he made me laugh when he said something like "would we even be debating this if i had been the chantry this afternoon!?" about killing anders

I lol'd.

In one of my playthroughs I barely spoke to him and to have him demanding I kill Anders, i was like "Excuse me sorry who are you again?" I don't dislike Seb, I just kinda... nothing him. Some of his banter makes me Posted Image a little though, but then that's true of a lot of the characters.

I think Sebastian could probably hate Hawke more than Anders. At least Anders has an excuse (demon in his head). Sebastian views Hawke supporting Anders as a betrayal of Elthina's memory, and points out that she trusted Hawke. I can't really see him ever getting past that, nor should he. As much as I sneer at Seb and think his plan is kinda lame, he's well within his rights to be pissed. Who knows how many friends he lost in that blast? People who were like family to him, and the only family he had after his had been killed. It's like Alistair and a Warden who spares Loghain, without the possibility of Anders being a sacrificial lamb the way Loghain can be.

I had a whole wee paragraph written but ^^this was better than what I had written. So ^This! Posted Image

Now see, that could make a really interesting DLC: seeing just how contrary to Elthina's teachings he's willing to go to avenge her death.

Just to make this a little more Anderscentric, how do you think an Anders/Sebastian one-on-one fight would go?

Sebastian is not the forgiving type. We see that with the "Duty" quest. He wants the company that killed his family completely obliterated, no questions, vengence all the way. In the end it doesnt make him feel any better, but he sort of forgets that when Elthina dies, and he swears to do the same thing again. He's hot-headed and impulisve, but he sort of loses steam after a while, so I wonder how long his plan will last, provided he can even take back Starkhaven in the first place.

As for one-on-one, unless Seb managed to catch him on an off day, I think Anders would win that fight hands down. Magic > pointy sticks.

Not that I know Seb, but it is my understanding that Anders can fell just about anyone with one look from his tortured puppy eyes.

The bolded always irritates me about Sebastian. He goes on about how Anders is completely reprehensible (even before the Chantry Jenga he's still thinking of turning him in just for being an apostate), but then Sebastian himself has gone on a killing spree for an agruably quite trivial reason when compared to the plight of mages.

Eh, I suppose character hypocrisy is par for the course in this game though.

And in answer to the original question, one-on-one, Choir-boy doesn't have a hope in hell.

LOL that totally by-passed me!

You know, on my first PT when the kiss was totally unexpected I had such an adverse reaction to it, I play listening through headphones and to suddenly have panting sounds in my ears as Anders lept onto my Hawke I actually had to pull the headphones off and kinda jumped back a little. It was too invasive for me (I'm one of those uncomfortable with intimacy types, takes me a while to adjust to a person etc). I think it's a great moment now (all those years of withheld feelings not being able to be held back any longer) but even thinking about how uncomfortable it made me on first PT, I really think the way that scene was written and choreographed (if that's the right word) is just so well done that it can provoke a reaction like that.

Lol. 'Up with (pants) and down with pants' was a title for this thread a while back I seem to recall.
Edit: Sorta :bandit:'d by TS2Aggie

Mm, after getting spoiled for the Jenga I resolved to remain unspoiled for everything else so this kiss did come as a surprise to me too. It wasn't really an adverse reaction for me in terms of invasiveness, but more of 'OMG, uncanny valley!' (curse you old graphics card!). But once I got past that my reaction was mostly 'guh'. Now this scene seriously makes me question my sexuality, or lack thereof! It's just . . . mesmerising.
I agree though, to provoke such strong reactions, it was really well written.
On a sidenote, I suppose technically the correct word is composed, seeing as it's shot compostion, but that doesn't sound right either! :pinched:

Am I the only person that thinks the panting is totally ****ing HILARIOUS and not sexy at all? I was too busy laughing the first time I got that scene that I missed out on the rest of the lines and had to reload.

I think for me like I say it just made me feel very uncomfortable at first so I too missed the rest of the lines because my headphones were on the floor away from me lol, it's only through having done I think five PTs now that I think it's well done. Can totally see the comedy in it though, but I think would it not be a bit odd if it was in total silence? It's like later in the game when Fenris is speaking with Aveline and he slams his hands down on the table there's no sound and I find that jarring.

I think it's hilarious they felt the need to put the 'pants' in the subtitles, because I've not seen any other scene audio described. The actual scene itself hellz yeah, but the subtitles, not so much.

Hepler apparently wrote it into the scene*, so I guess they thought it was that important to the moment. Which...it kinda is. It speaks to a totally different level of need than the other first kisses do (not to say the other first kisses aren't awesome, but they're different and Anders' is definitely the most...needful).
