Hi, Andersians!

I made a romance (um, not sure it's a "tribute" exactly) music video for F!Hawke and Anders set to "Blue" from Cowboy Bebop. I hope you like it. Warning: contains extreme spoilers and nonstandard game ending.

Anders - No black and white in blue


This was not how I ended my playthrough, but I had to go where the song took me.

I think the line that makes me cringe the most is "I want you right here! Till the day we die!"

Oh thank God, I thought it was just me. I hated that line. Hated, hated, hated! It was extra out of character for my goofy Sarcastic LadyHawke, who had just responded to a declaration of undying love with talk of sandwiches.

I liked that line. Then again I read it as foreshadowing and was too freaked out to care about it being in character. Also it sounds much better from Boulton.

You don't have to convince me to ManHawke it up, I was totally doing that before it was cool. :innocent: I've just been making myself get the other romances out of the way so I can say I did them.



EDIT: Ahhh, I love "Blue" from Cowboy Bebop. It makes me sniffle.

Thank you! I wanted the end to be more "I love you, let me free you from Vengeance" than "Eh, I'm through with you" but couldn't pull it off with the cutscene provided. Maybe I should have added captions.

Anders: I'm glad it's you.
Hawke: Be free, my love.

It wasn't as hard as I thought but does take a lot of time. "Blue" took me about 40 hours, and I feel I could spend more time tweaking to make it better.

If you want to try it for free, download FRAPS to capture clips from your PC, and Hamster free video conversion software to convert the clips to .avi's. You can get a free 14 day trial of the VideoPad video editor (that I use) at CNET. It's very basic software and you can teach yourself to use it pretty quickly. I encourage you to try it -- I want to see more vids!

I think you succeeded. Really.

My heart can't take watching it again right away (oh gods no ANDERS) but with the combination of the music and choice of scenes that was exactly the impression I got. It tells a love story from start to finish.

That "Shattered" video is incredible! I'm just replaying the part where he lies to Hawke to get her help - I hate that part, and this reminds me of who he really is. Thankyou. It is the lie that I consider a violation of her trust, but I do understand his reasoning, both to stop her stopping him, and to protect her from joining him. I still hate that part, on a relationship level

EVERY single Fenris run-through I end up flirting with Anders for a tinsy bit... really, I'm just trying to be gentle and the man gets all adorable on me!  Nope, I can't bring myself to be mean.  I just wait for the point where he's kind of turning me down and I just agree.  

Mind you, I suck at rival romancing... I'm dragging Fenris everywhere and being "yo, mages, I will help you!  you want templars dead?  I'm down with that!"... pretty much anything as long as it means I don't have to say evil things to him during our talks.

It's hilarious playing a character that has a huge crush/admiration for Anders, but falls for Fenris.  
I just took on the blood mage spec to make sure I don't cave in to Anders adorable face.  So hard to resist!!!  But cannot make him fall in love with a blood mage.

Reminds me of the little line he has if you give him the blood mage spec in Awakening... oy!  Poor Anders.

I have to say, listening to my husband playing Awakening for the first time is extremely amusing.


"I like this Justice guy. In that helmet, he's like a Cylon."

"I want to make Anders a blood mage. He seems like he'd be cool with it."

"I should totally make that Justice guy a Reaver. Then he'd be, like, an undead bloodsucking vampire."


He has no idea what's coming in DA2. And I'm not going to tell him.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I totally crashed the Fanders thread, and everyone was very kind to me. I love the DA2 forums.

I just couldn't fall in love with a tragedy. Someone said that Fenris's romance is self-contained. Well, all the romances I have ever had, in their best moments, seemed self-contained. We felt like we were the only real people in the world. It's part of the immaturity of love. Fenris can apparently give you that feeling. Anders didn't have that throw-caution-to-the-winds quality. He did in Awakening, but he was just too serious in DA2.

I won't lie, I am as upset about the Justice/Anders situation because of what it did to Justice as I am sad for Anders. I really, really, really liked Justice in Awakenings.

Gawd, so sad. I am never siding with templars again, just never... SIGH.

I sometimes feel like this obsession with Anders all boils down to me wanting to save him, protect him... ail his sorrows.

And he has the best line, lover or friend... if they tried to hurt you, I'd drown us in blood... o.O

I think, I think... part of the reason he wants to die is because he also thinks he broke Hawke's heart by doing this thing, this big gesture that was basically why he came to be, to free the mages... and yet he's broken Hawke's heart, he's ready to die for his action but also even more willing because he does not expect Hawke's forgiveness.

If you side with him and take him with you, he seems a lot less broken up and martyr-like... Hawke does make a huge difference to him.

In the end... he did say, hurting Hawke would kill him. Not empty words.

Warrior definitely has a templar specialization!  I was one on my last playthrough.  Being a Reaver is way more fun, though.
