I really don't want him to have some kind of epic backstory. I like that he came from nothing and did a great deed. And disappears into the sunset with the Champion...
The story would be better if he came from nothing and died... but I just can't do that. Selfish selfish Hawke.

Edit for top - Happy 1600 peeps!!!

Well Karl was sent to Kirkwall because they needed new talent. Couldn't the same thing have happened to Anders? I don't know how easy it is to come by healers. So he was sent the the Fereldan circle? And because of his distaste for his father, he threw out his name, and had everyone there call him Anders.

i wonder what happened to all the kirkwall talent? oh wait... tranquil

seems kinda silly to send more mages there

effin' Kirkwall.  Just sayin'.

Seriously >_>  Kirkwall doesn't count anymore to me, damn place is so full of crazy.  I think a Choas demon was there.

but If mages do get shuffled around like so, Anders could been shuffled to Fereldan for whatever reason.

I was under the impression he was always in the Fereldan Circle. Since he was already 12 when he was first captured and Irving is mentioned specifically in conjunction with his escape attempts and what not...it seems unlikely he could have proven himself capable between the age of 12, with no training, and whatever age he was when he was an apprentice trying to escape during swim lessons at the Fereldan tower.

And my totally unsubstantiated opinion is that he was from a middle or lower class family. It just seems right for him.

None are mentioned.

Also, it's a page that ends in multiple zeroes. Yay!!

I love that Fenris-kitty is on his head and that Aveline-kitty is not pleased with the situation.

 Hi there,
so I have a question: I am rivalmancing Anders and I wonder... am I the only
one that will never be able to look at Justice the same way again whenever I
play awakening?... I seriously hate him now... <_<

It's going to be a while before I play Awakening again simply because I find the situation really sad, but I feel differently to you about Justice, I don't hate the character because my view is he's as much a victim/at fault as Anders is. They both agreed to merge and their unfortunate amalgamation is a result of each entity corrupting the other. It's a tragic situation for both of them really.

Indeed but at one point it is Justice the one that prevents him from undoing his "wrong", so basically whenever I play again Awakening and he goes all righteous on me I´ll just look at him and go: really?? <_< He seems to me much more a pride demon than a vengeance one...
I do like Anders... but it is so sad...

Anyway, sorry for derailing...

Yeah, Justice was pretty quick to say he doesn't want to die. And wanted to terrorise Aura (or whatever her name was) - My warden was all like, "Not cool Justice, not cool."

And I agree with the idea that Anders comes from a middle or lower class family. Fenris managed to travel from the north end of Tevinter down to Kirkwall all by his lonesome, so it's not too much of a stretch to think of a normal family making a long trip together. Maybe they owned a wagon or something.

True.  Also yeah he came from a lower class family, it also adds to his rebel hottness, also his scruffy personality.

I also agree that Anders probably isn't from high class. I like to think of little 12 year old Anders coming to the Circle, and perhaps he's only really been around his parents (homeschooled? idk) so he has a bit of a funny accent still, and they tease him and call him Anders because that's what kids do, and it sticks ;)

I mean, I don't really know if I believe that or not, but I like thinking of Anders with a lingering Anderfels accent when he was little. Sue me.

Kids are brutal! I bet mage kids are even worse. They probably set fire to each others' underwear and put down grease traps for the nerdy kids to slip in and drop all of their books.

But regardless, the moral of my story is tiny Anders with a cute accent. You can ignore the childhood bully part if you wish :P

I can also see Wynne rapping little Anders' knuckles with a ruler when he's naughty in Spirit Healer class.

Considering his accent, I highly suspect Anders's family moved to Ferelden before he was born. My family is "from" Scotland even though I, my mother and my grandparents were all born in America.
