You can let Loghain live without Alistair freaking out and running off to The Hanged Man for the next two years?  But the price is letting Anora keep the throne?  [ponders]  Tough one...I really hate Anora.

Edit: Anders, OTOH, I love to squishy little bits.

Hahahaha. That probably would have caught Anders. It also makes me imagine the Templars setting up a box held up by a stick with a string attached to it. Put a kitten under it and you've got one trapped Anders. Or possibly just a hungry refugee.

When I first let Loghain live on my CE FemDW/Warrior who romanced Zev, I was fully expecting to service him up as ArchDemon chow...but I got to know the bastard, and he kinda wormed his way into my affections (more like plowed), and now I can barely not spare him whenever I go to the LM.  Those last lines he gives Anora :

"Daughters never grow up, Anora. They remain six years old with pig
tails and skinned knees forever. Just make it quick, Warden. I can face
the Maker, knowing Ferelden is in your hands."

Always, ALWAYS tug at me. I almost didn't kill him my first playthrough because of those lines.

Though I really doubt, due to current events and happenings of the past decade in the real world, Anders character will ever be considered like Loghain. Given the "hate" because of the endgame actions.


And really if the Templars used this kind of trap on Anders, he probably would have been caught.

No kidding.  Good thing Templars in Kirkwall are stupid.

I only ever did this with a hardened Alistair but...You make the arrangment between Anora and Alistair beforehand, they agree to marry. Then you say, why yes, I will spare Loghain's life. Then Alistair gets all pissy, Anora gets all pissy, and you say STFU you agreed to get married. And they STFU and get married. Alistair realizes she's not so bad, Anora realizes he would make a half decent ruler, and they end up power-sharing and having a pretty decent relationship for a political marriage.

And Anora can be a manipulative b***h, but she's not entirely unlikeable, she cries when she asks about how her father died if you feed him to the archdemon. It's sweet, in a horribly depressing way.

I'm also a fan of non-mage!Hawke/Anders. I lean towards rogues in my playthroughs, but that's more of a game mechanics thing than a pairing preference. One of these days I'll get around to making a Mage-freedom Templar!Hawke just for Anders. One of these days.

Tragic backstory, that adds to angst, best part it isn't rivalmance it is friendmance.  Justice is active in it too.  As I have him talking to Ander in his mind.  Also she fears mages she doesn't know,

No it is friendship.  I like to think they will both help eachother with thier fears and problems. It is tragedy, Angst, and sweet love all in one!

I haven't posted the request as the threads were closed to new ones last time I was there.  I'll check again.  I got this scene in my head and I just can't make it...hot enough at the right moment.

I tend to view that as "alternate universes" thing, it can fit when doing multiple playthroughs.

I'd think it's also easier to accept in DA2 actually, given how the Hawke family doesn't have single fixed appearance and people don't go all "wtf black Bethany isn't Bethany anymore".
