It's sad but I did a run through anyway for science. And to see the manifesto get read. It was kind of interesting that even rival Hawke is all "I want you right here til the day we die!!!!!" Also, Justice is one scary SOB on the rival path. (My apologies for my computer sucking).

Lmao.

"There must be a peaceful solution..."

"No."

"If you talk to the Grand Cleric!..."

"No."

Edit: but why can't I get a kiss on the friendship route? D:< Toolset please!!!!

I know, right?!??!?!  Or at least a caress of the face or something.  That's the ONLY path where your LI doesnt give you one last snog!  :(

Maybe they just thought The Kiss was powerful enough to tide us over until the DLC (yes, I am being delusionally hopeful about an Anders DLC where I get to kiss him all the time)

he's giving Hawke space.

Hey guys! Before I go to sleep [Maker...my eyes are so tired -_-]...Let me just comment first. :D

So yes once the patch is released I'm definitely going to load my rivalmance of Anders. Then I'll see which is more dramatic [though I'm guessing it is more on the rivalmance than on the friendmance but hey....I'm really a pro-mage so I'm just going to do this for science! I honestly don't like siding with the templars even during DA:O]

And I'll have to agree with the kissing scene. Got my a little disappointed because all the other LIs have the final kissing scene and Anders doesn't have one on the friendmance. :pinched: Such a shame.

And I notice that the last little bit "may the maker grant us victory or all else is meaningless" is the same line you get if you break up with him at that point. So I have to wonder if it's not defaulting to that, due to a misplaced flag or something...

And yes siding with templars was hard for me. I mean...it almost killed my immersion. I loved mages in DAO, love them in DA2. I did ok but in Act 3 siding with Merrydeath was soooo hard. I mean have you ever? I didn't realize just HOW nuckinfuts she was until I did...

Yeah in siding with her you get the better socpe that she is past in the deep end, she is out in a ****ing ocean.  Seriously though, that whole city was siting in the ocean.  My first Hawke was so far gone, she coulsn't be mad with Anders(poor girl was severing from reality with everything that happened to her.)

now Michael Hawke, was going to kick his ass into the next age after they got out of the mess.

Sorry got side tracked.  I really don't get how people miss her crazy in the first place, hell she basically has a Vegas neon sign over her head that says she is.

LOL...I see people saying how she did nothing wrong and I'm like wait....did we play the same game??? Regardless of how you feel about Anders actions...it's clear she's freaking nuts. Tbh....I think some people just hate Anders so much that they don't want to agree with anything he does. And yes I've seen this first hand. Half of these people haven't even maxed him either way, which imo you shouldn't really decide on a character until you have done so.

I completely agree, people it seems with this game are easily blind sided.  Which is sad because they are missing a bigger part of the game.

I also agree on fully getting to know the character no matter what path you go down.  But I think people were one: To upset with the change from Awakening to give him a chance, or two: to pissed about what he did at the end to even bother with him again, and chances they didn't even give him two bit because of one.

I will be honest, I didn't manage to get Fenris to full rival or friend on my first playthrough. I was a mage, my first impression of him was...wow what a jerk. :/ BUT, I was determined to get him friendly, which I did with my rogue, and he started to grow on me. Then I full rivaled him with my next mage, and I like him both ways! Now I can't romance him, but that is just my personal issue with human female/male elf (don't ask, because I can't explain it). But if I had given up on him after my first experience with him, I'd still hate him.

I love how b!tchy Anders gets toward Hawke on the rivalmance. He does stick up for himself and his beliefs...at least up until the end which I haven't seen. My favorite is at home "you have made your point abundantly clear Champion" not love. Not Hawke. It's like burrrrrn

You guys are making me so sad! :crying:

I both love and hate that on friendmanced/let him live that you don't get a kiss... because well, we could all do with more Anders snogging. But then it's like you've accepted this far greater and nobler cause that is more than just two people in love - so it's more poignant I think without it. To me it comes across as a bit like... if we survive this then we'll have hot mage revolution sex, but right now, we've got a battle to win. It's the only LI ending where you're fighting for a cause, and it's fantastic and fabulous and makes me warm and fuzzy on the inside.

