I adore Britain, but I always laugh at how close everything is to each other. We were in Wales in 2002 trying to get to a castle, it was on the map and being used to reading Australian maps my husband and I were like... that'll take us an hour to get to...

Then we looked out the window and there it was!

that's the opposite of what pissed me off when going to america! it takes so long to get anywhere tht what i thought should be an afternoon trip took all day. in cornwall i'm about an hour (maximum) away from everything else in cornwall, and buses take me there

So kinda like when I truck down to the vending machines in my building and get myself a can of Diet Coke and a bag of Cheez-Its that's been in there since 2004.

No, no. Tea is a thing of the common folk. You are clearly describing Fine Dining.

@Kromify I know! Then there's a different problem in New Zealand, where most of the roads (at least on the South Island) are all one lane either way, so what we thought was going to be Britain like time scales ended up actually being far more Australian, even though the distance covered was the same. Windy, twisty, mountainous roads. Beautiful.. but time consuming...

*sigh*

Oh.... and Anders.... I'm being prevented from playing much because of sick kids. I MISS HIM... *pout*

The more I think about 'cornish' as a euphemism, the more I follow it with the word 'pasty'.

Conjures all sorts of horrible images...
