Clearly, while Justice has made Anders forget about keeping slick and clean looking, even he knows that covering up that jawline would be an injustice! So Justice makes sure to keep it to perma-stubble, even if shaving is a waste of Templar killing time.

EDIT: Maker no! Top... gimme a sec...
EDIT2: Anders finds a new use for the extra feathers from his pauldrons to solve his perma-stubble problem:

Awwwwwww, he loves Hawke soooo much, it's adorable. Posted Image And slightly creepy, but mostly hot.
As much as people going on about pre-DA2 Anders I can't see that he would have been ready for any kind of serious relationship - he would have totally broken my Warden's heart when he inevitably ran away if he was an LI.
In DA2 he's all grown up and gotten responsible (thank you Justice). Posted Image

@ Yami - feline Anders is toooooo cute!!! At least he's not balding though, I'd rather him be unable to grow a beard than have widows peaks ala Varric.

This was actually a bit of an issue for me when I first played DA2 in terms of character continuity - it just didn't seem consistent with the character to be so emotionally invested and intense as DA2 Anders totally came across as the guy who would just be interested in some fun and certainly nothing serious. I obviously don't think that now though, I think the way the character has changed between games makes total sense, but I do disagree slightly (really sorry!) that his approach to his relationships in DA2 means he's become more grown up and responsible. I think it's more a reflection of his insecurity being amplified through the increased emotional experience that being merged with Justice has caused. He's an emotionally fragile character (that manifested as a dismissing-through-humour disposition as a coping mechanism to his experiences in the Circle in Awakening) and in DA2 with his emotional experience being heightened I think his intense interest in Hawke is more because he's vulnerable and clings onto what he sees as the one good thing in his life.

Sorry, bit of a ramble there!

Edit: Just to add, I do think that generally Justice's influence on Anders has made him be more responsible (referring obviously to his passion for helping his fellow mages), I just think that within the romantic relationship context specifically that his dedication/obsession isn't a result of that change in being more responsible. Gah, I'm gonna stop now before I waffle on indefinitely lol

i tend to think of the anderfels as mongolian... harsh open steppes and rugged mountains, folks who have to up and leave at a moments notice when darkspawn attack

SNIPPIN THE LOLZ

I know I've mentioned it before Yami, but I love you.

EDIT: Question: Who would play Anders in a live action movie? Last time I asked this was pre-DA2 and everyone said Ryan Reynolds. I did not agree.

I still say David Tennant.

I totally agree that he's at the whim of his emotions, but whereas pre-JAnders he would have taken his pleasure where he will and wouldn't have cared if he hurt someone emotionally, he's now got enough perspective to put it off and off knowing that he's going to hurt Hawke. Which I think is a massive step up in the responsibility scales, and he gives a f!Hawke plenty of warning that it isn't a smart idea to get involved with him, even though he would really want it. Which makes me wibble. All over.

And waffle all you like, I love a bit of internet banter. Posted Image

YAMI!!!! - THAT IS AWESOME!!!!

@ Mandammcmoo - No. No DT. No.
Ewan McGregor... except with a pointier face. Or the super hot guy who plays Thor. Either is good.

No, I'm kidding. I actually have no idea. I'll admit to being atrocious about actors. I can't think of any that fit off the top of my head.

I think Adam Howden could work. He has the voice already after all and he looks fairly similar, although his eyes are the wrong colour.

Only when static - because the man CANNOT ACT!!!

AHowdz could potentially work. if he lost some weight - not saying he's fat, just that Anders is unhealthy levels of skinny.

I know. That's why I chose that picture, haha.  It seemed much funnier than just pasting his face over THE SMIRK.

That said, I would rather have the voice and acting match Anders perfectly than have him look exactly like Anders. They can do a bit of movie voodoo to make A Howdz look more like Anders, anyway.

Howden has a very different profile.

My vote goes for Tennant out of the suggestions so far.

Reeves has a wooden face. We wouldn't want to lose the expressiveness of Anders' face even in a movie!

Dragon Age 2: The Musical.

Including such classic tunes as: "Those bastards took my cat", "Not another Blood Mage" and the epic love ballad: "I'd drown us both in blood to keep you safe."

And agree with general consensus re Reeves, Anders is an emotionally expressive character. Mr. Reeves, to put it politely, is not an emotionally expressive actor.

I once had to listen to an hour long rant from a Canadian lecturer on why Reeves was the worst Hamlet she had ever seen. Needless to say, I can no longer watch him in ANYTHING.

ALSO - he murdered Jonathan Harker in Dracula. Utterly murdered. I actually wept every time he spoke.

Anders: I would drown us both in blooooood to keep you safe.

Hawke: WHAT??!?

Anders: I would kill every templar in the laaaand

Hawke: How... sweet?

EDIT: Not to mention the Act 2 reprise: 'I want you right here till the day we die'
