And I couldn't find a youtube video of the boulder scene, but I think the quote's something like, "If we had a giant rock to push uphill this would perfectly summarize my life."

Sorry if I'm late, but when does Anders say this?

Hey! Don't disrupt the status quo! My assassin rogues are perfect - they make me feel like the god I am. If they get nerfed, I will surely cry. Into a pillow. And you'll feel bad.

"If Bethany or Carver rejoin the party near the end of the game, they now learn the Force Mage and Templar specializations, respectively." - from Patch 1.03

Huzzah. I was hoping they'd do something like this. It always made me sad-faced that all the companions had awesome personal trees but nothing shiny for the siblings for endgame. Hope it's the same for Templer/Circle AND Warden outcome. Otherwise, no more Deep Roads trips for you, little sib.

Now, if only I could try to romance someone other than Anders... :o

First time he said that for me was when I was doing Merrill's final mission. Felt appropriate.

I still can't seem to get him to trigger the proper rivalry dialogue or get him to side with the templars with the patch. Has anyone else been able to? Does it require a fresh character or something?

It might go back before the Justice quest, if scripts and dialogues are baked into the areas. You might need to go all the way back to the beginning of act 3. :(

@Yami: adorable drawing!

And those kittens! One looks like nutella Hawkette and the other looks like Anders! <3

Is "before the Justice quest" before it pops up in the quests section, or before talking to Anders to accept it?

Edit: And can I get a yes or no answer on whether, while siding with the mages, his rivalry ending is different from his friendship ending? I don't want details. :) (Really hopes it's different.)

They've apparently increased the cool-down time of rogue special moves - which makes me sad. Posted Image But they're tougher now, so on the whole I hope it balances out. Unless the Arishok can destroy me in 20 seconds again... and again... and again...

I would just like to take a moment to thank/stab Manda for destroying my life with twitter - if you interrupt my Anders game time tomorrow (can't believe I've managed to sit on my hands after the patch release) I will whip you. Posted Image

Teh feeling is mutual Elle! I wrote over 100 tweets yesterday (out of 400 total) and did NO work.

It is an injustice!

EDIT: Oohh! Almost at p.1700. NOICE ONE!

All this talk of rogues, are they fun? I have been mixed opinions on them, archery looks so much better, but overall is the class worth playing, I have heard they can't kill anything(I found hard to believe...because you know...rogue...)

I only have a low level archer rogue but he's pretty fun to play with and plus I get to hang around in the back with Anders.

And I've seen rogues doing some pretty amazing damage, 50k crits, makes me @____@

If you build them right a dual weapon rogue is GLORIOUS, helps to have a warrior in your group (usually I go for Fenris as he can stagger and then you just critical hit them).

I had a hard time with the Arishok first play through - a LOT of reloading, second time, killed him in under a minute. Posted Image

Edit

And of course Anders never, ever, leaves my side. He's the perma-groupie. Posted Image

I would have that face two, and a bonus of hanging out in the back with Anders? oh yes!

Also on the topic of Anders ass, I was running around and I noticed something...at least on my screen, Anders had an ass! I mean there was this bump and I was like o.O? "Ander where did that come from?"

I believe this has something to do with my Hawke being male.

The Arishock, always kicks my ass...I gave up fighting him on hard and nightmare mode.  Also Ander is always, always in the party.

I never bother with the archer build because Varric is way better than you'll ever be, and I prefer the mages in the party for ranged attacks. But I do love the back-to-back skill where I get to go and rescue Anders when he's being swamped. Posted Image

I love rogues with a fierce burning passion (which is funny since I was always a mage player in DAO). They are fiddly, and you need timing, but Maker the damage you can dish out and the thrill of overcoming something that could quite possibly squash you flat within seconds.

For me. the satisfaction comes with the controls (I'm a PS3 player). With a dual weapon rogue I can backstab at the right moment, both dodging the opponents attack, and launching one at his back. It is a class of hit and run, fragile in the battles where you are on your own, but positively lethal in a party.

Fighting the Arishok was hard since a single swipe takes much of the health, but on the other hand a well-timed backstab followed by a bunch of assassin skulls really does some damage. Still, it takes strong nerves to stand there watching him bring those huge weapons down on you, waiting for just the right moment to push the backstab button...

EDIT: And yes, back to back used to save Anders is just so satisfying every time.

^^^ This, rogue is the most joyful of the builds. It just LOOKS amazing... I'm convinced Hawke is meant to be a dual weapon rogue - there's two of everything else in your party after all. Posted Image

As for the Arishok, I go for - tar bomb, combustion bomb, back stab, twin fangs, and finish him with a chain. (With all the passive critical damage skills pimped)  Unless you're very unlucky and he manages to get a health potion off he'll be dead quick. Posted Image

:crying: Nuuu! Say it ain't so!

Oh, hah. The Arishok battle. I went into the battle so smug and then ended up running in circles from him for like half an hour, screaming like a little girl while the dog chased him in turn and chewed on his heels.

Oh, they kill alright. With a properly built rogue, I kill things harder and faster than any of the other classes (though I may be building the other classes wrong). And the dual-wielders are so much fun to watch, like tiny, deadly ninja-hamsters.
