He just looks generally handsom-er with the renegade coat. I swear BW is toying with our minds and actually changed his model and face slightly to make him more attractive once he gets it.

Later today I shall take some screencaps to prove it.

And as for his hands, now that I'm (sort of) over staring at his eyes/lips/nose/chin/butt/arms/hair/boots/pauldrons I find myself staring at his hands and finger - they're all shapely and long. Mmm fingers are importaint

Edit: Oh crap, every time I make a stupid uninteresting post I get the top, I'll got get  a picture

Re: Hands
I think we forget how large hands are IRL. It all looks in proportion to me.

As for being handsomer once he's got the renegade coat I put it down to him coming to peace with his purpose (I know, I know you get it on the rivalmanced path as well, but this is my headcanon Posted Image) He just generally looks calmer and more at ease. Posted Image

Also the slight round-belly-over-belt thing is gone, it's like the renegade coat is tighter and gives him a smaller waist and broader shoulders rrawr ;)

What I want to know is where does he get it? Its not like he has a ton of money, he can't just go out and buy an expensive set of robes, can he? Does he dye it himself? Go to a tailor and get it done? Get Varric or Hawke to pay for it?

I reckon Hawke bought it years ago,  but he didn't wear it until his old ones finally fell apart, probably due to the bomb making. ^_^

This.

In my head, he actually has other clothes. Not a lot of other clothes, but he's not always in the coat and pauldrons. The black version is probably what he considers formal wear for stuff like parties, weddings, acts of terrorism. That sort of thing.

Hmmmm broader shoulders... maybe the pauldrons just aren't slipping back over his shoulders now that he's done the jacket up properly?

You can see it now...Hawke is trying to calm down Meredith and Orsino, and in strolls Anders in black.
Hawke: What are you all dressed up for?  You never wear those unless it's a special occasion *narrows eyes* Anders....what did you do?

(and yes, I know he has them before that)

This is totally off-topic but since this is where it first came up...would it be crazy stupid to download and play Mass Effect 2 since I can get it free, or should I shell out the money for ME1 first?

I've followed the FAQ, but I can't get the bloody network to upload any of my characters from my game profile. Is there something buggy going on?

Bringing this back on topic nao...andersbutt? Also....he looks sooooo much better in black. Since we know that Anders always loved you, he clearly "borrowed" some of Hawke's Deep Roads fortune to buy the black outfit, for the purpose of wooing.

@Silfren, you'll be fine diving in at ME2. It won't have any major effect at this stage. Then if you like the game you can pay foe ME1 and get the choices that should filter through to ME3.

I can imagine Hawke buying Anders pretty things but he keeps refusing to wear them, until the end that is >:)

Get ME2 while it's free then wait to play it until you've played the first one

LOL, well, that's what I get for waffling, I suppose. The Mass Effect 2 free promo offer expired at the end of April. So I guess I'll have to consider buying it at some point. Ah well.

I blame Justice.  When Justice is accidentally imported into Kristoff's body, it is into black armor. My head cannon says all black made Vengence calmer during the inner celebration (bomb completion). ^_^

I dunno, I guess my friends like fluffy 'happily-ever-after' types without all that other stuff.
