They'll hook up if you don't romance either of them.

Or they're playing twister back at his mansion.

I can just image how, erm, 'active' they would be together, knowing how they behaved with Hawke.  :D

Why does Hawke have two dead platypuses hanging over his shoulders?

Okay, question: after the Jenaging of the chantry and choosing to spare Anders, do you think it's possible to maintain Sebastian's friendship and/or respect, and would Anders understand your wanting to maintain a friendship with him? I mean, not as a gameplay mechanic because he leaves no matter what, but just as an aside. If you decide to run away with Anders, do you think Sebastian would end up hating you just as much as he does Anders? I've been pondering that very question for a while now and thought I might get other peoples' opinions on the matter.

seb doesn't seem the forgiving type. maybe on the friendship path he might waver back to priesthood again, but rivalling def not. and i'm not convinced about the friendship wavering. he was overly devoted to elthina
jennifer hepler did say that sebs story was not finished... we might find out if we import the relevant saves

Rivalry between the two of them aside, I do rather love the Sebastian/Anders relationship. They're both very flawed people whose viewpoints can be influenced heavily by Hawke and the results may not always be what s/he expected. For all its flaws, I really do love this game and the character dynamics. :-)

Yeah, I think my first Hawke would have wanted to throttle him from the bits I have heard. My next Hawke might be buddies, though... we shall seeeeeeeee

I think Sebastian could probably hate Hawke more than Anders. At least Anders has an excuse (demon in his head). Sebastian views Hawke supporting Anders as a betrayal of Elthina's memory, and points out that she trusted Hawke. I can't really see him ever getting past that, nor should he. As much as I sneer at Seb and think his plan is kinda lame, he's well within his rights to be pissed. Who knows how many friends he lost in that blast? People who were like family to him, and the only family he had after his had been killed. It's like Alistair and a Warden who spares Loghain, without the possibility of Anders being a sacrificial lamb the way Loghain can be.

My second playthrough was a Warrior default FHawke for Seb. The 'romance' was borderline schizophrenic. Marian kept dropping innuendos at him and then he asked her for his dim chaste marriage thing. I went for it, just to see how it panned out - and all I got at the Gallows was 'perhaps in another life...'

Needless to say I didn't even bother to finish. I can't believe I killed Anders (the first and LAST time, mind you) for that guy.

Although I do really like the fic that's being written about him. A LOT.

Now see, that could make a really interesting DLC: seeing just how contrary to Elthina's teachings he's willing to go to avenge her death.

Just to make this a little more Anderscentric, how do you think an Anders/Sebastian one-on-one fight would go?

So, since we're on the topic of Sebastian for the moment, I have been told that I'm not missing much for not shelling out the extra $7 or so for his DLC, especially since I can look up his banters with Anders and others on youtube and whatnot. Beyond that, another ranged rogue seems extraneous to me when you already have Varric.

So, any thoughts? Does he really add enough to the game to warrant getting?

money and experience, but there are glitches and exploits if that's important to you. the best contribution he makes is a deeper understanding of elthina imo. and a leliana cameo.

oohh; and he does have pretty armour

but no. not worth it

Some of his quests sound interesting.  From what I have gathered they add another layer on to what's going on at the Chantry.  And you get more Leliana.

My soul caught fire. I thought companion morphs were bad...someone thought that it would be cool to give Bianca a face lift! can you imagine this?! What would Varric say?

I say he's worth it simply because his quests do, in fact, add an extra layer to the mages vs. chantry war. Also, the Isabela/Seb banter amuses me to no end.
