Anyway, question of sorts. Is it confirmed that Anders' rivalmance is fixed in 1.03 and does that mean you can get him to stay with you even if siding with the templars?

Other question is, how good is the rivalmance if you end up siding with the mages anyway? I'm wondering whether I should squeeze in another playthrough before I install Witcher 2 (which is sitting on my desk as I speak).

if what you say about the mages is true, then more then likely, which is sad.  You would think the dialogue would change even a little based on that.

Ah yes, the baby that Farron lovingly carried in his butt for nine months.  Do you hear that, Pseudo?  Your Hawke has buttbabiesssssss!  ::attempts to lure Pseudo back to the forums::

I always end up being attracted to my male PCs.  I think it's part of the reason I don't make them very often, because the list of male videogame characters I get embarrassingly fangirl-y over is long enough already.

Ditto... How does that make any RP sense? Unless you go for the whole circle being filled with blood mages... which we know it isn't...

I guess you could always RP a Hawke who had a change of heart in Act 2? Since you can max friendship with Anders so easily, and it stays locked in, you could be anti-mage, say, after Leandra dies?

I guess the game isn't quite as nuanced as we'd like in that respect.

I am asking out of curiosity, though in truth, I don't much like siding with the templars (did it once, for science).

I had him maxed friend on a playthrough and I sided with the Templars, but I could not convince him to side with me against the mages.

I didn't think I could, but I tried, and I don't think it is possible. Even max friendship he still wanted to kill me for siding with the Templars. So, yeah... I just don't see Anders ever siding against mages. It would be completely out of character in any circumstance, don't you think?

I tried siding with templars with new patch as well with a max friendship romance and Anders refused to help- and I quickly reloaded and sided with the mages.

I must have missed the options or something then, I really didn't expect it to be possible. I admit I didn't do any research into it beforehand, LOL. I wasn't romancing him either so maybe that is something to do with it?

So what instances is it possible for him to actually side with the Templars?

If you are on the PC you can't right now, you have to wait for the patch to go live, otherwise he won't side with the Templars period unless you open his debug

Romance shouldn't matter with it. Just max out his rival metre and down that path it's actually Vengeance who blows up the chantry.
He does pretty much insinuate that he is going to die afterwards if you side with the templars. Whether in the battle or by suicide.

I see, so I wonder if they add some dialogue or something to where it makes more sense for him to side with the Templars. I still don't see him doing it, at least it just doesn't seem to fit his character at all.

On rival path he essentially becomes Ketojan.
He doesn't trust himself to make choices anymore so he hands his leash over to Hawke.

Now on friendship path is where I'll be stumped if he sides with templars then.
