That's a good point. Truthfully, I usually send him away at this point because I love the reunion scene at the Gallows and because I see my Hawkes having that initial reaction only to immediately regret it and...alright, getting off topic.

I don't mean to butt in on your conversation or anything, but does anyone have a video of the reunion scene after sending him away? I didn't send him away, because the only healer mage and all that, and I'd rather not play through that bit of the game again.

EDIT: Thanks, highcastle! Also, top post? Standard forum tradition requires a picture, or something.

I tried giving Anders a cat. He's not entirely convinced.

I didn't see anything on youtube, but perhaps my search fu failed me. At any rate, you're only without Anders for a short period of time. I played as DPS mage, didn't even have a heal spell, and  I still did just fine without him for those couple of areas until you pick him up again. Though in truth, you only get a few more lines of dialogues. He asks if it's alright that he came back, and there might be one more line before it reverts to the same stuff as if you'd kept him. I just like doing it this way because it seems like gut reaction a couple of my Hawkes would have upon finding out the extent of Anders' lies and manipulations.

Again I don't see it that way.

It's not that one comment on its own. It's a combination of pretty much everything with him.

@highcastle: I disagree. Starting a revolution without a foundation to me isn't smart.

I need to stop getting into these debates.

Can we move on to something else? Like Andersbutt or something?

I am not sure why you post if you don't expect people to, uh, respond to you :o

I only wanted to know if anyone else felt the same.

Not really a debate just a y/n answer. ;)

After all the "oh it must be a day ending with "day" comments came from me being too debatey."

Edit: And Varric is hilarious. "oh you're a mage Hawke...you know about weird ****."

I'm sure you're well aware that the people who post here like to go beyond 'y/n answers'. And so do you, evidently, so I'm not sure why you say you don't want to argue or say you're done arguing after eveeeerryyyy post you make and then... keep arguing !?!

Did I argue? I was only trying to clairfy my position. Sorry though. Don't mean to cause a debate.

As for going beyond y/n yes I'm aware of that. I should've clairified that as well.

Debates are a large part of this thread. And for the most part and in my general experience, everyone tends to keep a civil tongue on them. There's really no reason to fear sparking one of them--they tend to provoke pretty interesting responses. And I at least enjoy hearing other interpretations.

Part of Anders' purpose is to be divisive. Any time you have a character this complex who does something as big and as world-changing as what he did, it's going to make waves--both in the game world and outside it. So talking about it is kind of the point. Not wanting to participate in the debate is one thing, but don't apologize for starting one. It's cool, I think most of us enjoy it, and I don't think anyone's taking offense (or I hope not anyway).

I know on a personal note that talking to others with views different from my own at least helps me articulate my points...to myself if no one else.

@Ryzaki So... next time you'd better write:

"I think Anders is crazy! If you wish to reply, please only agree or disagree with me but don't say anything apart from that because it might spark discussion or debate!"

:D

there I'm more refering to all of your other posts ever

the "I'm done arguing wait no i'm not now i'm done arguing wait no i'm not now i'm done arguing wait no i'm not" is a thing you do

I probably should've just made a poll then. I wasn't trying to discourage discussion or debate but merely get a count of how many felt he was insane/sane.

@igpd: Point. Its a bad habit of mine that I need to break. I am used to debating (minus the "i should stop.") part so I slip into it easily.

@highcastle: I feel the same way. I just don't feel like being called the "one who b***** because it's a day ending with day again."

It's not that simple, though :bandit:

He's certainly not neurotypical, but he's hardly on the level of psychosis. 'Insane' is a loaded term.

@Ryzaki what I'm trying to say is that Ipgd is right - sanity/insanity isn't easily quantifiable, and pretty much depends on your point of view. YOU think Anders is insane because you're coming from the point of view of Ryzaki-Sanity, which is different from Miri1984-Sanity and Ipgd-Sanity. There is no sane, "control" Anders to compare him to, because once you take away the things that you say are making him insane he's no longer Anders and the argument becomes meaningless.

So I'm a ****** poor artist but I decided to give this a go. Ever since we found out Anders has no butt (at least in game) I wondered if maybe Justice erm... filled in as it were. And this monstrosity was born:

Due to my lack of scaling and perspective Justice has a bubble booty haha

The upthread discussion of sanity made me think of one of my favorite quotes ever:

"And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking... but when you're good and crazy, the sky is the limit."

Somehow I can hear Awakening Anders saying that, while DA2 Anders... he lives it.
