It doesn't need to take longer... they just need more people working on it. That way it's more complete and out faster. :D

And I take it that I'm the only one that's amused by the reused maps? I find them really funny - I love being all like 'oh I can there, it's on the map, dammit why is this door locked?!' It's so much more realistic in a way, as if the maps that Hawke has got are hopelessly out of date. And I love stumbling across the little bits that aren't mapped at all. It just really makes me smile. :D

The only thing I really missed was the interaction with the LI's, gutted I have to use science run throughs to get all of the info, but if BW knew that they were going to do DLC which covered inbetween years I'd hope that would include more LI stuff. It would make sense to me at least for the time period to be that final jump after the Arishok, as if you have an LI it's the final one at that point. (Unless I'm totally wrong, I'm usually too buried in Anders feathery shoulders at that point).

I did like the way your 'tone' affected the choices available to you in dialogue - rather than having to unlock 'persuasion' or 'paragon/renegate' levels. And I liked that your tone could change. The only thing that was a bit of a shame to me was that the flirt options were so clearly labelled. I loved in DAO that I was chatting along with Alistair being all nice and good girly and suddenly he presented me with a rose - I totally blushed.
Unlike Anders where the kiss was still a suprise, and it was hot, but I knew that I'd been actively flirting with him.

Edit for Top - Still one of my fave DA2 pics.

I liked the active flirt lines, actually. You have no idea how many times Leliana ninjamanced me. I broke up with her a record 3 times one playthrough, this despite being firmly in Zevran's tent from the get-go and never having spoken with Lel more than a couple times.

I know it was partially due to a bug, but it really soured me on her. I have no problem with LIs flirting first (it's what I love about Anders' romance, actually), but once you tell them no, they should take it as the final word. I was starting to feel stalked. So if designated flirts keep me out of the clutches of any LIs I don't actually want to romance, I'm fine with that.

Anders and Leliana actually exchange notes on how to best stalk their current obsession. She gave him tips on how to best watch Hawke sleep and mouthbreathe over him without ever waking him up.

Leliana: ...and when his eyelids start to flicker and he's very deeply asleep, you can steal his shoes.
Anders: Why would I want to do that?
Leliana: Everybody likes shoes! Besides, you can hold them and squeeze them and smell them--
Anders: I'm not really sure his shoes best describe the parts of him I'd like to smell. Maybe I could snip off some of his hair...
Leliana: And tie it with ribbons!

@camilla & highcastle:

I can totally see that :D Leliana was the only Origins LI I never tried. I think her lisp put me off. But now that Anders has taught me to love creepers I should go back and let her watch my Warden sleep lol

Heh. Actually her romance is quite sweet - she won me over despite my inner reservations about the fact she's an Orlesian bard and a Chantry sister - two things I have an inherent distrust of. Damn bards and their persuasive ways.

Still, there's not a romance in Origins that I can relate to as much as Anders. DA2 has a lot wrong with it but the Anders romance is epic.

That would be funny if it wasn't so creepy. Leliana is just the most awful character - after my first couple of DAO playthroughs I just refused to recruit her. And to have her appear in DA2... and there be hints that she'll continue to be a returning character?!!!

i always preferred zevran but the maxed out stealth talents he automatically came with made me have to take leliana everywhere, just so my rogue could actually disarm any traps. way to strongarm me bioware!

This is a bit of shameless self-promotion, I know, but for anyone who enjoyed A Distant Ray of Light, I just posted the first chapter of it's (sort of) sequel, The Whole Sky Shaken. It's really more of a mid-quel, so...yeah. This is just a heads up to everyone here who's interested and is in no way blatant advertising or pandering.

/suspiciously specific denial

I used the raven respec potion mod specifically so I could use Zevran more.
I am glad we have more control over the talents in DA2.

This is why I nabbed the respec potion. I was completely willing to break lore to make Zevran a viable member of my non-rogue parties.

Also, I loved Leliana. I am used to that being an utterly unpopular opinion, but I thought she was adorable, interesting and had a sexy accent. I am sad that she's coming across kinda anti-mage in DA2, since she and my F!Amell were so stinking adorable together.

Anders. I don't really have much to say about him right now.

 amongst other things I am sure.  Poor Anders...why did he think he had to wait so long?  If he knew the people on this thread he would have realized, crazy is only a plus.
