This means that Anders and femHawke would be able to wear each other's clothes.  My teeth hurt from the adorable

I know in-game models are limiting, but I've always pictured my femHawke as quite a tall woman, easily as tall as her brother.

Well, their arms are like, the same size xD I dunno about the rest of their wardrobe (well maybe pants since Anders is hipless and assless >.>), unless Hawke wants to make constant trips to the tailor.

LOL.  Anders is on the skinnier side.  And for my Hawke at least, I picture her as a pretty athletic lady, more of a runner's build.  Blood mages have high constitution

Meh.  If Anders wants to look pretty and be festooned in ruffles, he can raid f!Hawke or M!Hawke's wardrobe whenever he likes.  Everyone else is doing it, why not him?

EDIT:  Appropriate for ToP, I think.

The fact that Merrill is above Anders in the facebook poll is an injustice.

Oh man, Andersbutt AND Jethann/m!Hawke in the same day? Totally makes up for a frustrating day, and not the fun kind either.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie]

We all have to agree that putting Varric on the poll was inherently unfair. We all know that everyone loves Varric way too damn much. They should have put Fenris in instead of Varric and the numbers would be much closer IMO.

Yeah, not to mention Varric is taking the votes of who wanted to vote Origins characters or Fenris (I saw someone who wanted Fenris voting Anders in the end, but it was like 2-3 people). I didn't expect so many votes for Isabela to be honest, I thought she was more or less on par with the others, but I guess her humor wins.
Edit: the heck, Merril had a boom of votes right now O.O She is catching Isabela

That said, one comment made me O_O
"I liked them all until suddenly I was standing in the bedroom with Anders with my male character... Awkward moment and never really liked him afterwards xD"

How can you "suddenly" have Anders in your bedroom.
Me wants too.

Some people, really...this is even worst than the "Zevran jumped on me" story >.>

Exactly!

I have a thing for Anders raiding Hawke's closet:

Hawke has such a tender smile in that picture

I looked into some other forums and the the Anders hate with recent events are getting worse. So war torn I came here to bath in the love and the gay to find new strength.

I also retain my statement if this game released before 9/11 more then half of this hate would even exist.

*g*  Go easy on the politics.  I agree with your sentiment (and I'm the sort of person who makes horribly off-color jokes about terrorism IRL because I believe laughter and ridicule are the best antidote to hate), but you'll find a lot of people who get off on being offended on the BSN.

Besides, I agree with David Gaider.  A character is a good character if it inspires strong emotion, either positive or negative.  Better a polarizing character than a "meh" generically nice one.

Hah, like that person on deviantart the other day saying that now that Osama is dead we have to carry out video game justice and kill Anders too.... it was hilarious and kind of disturbing. Video games are not the real world, no matter the parallels.

I still think that if blowing up the chantry were a player quest then most of  the Andershate wouldn't exist

I agree.  It's more about players throwing a hissy fit over loss of player agency than it is about what Anders actually does.

Not that losing player agency is a good thing, but it has to happen from time to time to advance the plot.

Yeah I saw that.  I don't mean to get into politics, I normally stay out.  But I think what upsets me the most isn't that people hate Anders all are entitled to how they feel.  But before 9/11 most people didn't know who Oasama was and now they are comparing Anders to him? I mean if this happened prior I really believe his backlash would be less is all.

Of course I think my American cam out in force at the end of the game, so all I could think about was fighting for life, liberty and justice.  I was sold.  My German grandmother would be proud lol.

To make up for this post I give you all Anders amd Justice!!!

I...no. Anders is a fictional character who killed a bunch of pixel-people. We don't need to carry out video game justice. We can, but it's not a necessity. It's a video game. Nobody actually died. Now I'm not saying that we shouldn't draw parallels or let what we've experienced colour our views of how to play the game. What I'm saying is that sometimes we have to step back and assess how much we're getting fiction twisted with reality.

Having said that I'd much rather someone bring their reality into a video game than have someone bring their video game into reality.

When I read things like that I kinda fear for the future.

LOL good point people did seem upset that the companions this time around had lives and personalities.  That they were going to things with or without you.

I loved it I felt more connected to them, because there weren't mindless?

I don't get why some people get so riled up about killing Anders lol.

You can kill him and move on. The option is right there. Just the push of a button.
The "I SHOUDL BE ABLE TO MAKE HIM TRANQUIL AND MAKE HUM SUFFER MOAR LOLOL" creeps me out, assuming you can tranquil him. Beyond the fact he wouldn't suffer because he just wouldn't care anyways after that! :o

And Beyond the fact that he totally wants to be killed.
He basically agrees with whoever wants to kill him, he deserves it and it is justice. So go on haters, kill him...but don't go around boasting about it...he wanted it too...somehow he won anyway.

@Batteries I agree. The game gives people who hate him a perfect out - kill him! The fact that people are so riled up about it makes me go "huh?"

But but the game doesn't give the choice to kill him before the chantry blows up! Bioware IS TAKING MY CHOICE AWAY.

I don't get it.

Hm...probably they wanted the game to go like this

Anders come up, whispers Hawke he planted a bomb in the Chantry.
Then they can decide to kill him, or not.
Then they can decide if they want the bomb to explode, or not.

Even better, Anders should tell him that he planted two bombs, one in the Chantry and one at the Circle.
Because something at that point has to blow up.
Like someone said, there wouldn't be so much hate if the player had the choice.

I know I'm still butthurt over BioWare not letting the Warden/Shepard throw their hands up, say "F**k it" and let Ferelden/the galaxy get destroyed and overrun by the Archdemon and darkspawn/the Reapers.

HOW DARE THEY  TAKE CHOICE AWAY FROM MEEEEEEEeeee

Lol. I guess it's okay when you get to be the Big Goddamn Hero? Meh.

To be honest there's a lot of general Anders hate, including but not restricted to, the Chantry fireworks and issues of choice that I just don't get, "Argh Anders blew up the Chantry and all I could do was carry out the ultimate punishment and kill him", "Anders came on to me after I picked the flirty golden heart of clearly platonic and non sexual love, what gives?" , "All Anders does is talk about mages and justice dang he's like a man possessed or something"

Undoubtedly, and the poor Warden, well I think they are allowed to have a one time "massacre the **** out of the powers that be" with no repercussions...not like that woulda have stopped Isani Surana but still..B)

Eh, this is, to a point, the only complaint I can understand.
But it is the exact same thing I could complain about Fenris. Mages and anger, always that.

I would have like so much to talk with Anders about kittens, the Wardens, Amaranthine, how cold was Lake Calenhad....we are both Fereldens too, I felt it could be a strong point of connection.
But no, every character was a bit single-minded, possessed or not.

But this is more a flaw of the dialogue system than of Anders. I can of course imagine that in 6 years or so, they talked about it...but still, would have been nice, like in Origins, to have your companion to chitchat to while in the camp. Even repeating the same conversations, really, maybe to try out different choices on the wheel...

Hahahaha this, totally this. Anders and his characteristics are controversial,
apparently, because they differ from the commonly accepted “safe” qualities
a game character should posses. The emotional impact he’s had on people is
remarkable, he’s definitely shaken lots of people off their internet apathy
(like me) and made us discuss moral and social issues endlessly. He’s a
revolution in himself just for being an openly bisexual character and coming
onto the player. I just love everything about him rl AND in game
