Hey guys, don't know if you've heard and discussed this already, but DA3 is officialy in development!

Edit: I didn't realise I got top! To celebrate the news he's a group picture as a tribute to the whole DA2 effort:

I'll be stalking Adam Howden's twitter from now on just in case the devs decide to give Anders a cameo.

Huzzah!!!  Although, frankly, with how DA2 ended I think it was cruel of them not to have DA3 already ready to roll out!

I know right? Or at least a bloody DLC!! I was SO hopeful they'd announce something 2 months after the release date of DA2 like they did with origins, but noooo BW likes to make us suffer :(

Bioware, if you're listening, here is my wishlist:

DLC now, or in half an hour, I'm not picky, just tonight mmmmkay?
Two different full expansions available - one for whether you sided with the Templars, the other one for the mages before September.
DA3 to be ready for this time next year (I know it won't be as that's when ME3 will be out... so next Christmas?)

A bit NSFW but saw this on deviantArt today. Unfortunately it only has hawkebutt and not andersbutt, but still a nice pic. Although, it makes me giggle a little because it makes me think of Anders never taking his clothes off.

Heh, that one was posted as is on the Anders thread over on the Origins board and the mods haven't removed it. I have to say I find that shiny bum disconcerting...

I must say, though, I do wish we had some shirtless Anders. I can understand them not doing shirtless Fenris (since they'd have to model a custom body for him, what with all the tattoos...and that would be far too much work, wouldn't it?) but Anders keeping that big, heavy coat on all the time does seem a bit daft.

Maybe unique body models in general are a lot of work? I think Anders would need a thin/lean muscle body type instead of the bulky muscle male model

This is my feeling, but with the added stipulation that it shouldn't have been too much work to do a "nude" body model for all the characters. They no longer had to make every piece of armor fit every race, so there should have been some resources left over to at least make sure all the main companions got a bit of love.

If DA3 gets less than 2 years of dev time I will be disappoint.

Begin controversial opinion:

ME2 had a 2 year development cycle. It disappointed me FAR more than any other game I can remember playing in the past 5 years. I've only managed 1.5 playthroughs since it came out. I'm currently on my 8th playthrough of DA2 and I'm neither bored nor disappointed.

/controversial opinion

This being said, more development time is always a plus. Less repetitive environments and better crowd NPC models could at least be virtually assured. But I think DA3 will be epic no matter what. Probably because I'm one of those crazy people who enjoyed DA2 more than Origins, warts and all.

I also like DA2 better than ME2 and DAO, but it's pretty undeniable that it could have solved its most obviously painful issues with more dev time.

Plus, I don't want to have to add yet another game to my Games I Love But Everybody Else Hates list.

Aye. I want it in development long enough that we won't have recycled dungeons etc. Also,  I really really enjoyed the combat in DA2 and (of course) the Anders tragimance but it was frustrating only being able to talk to a LI every three years and only after a huge quest chain. And also not being able to go back and find out more about the character (asking questions not flirting) without reloading.

so please please please EA let Bioware have as much time and resources as they need k thx

I did miss some of the questioning, but I like the general style of the DA2 conversations. In Origins, I ran out of things to say with people pretty early on my first time through (except for specific cases where bits of dialogue popped after big events). I was more frustrated with the lack of new info in Origins than in DA2. Ideally, though, there would be some hybridization of the two. Or even just one or two more dialogues per Act (or however they structure DA3).

I also agree with this one.
