Awwww.... waitaminute. That expression looks like the one he has after you break up with him post-sex. Or am I just imagining things? :?

@ElleMullineux wow, well said. The Tactician/Naive summary is defiantly how i viewed Ander's actions the first time around. You kind of explained it all perfectly

I got myself upset a bit reading the internet hate against Anders on other threads - they just don't understand. And they argue like 5 yr olds having a tantrum. I'd hoped seeing as you have to be 18 to own the game (in the UK anyway) that the people posting would have the ability to say something other than "ewwww -gay", or "zomg Anders is teh evvvviiillll." It's so hard being an optimist sometimes. Posted Image

Hmm, kitten carrier spikes seem be a bit of an issue when it comes to kissing.

I admit, I did it, but only once. It was for SCIENCE! It crushed my little heart, and after taking the screenshot I swore I would never do it again.

I'm so sorry Anders! I love you!

"You're...you're breaking up with me?" *Wibble*

"No! I didn't mean it!"

For the evil of such an act, I offer LoveSick!Anders.

Edit: You know, I think Anders has the most powerful wibble I've ever seen.

I don't know whether it's sadder that he's still adorbs while having his heart crushed, or that I can pick out that scene via a single pouty screenshot.

I'm building Anders to be a primary healer and party support mage. Bethany is my group's source of magical DPS. *shrug* It's a necessary role. Two mages, a tank, and a rogue leads to pure win. :) And I'm playing the game on "Hard".

Elle I could hug you!  That post was everything I felt!  I just could never type it as well.

It also made me think of how my grandmother explained things like what Anders did to the Chantry.  I was really starting to think her lessons warpped my ability to see things to most people.

The short by Grandmother Weilschmidt:
"When the war first started he seemed like a good man.  He was going to save our home from the hell it was in.  And in truth he did.  We thought he was right, he was fighting for us, for our rights.  He wasn't but we didn't see that at first.  It took some longer then others, but we saw it.  Your gandfather paid for it."

"Then there is America.  I am sure when this young nation told the British to leave and took action, they did not see actions taken as a happy song.  They saw acts against their country and their people.  America wanted freedom and was willing to do anything for it, and they did.  Now everyone wants to be here, even me!"

"Remember, when you see things you can't always see if it is for the greater good of things, maybe they never are.  But try to look for the Hitlers and Washingtons, but most all don't doubt what you believe."

Yeah my rolemodel is my oma is the best ^_^....well I think so.

She didn't, I promise. I just think Anders is the thinking gamers hottie. Posted Image

The way people are reacting I honestly hope that letting Anders live has a massive boon to any future game, (like the Racchni from ME1 is insinuated). I'd been safely cocooned in my little pro-Anders world until late last night and the amount of vitriol against him staggered me. I mean I know he's complex and difficult, but I didn't see him as intrinsicly worse than any of the other characters. I mean, honestly, Isabela basically causes the Qunari invasion. But she has ****** and is ****ty so that's okay? Posted Image

Yeah I don't even venture outside the Anders thread anymore. It's not worth the headache trying to slog through all of the Anders hate. Some of the posts can be an amusing read, but it gets tiring after a while.

Yeah, I don't look at much outside character threads and peeking in on topics people I like post in. I mean, I don't really like participating in arguments much and I know why people dislike Anders and his actions (doesn't take a genius realize it) but... I see no point in wading through the muck for no good reason, especially when a lot of it is blind RAEG. I get no satisfaction from it so I just don't bother.

Really I think they are just getting less intelligent(in my eyes) which is sad because they were bad to start off with.  I don't care if someone hates a character, I hated Morrigan...only because I had to get her drunk as the joke goes, to like me.  But I would never argue this with someone.

Anders who deal I feel people forgot it was a game.  That Thedas isn't our world.  Maybe it is me too, but I sort of saw mages as well tired Lutherns with the Catholic church. (funny note for those who might get it.  My mother a Luthern married a Catholic. ^_^)  or America wanting to be free. Or even blacks fighting for freedom from slavery.  But again my personal opinion.

What I think happened with them is simple and it goes like this.

Get DA2
Rush through game to see ending cliffhanger you know is there
while speeding through skip Anders dialogue because you are butt hurt with the changes.
Chantry gets redone
You FFFFFUUUU and hate him
Replay game and don't even bother listening to him like the others...your lack of listening proves you are right.

^^ This exactly. If they were capable of reason it might be interesting to engage in a bit of internet banter. But they (broadsweeping generalisation approaching) all take it far too personally and far too seriously.

Only Anders could do this to a person. Posted Image

Clearly the Champion of Kirkwall is pondering some very important matters!

All three is the answer of course.

He's a great problem solver, it's why everyone bugs him to solve theirs all the time!

Definitely all three, you get to pig out on baked goods then get an extremely enjoyable workout afterward. Win/win.

@ElleMullineux Aww your post about Anders totally made my morning! ^^ (LATE morning *cough*) I don't think I've read anything that summarises how I feel about him better. And I do hope whoever kept Anders alive gets something imba for the next game/expansion.
And that Anders picture is SOOOO cute! ^^ Now, with the risk of sounding like an idiot, what IS that red logo thing he's painting?  Does it stand for mages or the friends of kirkwall or...? I really don't know =X
