go MAGES SHOULD RULE ARR but couldn't =( I fail at RP

...I think my dog just made Anders cry...

You know the banter where Anders complains that the mabari should behave like a real pet and "ignore him till he wants something and then sit on his head until he gets it?" which ends with Anders sounding the most miserable I've ever heard him, when he says he misses Pounce...

I demand a DLC where we hunt down the bastards responsible for taking his cat!!!

Don't forget Miguel!

In the old thread he got compared to House and Hawkeye Pierce a lot, too. This was before DA2 came out, however, and everyone decided that he was hella girly for some reason.

The only way I can think to do it is to basically only bring him on specific missions where you don't mind earning the rivalry points in those instances. But it's way too much math for me, and I'd miss his healing.
I've got a similiar problem with Fenris, I don't seem able to get him to 100% rivalry. We'll be getting there and then I'll take him on some random mission and suddenly get +10 friendship out of nowhere for no discernable reason. I ended up having to take Orianna in as a slave in an attempt to get his rivalry up but it still wasn't enough. Damn broody-elf making me morally corrupt. Posted Image

Man, how could I forget Miguel. Especially after someone reanimated that gif to have Anders playing the lute. I shall revise my statement to poor DA2 Anders is always a girl. Justice apparently makes him girly. :P

I have a similar problem with Fenris. My canon Hawke is pretty obnoxiously pro-mage, but Fenris is all about her. I get friendship points with him a lot. Either that, or he'll give me a petty +5 rivalry. Hawke will be all, "You're stupid. I love mages. Rar rar rar" and he just doesn't care. I've never taken Orana on as a slave, but I did have to derp out on my last playthrough and ask Marethari to help Merrill fix the mirror. I'm sure Merrill was confused since I was always yelling at her about the mirror.

*sigh* I think Fenris just considers my canon Lady Hawke to be his sword buddy.

So I'm turned on by "girly", hmm? As "Hawkeye Pierce" he wasn't even half that appealing.
Then it's strange I never managed to romance Leliana... it must be the lack of stubble

Re: Fenris rivalry

My Hawke racks it up incredibly quickly, and right from the start. It's weird because conversations will seem like they're going well and then...rivalry. He even flirted with my Hawke, she was nice about it and it netted +10 rivalry. I think he must really look forward to the angry sex.

Haha. That must be it because I only ever manage to get him at 100% rivalry at the very end. I take him with me for most of my pro-maging but he just doesn't seem to care. Then I talk to him, without ever flirting with him, and he's like, "I love you! +20 friendship." I'm generally pretty nice to him but I still go on and on about mages whenever I can and he just doesn't care much if at all. It doesn't help that at the start, the most any of my Hawkes have managed is to get no friendship or rivalry points in that first convo. My canon Hawke always gets a bunch of friendship points in the first talk at the mansion.

I think I just need the option to make out outrageously with Anders in front of Fenris option.

See now I tried being a complete **** to him and he just takes it, so I tried being obnoxiously nice as I thought that might ****** him off, nope. I was pro-mage, and let them go free where-ever possible and meh. Still nothing. I get to about 90%.
And Isabela... don't even get me started. I always lose her at the end of Act2. I think I'm going to have to sleep with her to get her to 50%. Posted Image

Now... if only it could be one giant love-fest with Anders, Hawke, Fenris and Isabela at the same time. That would make me happy. Posted Image

I think  that would make everyone happy :D The amount of happiness would fix the Veil, made Meredith lose her virginity, and turn Justice into the spirit of Love
Or our Hawke would just have foursome with a three hot characters. Let's invite Jethann!

Fenris rivalry  Act1: Let the slavers go, pretty much always. (Danzig, guy in cave with elf-human kid)

Be Pro-Mage: Let Elf-human kid go to the dalish, Tell Thrask you wont tell on him for having an apostate daughter, let the blood mages go/kill thrask:crying:

Be Pro-mage/aggressive in conversations with him. In convo one, tell him beth/your a mage and proud. in gallows convo tell him mages should be free.

These conversations should negate any +friendship you net for flirting with him ;p

In act 2: give him the book, if you're on the rivalry path it'll auto net you + rivalry ;p

At this point you should be at 50% Just make sure you get QB before his personal quest brain fart on the name to much mass effect. ;p

Issy is really easy to friend with out having to sleep with her too. I did it in my last playthrough. Just bring her along when you talk to Gislane and tell him NO YOU DOUCHE. Then bring her along for her quest with Martin. Then be sarcastic with her in all conversations. Kill Crazy-murderer-in-cave yourself for an extra 10+ friendship. Then once you've romanced who you're going to romance, let her finish her joke. Then give her the ship (aka, do bela's quests after you've done the cave-crawl for blackpowder promise.) That'll pull up QB. Just make sure you hit diamond/laughing mask, and not heart. If there's a heartin its place, go diplomatic ;p Bam, Bela frienship with no smexy times.

It's nice to see an elf confirm the DA thing of some elves having unusal coloured eyes...

That and the traditional stereotype that most elves are either loveable-****s or broody hotness. XD
