...er. Kirkwall. oh screw it, I've said it before and I'll say it again: They're the same thing.

Who's Pyramid Head!?!

I suppose it depends on who's hell it is, right? So uh...Hawke, right? Since he is the manifestation of James' perversions, to put it simply, then Kirkwall!Phead would be the manifestation of Hawke's...

Maybe I'm getting too deep into this. How about Meredith and her lyrium sword? ;)

I'm pretty sure Izzy's infertile. At least that was the vibe I got from her while giving her the Rivaini talisman.

Isn't that exactly what the whole game slaps you in the face for thinking?

Depends. Not with Izzy, Merrill, Bethany, Carver or Fenris.

Only with Anders does it slap you in the face.

Wynne explicitly mentions contraception in a banter, so.

After losing Bethany, my Hawke's big sister overprotective tendencies came out toward Orana and Merrill.  Especially Orana; my Hawke was like a mom to her.  It killed her to send Orana away after DA2's clusterf*** finale.

No, she has the kinds of VD that cause infertility. *facepalm*

I don't know. There's also Quentin's whole "Do you know what the most powerful force in the universe is? Love." In another story, that's something you'd hear from a hero, not the worst villain in the whole damn city.

...I'm just going to refuse Hawke's rights to a family forever after.
It would appear Izzy may be infertile.
Anders is off his rocker (last we saw)
Fenris wouldn't react well to mage children.
After the Mirror stunt, I would never allow any children within five feet of Merrill. Ever. Sorry, Daisy.

Hawke should marry Varric, then there are no chances of mage babies! *shot* :D

Typically you need to have sex before you contract an STI. Many times, normally.

I didn't even think of that.

Apparently after "The road to hell is paved with good intentions," the moral of the DA franchise is, "Love sucks.  Don't do it."

Oh? I never listened to a word Wynne said.
It mostly came out as "blah blah blah. Listen to me going on like I'm the most knowledgeable woman on the face of Thedas when in fact I spent most of my life in a bloody tower."

That aside, I quite like her.
Especially when taking her across the bridge in Orzamar with Zev in the party.

I don't think it does - your love for him doesn't stop him doing what he needs to (and I don't disagree with blowing up the chantry. I think it needed to happen) - But your love gives him a chance at redemption - you can spare him at the end which is equal parts cruel and lovely. Now whether you spare him to have him side with the templars, or you spare him to fight in the war that he started is players choice, but either way he is given the chance to atone rather than disappear into history as a martyr.

I think the game (Quentin/ Keeper Momma lady - can't remember her name) shows the extremes that love will take you to, just Anders shows you the extremes that Justice can take you to. I quite enjoyed having my anti-blood magic Hawke turn to Gascard's blood magic to find her mother as an expression of the extremes that she'd go to for love.

I love hearing it from heros and villians alike. I dislike stories where villians aren't capable of understanding how unhealthy and damaging love can sometimes be. (as well as how useful it can be to themselves).

The only time I ever felt punished for going along with something out of love was with Anders. Everywhere else it was fine. Love mkes Carver stand against Meredith, You can reunite with Bethany and that's the first thing she says, your mother lives long enough to tell you she loves you (you can't save her but that was more poor timing than love), and so on.

Isabela's character has more sex than even I can imagine (and I can imagine quite a bit.). Not sure Anders magical treatments can heal her of everything. I think she would definitely suffer from STI...in my head, anyway.

Quentin's comment on love being the most powerful force in the universe is the sort of overarching premise of my fic. I firmly believe he is right too. But yes, the game did seem to be about extremes and the dangers of extremes of emotion or ideals.

I disagree with blowing up the Chantry so for me I spent the whole game trying and trying to help him. On the rivalry path your love doesn't help him get rid of Vengeance. It doesn't stop him from blowing up the Chantry.

He even says as much. Skip to 2:25

No matter how much he loves Hawke he can't control himself. He thought it would help but it didn't. It couldn't. Not sure about the friendship path because I don't play that so often. But I don't see that as redemption as much as letting him get whathe wanted. Either way he gets what he wants. A war. I doubt Justice will let Anders sit idly by on the sidelines. Especially not when his first scheme went off so well. (Assumming you side with the mages since if you side with the templars you're forced to kill him well...currently anyway.)

I would've preferred becoming a serial killer personally. That would've felt impactful. As it is now I don't even bother with the blood ritual. Leads to the same point anyway.

Alistair: So you... mentioned you had a son? What happened to him?
Wynne: I honestly don't know, Alistair. He was... taken from me. Such births are seldom, as there are ways to prevent it, but it does happen. And any child born to a Circle mage belongs to the Chantry.
Alistair: I... didn't know. I'm sorry.
Wynne: It's all right. It was a long time ago. A very long time ago.
Alistair: Couldn't you do something about it?
Wynne: Do what? I was weak from the birthing process and there were... no, there was nothing I could do.
Alistair: Do you think about him?
Wynne: All the time.

If she weren't using contraception she probably would have become pregnant before she could contract any STIs serious enough to render her infertile in the first place, if she isn't infertile for other reasons. She also lives in a world with magic healing, and is explicitly shown getting an infection dealt with (read: she exercises some amount of responsibility instead of racking up infections and spreading them), so I seriously doubt she's actually the smorgasbord of disease that people seem to want to believe people who like sex are.

True.  That thin Veil has got to be murder on all those mages.  The Chantry is full of idiots.  Let's put a Cicle in a place where the Veil is almost nonexistent.  Freaking brilliant,

In the friendship path you don't get the stuff about the blackouts so I presume they're from Justice assuming direct control because Hawke has spent years berrating him on the rivalmance path. Which is one of the reasons I'd find it very hard to rivalmance him. He's not the original person any more, he's become something greater than that. And friendmanced he is more in control and guided. I'd rather Anders know what he was doing, know that it would have terrible consequences and be able to reconcile himself with that - than be having blackouts and losing control to Justice on a more regular basis. On the rivalmance path I'd worry that eventually he'd become an full blown ugly shuffling abomination. :(
