Hawkespawn

All the Blights are ended only to have the world overrun by Hawkespawn.

EDIT: Argh, top. *looks for something sufficiently gay*

That's when the mods come in handy.
For example there is Kivan Fenris the broody ranger elf with anger management issues.
Do we have a doomsaying elf in Thedas?
Who should be Coran's substitute? Zevran or Jethann?

I just played through Dissent with my Anders-mancing Hawke.
Only to find that, somehow, I'd managed to play through with the Hawke that shot him down (for SCIENCE), and overwritten my regular save.
Which means I have to go back, from the beginning, and do it ALL. OVER. AGAIN.

I'd say Zevran, but Zevran/Hawkespawn makes him a cradlerobber in the extreme.  Unless we use Forgotten Realms rules and he lives for a bazillion years or something.  But still, cradlerobber.

And as for the mods, as much as I love the mods for BG2, some of those guys are even worse than Anders for issues.  Kivan and Xan in particular duke it out for WORST BOYFRIEND EVER.

Oh this thread.

Now every time I see Anders with that staff all I am going to say is "Sneaky ass bastard"

However one kid is fine with me. Like I said a child might calm Justice and Anders in a sense that they want to live and come back to their child. Also Justice seeing some so delicate and innocent, but be what he needs to remember himself again. Who knows. Kids can do wondrous things. Outside of driving you mad when they are crying.

I don't know. It's been my experience that kids rarely "fix" anyone. If you have kids when you have serious emotional problems, you're probably going to raise kids who have serious emotional problems. It goes along with the whole idea that when a relationship falls apart, having a kid will somehow make it better. Usually it just drives people further apart. And when it comes to Anders, I'm not sure if his condition will let him put anyone--even a child--above his cause.

Of course, don't mind me. I'm bitter and jaded well beyond my years on account of my own upbringing/experiences.

Definitly Jethann
And Zevran as a Haer'dalis - shame there wasn't any mod to romance him

No, no, you're absolutely right.  Supported by science and everything.

On the other hand for Anders specifically, protecting a child is a pretty strong genetic imperative in human beings.  The things parents will do on behalf of their children are incredible, as are the ends they're willing to go to to protect them.  Protecting children is an even stronger evolutionary drive than self-preservation, possibly strong enough to overcome Justice's fanaticism.

I know.
Kivan spends half his time going on about his dead wife... and the bit with Tazok's heart... Kivan, can't you pick any more... hygenic things to keep as souveneirs?
And then there's the last conversation at the end of the game... :?

As for Xan.
He taught me that I am a masochist.
Anders has nothing on Xan. NOTHING.

LOL.  Are you talking about the Master Wraith for Kivan?  Because that was where I screamed at my computer and just about put my foot through it.  I wish I'd had the option to murder his sorry ass right there.

Say what you will about Anders, he never a) treats you like a replacement goldfish all romance long or B) dumps, then emotionally abuses you for half the game.  These boys make Anders McCrazypants look like a sane, stable, responsible guy.

Ah Haer'dalis... the bard with a bird-obsession from the Donut on a Stick Sigil
Merrill - Aerie?
Sebastian - Anoymen Anomen
Isabela - Safana?
Aveline - Jaheira or Branwen

hahahaha yeah that's not going to happen. More likely, it will just make him even more paranoid and delusional once he also has to worry about the wellbeing of a defenseless child that half of Thedas will either want to revenge-murder or hold hostage for leverage over its parents, assuming it doesn't die of malnourishment on its own.

This.

Edit: and it's not just experience. There's a fair amount of child development research that indicates this is the case.

As for Anders, I feel like having a kid would just throw him further into the downwards spiral of THE CAUSE so that he can be free with his family. Especially if his woman is also a mage. Especially especially if his woman and his child are both mages.

Nothing in the vanilla game.

In the fan-made mod romance, everything from dying rather than risk his skin to stay with you, dumping and then emotionally abusing you, waffling to rival Sebastian...take your pick :?

Kivan had no excuse at that moment.
For Gods' sake, even XAN showed backbone at that moment!!!

I know... The spineless little coward quite literally destroys your poor Bhaalspawn's heart... even on the other route. (No wonder Anders never fazed me.)
Yet Xan remains my second favourite romance ever...

What is wrong with me!?

Uh, yeah. This.

All Anders needs is yet another trigger to force Justice further into Vengeance.

And I'd feel absolutely horrible for any kid that'd have to be raised by either: Hawke, Anders or Fenris.

In the mod?
Either he constantly makes you depressed, refuses to cheer up and then later rips your heart out, repeatedly stabs it, mutilates it, sets fire to it... ...feeds the remains to rabid worgs, and throws it into the Abyss.

And I still took him back. *facepalm*

The other route is... even worse. :crying:

Seriously.  After Kivan and Xan...Anders does his whole "I'll hurt you" thing, and I'm just like, "Meh, I've had worse."
