I think this one will always be one of my favorite shots even though it's not even from the game itself

On a side note I noticed something, why are most people who played DAO and DA2 treating the whole game as if it was "black" and "white" instead of the grey which made the games so good? These are the same people who of course hate Anders outright and never let him live in a playthough and scream "terrorist" at every opportunity.

Or am I just being overly sensitive for my fictional boo?

No I completely agree.  However I think this play on how strong everyone believes in the opinions.

For example in DAO I never let Loghain(?) live.  I hated him, and I always was selfish and killed him myself.  Granted I could see what they were going for and thought it was nice, and I loved the character because I hadn't hated a character like that in a long time.  Well until Meredeth.

There will always be people that hate on (one of) the most popular male love interests in games like these. Chances are that most of the people that feel the need to trumpet their own personal hatred of a character are insecure teenage or early-20 males that feel threatened by a male character that is beloved by a large number of female fans. For an example, look at Alistair.

Anders romance question here.

If Hawke refuses to cause a distraction at the Chantry then... a.) Does Anders blow up the Chantry anyway? b.) Does he break up with Hawke?

And if he breaks up with Hawke, is there a chance for them to get back together later? My Hawke wouldn't go through with his plan without knowing what exactly it is, especially considering he lied to her about the potion. (Which is unfortunate because if she knew what he was up to, she would totally assist him. She's all for mage freedom and no fan of the Chantry. And her scruples are questionable at best.) But I don't want to end the romance for good.

I know he blows up the Chantry no matter what you do. I believe on my rivalmance play I refused to distract Elthina and nothing changed except the part where he accused me of supporting the Templars and the Chantry. I hate that part!

I wonder who has been romanced more between Fenris and Anders? I'd imagine it's logical to say that the most romanced would probably be Isabela followed by Merrill. I think Anders probably ended up with more m/m romances than Fenris has though.

For question one.  Yes that is is the end no matter what you do.
Question two.  No he doesn't break up with you.  Just gets really pissy.  You still get the lovely end dialouge

I think between the boys.  Ander started with the most, but after the ending Fenris got a massive boost.  Also I think he started strong because of his "anime" look honestly.

Just judging by polls I've seen on the BSN and on other comms, also by the number of fics on various archives, it seems that Fenris is the more popular m/m pairing. Hard to say about f/m pairing though, I think they're about equal.

Nope, not wrong. One of the overarching themes is that "There is no right answer." Or maybe more "All answers are wrong. Give up trying to win. You won't." (not heartbroken in the slightest thank you very much). That's the point. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and the nice guy often finishes last. But a lot of people don't want that for whatever reason. Maybe it's because we have so little certainty in our world, and they want some in an imaginary world?

As for Loghain, I spared him with my Amell Warden. Mostly because the way I RP'd her was super-compromise girl! I promised Anora that I'd do my best not to hurt him, Anora kept her end of the bargain, and I've been given a way to keep mine. On top of that the Warden who joined with my dead commander is hinting heavily that we should take him. Considering all the secrets Wardens keep, there's probably a reason for that. So...recruited. Amell Warden also had a relationship with Zev instead of Alistair, which helped a great deal in the marry the two warring factions together super-compromise plan.

*Shrugs* It depends on the character I suppose.

He always blows it up. Not sure about the breakup.

Thanks. Also, should I save this quest for the end of Act III?

Ah yes, I'm pretty sure of it.
I still think Fenris' concept is one of a Lady Killer. Granted, not all ladies like that, but I think they had this idea in mind, and Varric confirmed it too through the game xD

a) Yes he will find some other way to do it.
B) I'm not sure to be honest, I guess not? You should still have the dialogue in the gallows? But just wait for someone who actually did it :)

Leave the quest for last doesn't change anything as far as I know.
It makes for sense in the story progression, I save it for last too but...it doesn't change anything

Stupid S key I noticed I spelt Anders wrong!

It doesn't matter when you do it. I always do companion quests first lol.  I love them to much.

I don't know how reliable using fanfiction or polls on this site would be though. In Mass Effect 2 Miranda was the most romanced with about a 43% followed by Tali, but all the polls on this site started removing Tali from their selections because she always won. Her thread was effin huge too compared to Miranda's.

The only time I let Loghain live was to get the achievement.  Then Alistair made me cry even though I was going to feed the wannabe king to the Archdemon and tell everyone a hurlock killed him while Warden Alistair and I rode off into the sunset.  Then Drunk!Alistair in DA2 made me cry.  I can't take that again.  :crying:

I think this thread is the stronghold of FabulAnders.  Most of what I read elsewhere for M/M is Fenris/M!Hawke or Fenders.  Or Anders being abused by gay Templars, it seems.  :(

She refused to help him. No angry breakup or anything (phew!). Just an angsty comment about how alone he feels. And he's still living in the Hawke Estate. Now I'm just waiting for the Chantry to go kaplooey!

Well, I'm glad for the amount of m!Hawke/Anders fics floating around regardless and there IS quite a bit as opposed to how little m/m stuff there was in DAO.

Apparently we don't travel in the same fanfic circles.  :D  But now that I think about it most of the art I see is M/M for Anders (with or without Fenris).  I wonder what that means (if anything).  I must stop speaking parenthetically.  <_<

I mostly hangout at the kinkmeme to get my Anders/m!Hawke fic fixes. Where do you go?

As far m/m art, I tend to see an overwhelmingly large amount of Fenris/m!Hawke stuff.

Ya see I never exiled Alistair. That was the sunshine and roses playthrough: Alistair and Anora are married and don't mind each other, Loghain killed the archdemon and redeemed himself by dying, Super-compromise Amell asked for the circle to be freed and decided to continue being a Grey Warden while killing things which need killing with Zev. She went to Amaranthine, was BFF's with everyone (including Velanna), spared the city, killed the Architect and everyone lived happily ever after. Until she left and it all went to pieces, and Anders ran away to become the abomination we know and mostly love.

Then Anders met her cousin rogue!Hawke in Kirkwall, beginning a massive codependent downwards spiral which culminated in the Chantry in pieces and Amell facepalming.

When I first let Loghain live on my CE FemDW/Warrior who romanced Zev, I was fully expecting to service him up as ArchDemon chow...but I got to know the bastard, and he kinda wormed his way into my affections (more like plowed), and now I can barely not spare him whenever I go to the LM.  Those last lines he gives Anora :

"Daughters never grow up, Anora. They remain six years old with pig
tails and skinned knees forever. Just make it quick, Warden. I can face
the Maker, knowing Ferelden is in your hands."

Always, ALWAYS tug at me. I almost didn't kill him my first playthrough because of those lines.

Though I really doubt, due to current events and happenings of the past decade in the real world, Anders character will ever be considered like Loghain. Given the "hate" because of the endgame actions.

And really if the Templars used this kind of trap on Anders, he probably would have been caught.
