Without the merger, but with Justice along as a friend and co-conspirator, do you think Anders would have still blown up the chantry?
It kind of depends. If he still ended up as Hawke's really close friend or lover, then he might not. Unless Hawke was a bit militant/pro-revolution, Anders could probably be dissuaded from bombing the Chantry. Considering Hawke can change his mind on it even with Justice in his brain and everything, I think a more independent Anders could definitely be convinced there was a better way to do things.
This is assuming he even would have left the Wardens or even bothering taking up the cause, because pre Justice Anders was "all about me" guy.
But if he did. I think his already growing hate for the Chantry would have boiled over with the act 2 quest. I personally think that is when he started thinking he was going to do something big like that. Even if he was acting alone, I could see him going with Hawke and them telling them what was up and all they get is "aww poor Templar" type reactions. I could still see him doing it.
I mean he has suffered at their hands sort of as it stands and now here in Kirkwall it is a daily thing and no one speaks out?
He might not have blowen up the Chantry, he might have done the Templar quarters or Meredeths office, but I still see him doing something dramatic to make it stop, even if he only meant it for Kirkwall and not a revolution.
Don't forget that Justice outside of Anders might not necessarily have chosen to blow the chantry up either. He was changed by the merger just as Anders was.
Yeah, I was looking more at the Anders aspect. I think Justice with out the Warden might have fallen to desire and envy because of Kristoff memories. Gods I feel for the spirit. The mortal realm is not an easy thing for somethng like him.
The way I look at it, the Fade is always changing, but the creatures that live there are stagnent and un changing. The mortal world is the oppisite and that must be hard on him. Mortals feel all the things he and other spirits are embosiments of, at different degrees and other feel some more strongly then others.
I don't think spirits are single cell, but fear to feel anything other then what they are for fear something bad will happen. Also, I think Justice could be Vengeance even without Anders, or he could even be Retitbution because at their core is Justice.
Oh my point ranaway. I just think spirits have multipule levels and move between them with ease. They don't in the Fade because there is no need. So I am a believer if Anders calmed the hell down, Justice might slip of og Vengeance mode and go back to a more old self state. Anders seems to forget emotions are new to Justice and he just chucks his around like candy.
I am rambling again sorry.
