I'm just waking up so apologies if this one has been mentioned and I just missed in my pre-coffee haze. I'm replaying right now and I just completed All That Remains. Obviously his comfort scene is one of my favorite moments in the game (he seriously is the most understanding of any of the LIs, he doesn't get upset if you lash out angrily, and he really is there for whatever Hawke needs). But he also has a few lines at Quentin's hideout itself if you bring him along, notably when Leandra's dying in Hawke's arm. Unlike Merrill, who has to ask Anders if he can save Pol, Anders just appears behind Hawke to tell him there's nothing he can do, and he sounds heartbroken about it. It's a great moment all around.

And as Elle mentioned, the quest with Ketojan is my other favorite mission. I love taking it on as a mage, then telling Arvarad exactly what I am. Anders pops in with a strong sentiment of solidarity and the Qunari's face is priceless. But I can't not try to make Ketojan accept freedom. Even knowing the inevitability of the outcome, I have to try. (One of these days it's work, dammit!)

Completely unrelated but @highcastle I finally got around to reading your fic yesterday. You wrote everything I wanted to happen And Bioware should hire you to write non-cheesy dialogue for them

I've never played Diplomatic Hawke before. I'm doing a sweet, female mage right now who is all olive branch/angelic wing reponses, all the time.

I may lose my mind. Seriously. Some of the things coming out of her mouth actually make me laugh out loud. Not exactly in a good way, unless the writers honestly intended the goody-goody Hawke to be over-the-top satire. I... realy hope that's the case.

Wow. Really? Really? That's not Diplomatic Hawke... that's Care Bear Hawke. LOL I keep waiting for her to spew "Let's hug it out!" at the next set of ninja bandits dropping from the sky.

And she's my playthrough meant for Fenris. Oh, poor, poor, tortured elf man. He may kill her before I do!

How can Anders pull off the cutesy thing so well and not be super-sickening with it? More admiration for the man by the minute!

Didn't see anyone jump on this, but he says it when he gets to stay a Warden instead of becoming king or a drunkard, and Hawke meets him at the end of Act II. Here's a clip.

LOL, I noticed that too. My first fem Hawke is a total paragon but that line was a little over the top. I was wondering if all female Hawks say the same, even the renegade ones.
I rivalromanced Fenris with that one too, it was fun to imagine how irritating she probably was all the time for him, but it seems logical that the person who will shake him to the point of changing his view of the world should be so different from him.
I regret not being rival to Merril too in that playthrough, I have the feeling a whole Dalish clan missing in  DA3 may be a problem.

Hey thanks alot Threeparts ^^ (I like the Hawke in that clip rrawr) Alistair and my Surana staying grey wardens together is my canon, but this never happened to me, Alistair always refers to her as an old friend. There's a fix suggestion in the comments though, I might try it out.

Not that I'm complaining, I like both versions, but still no explanation why Anders looks so older, Zevran and Alistair so ugly, Isabela and Leliana so younger, Cullen and Flemmeth so hotter...

At least I got a laugh from Isabela's remark, when meeting the King of Ferelden...

Anders doesn't look all that muck older to me in DA2 and the changes he has gone through seem like they can be put down to the stress of his new life. Not eating or sleeping much will age a person a bit. Not to mention all the other craziness going on in his life.

It's when we can click on him in Act 3 before accepting the Justice quest and he says "It is still a thrill to turn and see you beside me."
