It makes his "Don't threaten me, little girl" comment much more interesting, IMO.  But I found that strangely titillating anyway.

In my head, Margaret responded, "Don't give me a reason to, old man."

Tee hee, I love it.

Anders: Don't threaten me, little girl.
Hawke: Don't give me a reason to, old man.
::long pause::
::they begin to make out passionately::
Aveline: 0_o
Varric: I don't think they even know each other's names yet.

Okay, so here I am in my second playthrough, and I just got the gathering quest from Anders again. The first time around, obviously not knowing what was going to happen, I didn't think anything of it except that I was trying to help my LI and Justice pull apart.

But, knowing what happens later, am I now right in thinking all of that was a ruse to get my help? I mean, he never actually does anything to free himself from Justice, does he? (I was swooning too much at hearing him talk about running away with Hawke and making babies to pay attention to whether or not his blowing up the Chantry somehow set Justice free.)

So, are we duped or did I just miss something?

The more I hear about mHawke/Anders, the more I'm pissed that a) they didn't include the Karl revelation in the fHawke game and B) that they chose Boulton to voice mHawke. He sounds so much like Vaughan that it makes me a little sick to my stomach to hear him.

Boo-hoo.

Aww, Surely. As I've mentioned before, I thought it was gonna be a problem for me but it's super easy to disassociate Boulton from Vaughan since a) I played city elf origin about 3 times in total and Vaughan's voice never really stuck in my mind and B) Hawke doesn't sound and isn't all rapey and gross. Think of Ser Bryant or Arl Bryland instead :kissing:

And yeah, Pseudo. Fenris romance is okay. I like it, but it doesn't really have as much of an impact. Fenris doesn't rip out your heart and stomp all over it (well, he could, but he doesn't), so I'm not as moved by him. Not that I dislike Fenris since I quite like him, but in terms of how his romance/character makes me feel in comparison to to Anders' romance/character, well, there is no comparison.

You can get him to admit it's a lie.

But...I tried. My boyfriend was playing a male Hawke all last week and by Thursday, I wanted to smack him by association. If he sounded more like Ser Bryant, it would be fine, but all I hear is Vaughan and it's not comfortable for me. (I should admit that the CE origin pretty much broke me).

Well, if he dies like he intends to then that's one way of freeing Justice and in the execution scene he even mentions this.

@Sialater - I sort of remember that (I have a terrible memory). Thanks for clarifying. :)

@Surely - I was hoping for more of a Ser Byrant voice than a Vaughan, too. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do a m!Hawke either, so I feel for ya.

Moira Surana was finally free of the tower and the rules.  Her first kiss was Cullen and she made out with Leliana, and had Zevran and Alistair (thanks to a bug I can't recreate for the life of me) wrapped around her little finger.  She got to Amaranthine and Anders was a little shocked to find the little girl in pigtails and skinned knees all grown up.  In no time, she had him and Nate wrapped around her other little finger.

She stayed faithful to the assassin and the king, though.

Unlike Margaret who only had eyes for the apostate mage.

I know! The first time I played I was like "Varric! Don't be jealous, I love you too, just not like that..."

My second playthrough I was like "Oh, right...well that was embarrassing. Sorry to assume Varric."

The weird part of this is... My elf mage was a  Moira as well... *twilight zone music*

Though I played her a lot differently- and I never got to finish my playthrough.

Black hair, blue eyes, delicate features that were borderline just a little too sharp?

Oh, indeed.  My Hawke could be a bit of an exhibitionist after a couple of drinks at the Hanged Man.  Or even with no drinks.  It's little wonder she and Isabela were such good friends.

Totally OT, and totally hilarious, went to The Hanged Man once and Isabela was lying on the floor face down. Ah, good times.

@nodice: lmao really? I HAVE to see that.

Gah, everytime I hear the party banter between Anders and Varric and how Varric has secretly made sure the Undercity gangs don't harass Anders anymore my heart melts a bit. I love that dwarf.

Chiming in to add--in the back of the guide, Jennifer Hepler says that "for Anders in DAII, I really wanted to try doing a cursed Angel-and-Buffy-style romance..."

Also you make me feel really old. I am 31.

Been wanting to ask, too -- are there major differences between romancing Anders as a mage vs. as a non-mage? I thought it was super-romantic to pair my rogue Hawke with Anders because she wasn't fighting for her own safety -- she was doing it for the people she loved. But I'm curious if a mage gets any extra, special Anders loving...?