Oh my gods does someone know when does this scene trigger? Dump Anders and go for Isabela and then what? Or can you somehow do Isabela without actually dumping Anders before? I just wonder... where does that ignorant comment from Anders come from, lol.

Yes, but considering we may die, I want at least a little kiss :( But I see your point. And yeah after my Hawke gets done yelling at him for lying...it's gonna be hot mage revolution sex. :3

@nekhbet, wow I hadn't seen that one before. Probably because I've only gone Fenris and Anders.

Question!

So Reaver, I never got in DAO, I know it has something will killing the guardian, but fluff wise, how would one become one if there is no supernatural being thing around?

Thera is going Reaver in my latest chapter and I don't want it so seem far-fetched(?)

You drink a goblet of dragon's blood to become a Reaver (so a little Joining-esque). Considering all the dragons you run across in DA2, it's not too farfetched that you could either accidentally ingest enough to become a Reaver or learn about the ritual and perform it yourself.

I made my fic!Hawke a Reaver in Act 1, after clearing out the Bone Pit. She practically drowns in dragon's blood and, voila, reaver. It's lame, but pretty much all you do in DAO is drink dragon's blood. Of course, that dragon's blood has been "ritually prepared" but it's seriously the only way I could make it work with a non-crazypants Hawke.

Actually, there are reavers in the game. Maybe she could ask one how they gained their powers? That's still a little gray-area, since blood is involved and it should send off warning signals to any Hawke who is opposed to blood magic, but it's less fantastical.

Gah, stupid having to be Dragons blood.  Here I thought it was something cool, like a ritual to consume a spirit or something.  Bioware has disappoint.

I was so thinking, he drinking some Abom blood, like after they get all nasty looking, thus giving her some of it's hunger and a small amout of its power, thus she has some form of blood magic(because seriously thats what it is thats why I thought it had more to do with spirits)...but no she had to drink dragons blood....

Edit: I wanted it to be sort of an accident and she is addicted like she is to lyrium, because she really does have an addictive personality.

Edit again: Looking at Origins and DA 2 versions it became way more blood magic like and way more badass.  Seriously it is almost like Anders Vengeance tree. Oh wow the talks about that between her and Justice >_<

Oh also, does anyone have any clue, but I can play on my account on my laptop but when I try signing in on my Desktop to play it tells me servers are down

I runned debug script for rivalry with Anders while siding with the templars. With Hawke who wasn't romancing him.

He basically says he's going to commit suicide after it all ends. He looks like he doesn't know what's he doing anymore. With this Hawke, his "Goodbye, Hawke. Your'e the best friend I ever had" makes it a history of the most ****ed up friendship ever.
Damm you, Anders you're so dramatic, broken and utterly unfixable it make me sick, and I still like you... probably because, not despite.
Ok, enough with the depressing stuff. I need kittens.

Jeez, yeah. Anders suicide pretty much confirmed ):

Makes me feel a little better about the rivalry path, actually. Horrifically depressing, but certainly consistent with his character.

@ipgd - dude, I hate you. I'd literally just done the The Key to Your Heart which is possibly my fave friendmanced scene, then watched that rivalmanced vid. Properly cried. :(

Bioware, seriously, the writing in this game is awesome.

After watching that ending, I think I'll go do the WC ending in Origins a few times. You know, to cheer myself up.

I wonder how the rivalmance turns out if you side with the mages. Hopefully it's less depressing.

He doesn't say the "I cannot live past this" line if you romance him (and I checked and he doesn't on any of the non-star options either), but I don't know if that means he's not still contemplating suicide or just doesn't want to say it in front of romanced Hawke. He still sounds just as depressed and "this is goodbye"ish, though.

Ok so...I will need to friendmance him 15 more times to get rid of this sad feeling. D:

But I got the same impression romanced, even though he doesn't directly say it. Just....sad.

I'd agree that he probably doesn't want to say it front of romanced Hawke - he'll just do a runner like the old DAA Anders and kill himself. And I'd cry more fangirl tears. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to rivalmance/ oppose him at this rate - at least not without a course of therapy afterwards.
