I see people's point on the kiss to an extent, but this is almost a "hopeless" battle, so I would just like to see a small kiss there, I know I would want to kiss my lover if there was a good chance that 1 or both of us would die. No matter how mad I was at them, and I imagine my girl ain't happy with him.. LOL

Oh I hate getting top....since we are talking about kisses here is my terrible screenshot of the rival ending :D

With both of them facing death, I can see a kiss in the cards. Nothing as desperate as the kiss in the clinic, but something tentative and optimistic. He and Hawke have a long road ahead of them, the relationship has changed, and I can see Anders perhaps looking for some way to rebuild what they had, or at least take the first step in that direction.

Agreed. Even though he loves you and is happy you're running away with him, you acknowledged that the war is more important than either of you. It's focus more on fighting and winning and less on kissing. He's still very driven by the cause.

I think a kiss goodbye if you tell him it's over between the two of you would have made sense though, in the sort of 'I'm sorry I couldn't be what you wanted me to be." way. As heartbreaking as that would have been.

Yeah, further to what I said a couple of pages back, the no-kiss friendmanced ending makes sense to me in that you're now fighting alongside him for his cause - it's no longer just about the two of you, there are bigger things at stake. Now I'm sure there is hot revolutionary kissing and sex once you've both escaped afterwards, but immediately, there is a LOT to do, and it seems like Anders is focused on winning the battle rather than fighting alongside his lover - which is what I'd want from a revolutionary leader personally.

As a hopeless romantic I would have like a kiss too, but you know, I get why there wasn't one.

I guess maybe this is going to depend on each person and how they see the situation. Personally, since they are in love, even if there are problems in the future, my Hawke would want to kiss him just in case it is the last chance they get. It's not like she wants to go make out in the corner, just say "I love you" just in case the worst happens.

This is how I think of it as well - though I do really like what you wrote Highcastle. I agree with them having that state of mind but both maybe acknowleging that exploring the rebuilding part will have to wait until after the battle.

The kiss in the rivalmance makes more sense to me because it's truly the end for him/them- no matter the outcome of the battle.

TBH, I want a kiss for both endings. But...I would rather have the kiss friendly. I guess this is just a personal opinion thing, and the beauty of mods (if they released a toolset) is they aren't required :D but it's first on my to-do list if they ever release one.

Man the rivalmance just sounds more and more depressing the more you guys right about it. And I say this as someone who's a huge fan of angst and drama. I think I'll be sticking to youtubed videos of that one, and I'll have to imagine my canon Hawke and Anders having their rebuilding moment down the road.

Though honestly, the reason I want a kiss in the Gallows is that I think my Hawke's going to have a hard time touching Anders immediately after everything cools down. Being lied to and manipulated and being forced to walk away from a home he finally thought he could have and live openly in, that's a big thing. I like to think he and Anders recover from it, but it'll take some time. So a kiss in the Gallows when they're both facing death, that would probably be the last moment they could enjoy without Hawke pulling away and saying, "Yeah, remember that time where you used me to help you blow up a Chantry, then wanted to make me kill you, then made me walk away from the rest of my friends and family? Still not over that, sorry."

/the real sequel to ADRL. (joke)

If there was a kiss in the friendmance, I would want it optional. My canon Hawke might support the revolution and can understand why Anders did what he did but she'd still be in the "You're sleeping on the couch for a month" state of mind. Although, I might support a punch Anders and then kiss him option. That I think might fit my Hawke better.

Aw, I liked Kirkwall. Sure it was a city full of crazy, but my Hawke was pretty much a bucket of nuts too. He only seemed sane because he surrounded himself with people who were obviously more unhinged than him. But I can't get too much into why he (and I) ended up liking Kirkwall so much because it's kind of the purpose of my newest fic.

Personally...I want a slap mod for many companions. Like...Sebastian at certain points :x Just a general option to slap people would work.

Regarding the bolded: yup that's pretty much why I'm ok with no kiss at all. It's sort of "You lied to me, you used me, you blew up a Chantry, you wanted me to kill you, and now we're fighting for our lives. I love you, but I don't especially want to touch you right now. We'll talk about it when we have enough time for me to punch your stupid pretty face." I'm not saying I'd say no to a kiss, just that I can rationalize not having one, I could probably just as easily rationalize having one.

Yeah, I can rationalize not having one, too. But the option, the option would be nice. Options are always nice. And for Noah, at that moment, I think he'd kiss Anders. And then withhold sex for months and months and months and...

It's sad but I did a run through anyway for science. And to see the manifesto get read. It was kind of interesting that even rival Hawke is all "I want you right here til the day we die!!!!!" Also, Justice is one scary SOB on the rival path. (My apologies for my computer sucking).

Lmao.

"There must be a peaceful solution..."

"No."

"If you talk to the Grand Cleric!..."

"No."

Little did Anders realize, Justice had possessed a living host once before.
That living host was Sten. >.>

I have to admit I'm kind of fond of the kiss myself.

But I always felt it was supposed to be a tragic thing. He's losing control of himself and is clinging to the one thing he knows has been there and stable from the beginning. I guess Hawke is his rock in that instance.

Edit: Aw come on Batteries. Nothing wrong with wanting a hot piece of Qunari man.

...And the rivalrymance is about breaking his spirit? How strange. That is completely *not* how many of my rivalrymances played out. :?

Your mileage, it seems, varies. I've always found the rivalmance to be akin to convincing Fenris that he'd be better off as a slave.
