The whole thing is depressing, really. It is possible to enjoy one romance without tearing down another, but some people disagree, apparently.

The quote that really pissed me off was someone said "I thought he was straight in Awakening, but I guess somewhere in between then and DA2 he met Karl and turned gay." I mean, despite the idea that you can just spontaneously be turned gay, they couldn't even get the timeline right. I had to leave the thread before I necromanced it with rage.

Maybe they think it's some sort of elaborate reverse psychology? I don't know, I don't really get the argument either, but I suppose the rule is, if it exists, someone on the internet wants to argue about it. Reminds me of this.

I still can't seem to get him to trigger the proper rivalry dialogue or get him to side with the templars with the patch. Has anyone else been able to? Does it require a fresh character or something?

It might go back before the Justice quest, if scripts and dialogues are baked into the areas. You might need to go all the way back to the beginning of act 3.

Warriors were not broken. 

Mages were broken. (Especially BM/SH) 

And rogues are the ones who need a nerf. <_<
