Aaaannnndddd... did someone mention Andersbutt?
Gone-Batty
Speaking of weddings (I know they came up in the last couple of days, but I forget why), I am indeed in the planning stages for mine, and my fiance and I just got around to talking about what we'll wear last night (the whole thing is going to be non-traditional). Having been recently discussing DA, I suggested we dress as Anders and femHawke. Unfortunately, he refused to dress as Anders. "You can dress as Anders!" he retorted. Knowing he wouldn't go as femHawke, either, I said "Okay, I'll dress as Anders, and you can dress as Fenris!"
Sadly, I don't think that will happen, either.
But I mention it because this picture and the other one that showed up a few days ago as part of the "topping" celebration were the inspiration for that discussion.

OK, I love sarcastic male Hawke. When Female Hawke gets the "killer eyes and a nice smile" line about Anders, Male Hawke gets "No one's that selfless. He's probably got bodies hidden in his basement."
Wow, that's awesome! I'm very surprised they even had the male voice actor record the femHawke lines, though. Or was this done some other way, do you think?
Gah. I love playing on the 360, but the mods make me really want to shell out for the PC version, too.

Just send me a PM here and let me know the specifics of what you want. I'll go through payment and all that with you. Although, I have had a sudden influx of love, so it'll probably take about a week before I can get started on it. Oh! And any pictures of your Hawke that you could link me would be helpful.
Well deserved. As I can attest.
And now for an Anders-related question. Of this picture, YamiSnuffles writes:
"Oh, and that's supposed to be cider in Anders' mug. You know, because Justice doesn't let him get drunk anymore."
And I've seen other fanart suggesting that Anders actually doesn't even drink anymore because, as he said, Justice won't let him get drunk anymore.
Am I the only one who interpreted that line to mean that Justice doesn't actually prevent him from drinking, but rather negates the effects of the alcohol, so that, drink till he's drowning, Anders simply can't get drunk anymore?

Question: Does Anders get all jelly if you go with someone else? Do you need to flirt with him a bit beforehand? This sounds evil, I know. xD
He gets snippy in banter if you sleep with Fenris, and does the same with Merrill.
In Act 3, if Hawke didn't romance him, he confronts Hawke about her/his LI (basically intimating that they don't deserve Hawke and that Hawke would be happier with someone like Anders (at least in Fenris' case)). This is why "Anders Always Loved You!" is an appropriate thread title.

I'm not sure how Justice would negate the effects of alcohol. It's not like he's the spirit of sobriety with magical buzz killing powers. Although, if that's the case, that would be even more depressing than him stopping Anders from drinking past a certain point.

i always interpreted it as he couldn't drink at all. especially if anders hadn't been drinking for a while anyway, even a pint of cider would make him tipsy which justice would not approve of.

I didn't think about it in that way, but it's an interesting thought. I assumed it meant that Justice strong disapproves of Anders getting drunk, so now he relies on his own self-control not to drink. Kind of like his vow of abstinence. Justice doesn't seem to make him incapable of having sex, he just makes it so that Anders thinks better of those urges. (Or worse, I suppose.)
I personally imagine that Anders still drinks alcohol, just not to excess. But that's completely unsupportable head-canon.

Okay, I'm going to say something here that may make me sound very strange indeed, but a big part of why I think this is because I have pagan friends who do channelling/"Drawing Down the Moon," and they attest that when they have a spirit inside them, they can drink like the spirit, and that the spirits have a much higher tolerance, for...uh..."spirits" than we mere mortals do. (That is, while channelling, they can drink well past their normal point of drunkeness without actually becoming drunk.)
I've seen this a couple of times, and to be honest, I'm not totally certain what I think, but that's where I got the idea.

Ah ha! Drama! Perhaps I will be able to go for Fenris after all.

Well... it does give him a higher damage tolerance for little things like swords through the chest. Maybe it ups his alcohol tolerance.
However, Justice just cutting him off is more likely since Justice seems to have a distaste for more worldly pleasures.

Oh, okay, that makes sense. Anders can't get drunk because Justice has a really high alcohol tolerance.
However, I still think it has more to do with Justice disapproving of drunkeness. Just because Anders says he, "won't let" him get drunk instead of saying, "makes it impossible for me to get drunk." The way he says it implies permission instead of a strict inability. That said, I understand more what you're saying now.
EDIT: And as Sia said, it seems the type of thing for Justice to do. I don't see how he could think of Anders getting drunk as anything other than a distraction.

My Hawke and all of the companions (except for Merrill and Carver)! I want to use them on title cards for my fic on Deviant Art.
Okay, I read this originally as playing cards, not title cards, and now I'm thinking about having a whole deck of DA2 themed playing cards and I want it like burning.

I always thought it was a mix of Justice disapprovong, but also Justice gaining more control over Anders as he gets drunk (loses control). I think Anders has a very real fear of Justice Assuming Direct Control so tries to limit the situations where that could happen.
THAT would be a very valid fear.
But Justice would be in control of an Anders heaving his guts out over a chamber pot.
