No I've always gotten that impression anyway, but this just kinda...makes it more true. I doubt I'll go this path again now, rival then side with mages most likely from now on.
That's the ending of the rivalmance I decided for my Hawke, but it's a bit puzzling that the dialogue at the Gallows is still the same of a frienly romance. But oh well...you can't have everything I suppose. Even though it was like he forgot about Vengeance and was perfectly fine with whataver happened. I don't know, it didn't feel right...

Ack, poor rivalmanced/templar ending Anders. I'm glad the implication that he dies is there more solidly now, it would make me unbearably sad to think that after everything else he's still alive somewhere - actually I don't imagine Justice/Vengence would let him carry on.
But... what if Justice hi-jacks his corpse and carry's on fighting in his stead?
I would like to believe that after accomplishing the Chantry jenga Vengeance calms down. He fulfilled his purpose after all. I would like to hope Anders then can learn to control him. But its unlikely, in such a drama.
Vengeance controlling the corspe, or simply controlling the body of Anders (because after all the murder knife maybe didn't really kill him), is still one of my fears. The situation is already utterly sad as it is. Although it is confirmed that if killed, or if he kills himself at this point, Anders won't come back, I still fear that Vengeance can come back.
I even imagined that he jumped in Hawke's body xD
