Alright. One more question about the Anders rivalmance...or romance in general. I read the wiki but it doesn't specify.
If my character doesn't flirt with Anders at all in Act I, can I still pursue a romance in Act II if I choose flirt options during that act? I'm about to hit the point of no return in Act I, so I wanted to be safe.

OK, I know I'm way late for this but still. It needs to be said: sod them. It's not all PornFiction out there (it should be a bonus, not a requirementSialater wrote...
Anyone have something with Silly Anders? I need cheering up. One of my fics is getting panned for not having enough sex.

Quoted. For. Truth.
That's by far my favorite build for an apostate:wizard:

Meh, another Hawke-should-have kids thread in the other forum. Truly, I didn't plan for my hero to end up with Anders from the start, but now I'm pretty happy that they *are* both men. *grumble* what is it with the obsession for spawning...

I don't mind Babies Ever After but it's not what I want for my f!Hawke and Anders. In an abstract kind of way I think Anders as a dad would be brilliant though. Scarily over protective but brilliant.
The big problem I have with kids in a video game is that they would (or should) change the whole game. Bodahn could probably look after the kids for a couple of days while Mom and Dad are off adventuring. He's proven himself to be a kind and sensible parent for Sandal, which could not have been easy. But Bodahn is getting up there. He won't be able to raise the children if something happens to mom. No offense, but Anders has trouble keeping himself fed and healthy without having to worry about making sure the kids get nutritious meals, too. I can imagine him holed up at the writing desk, working on his manifesto, and only tossing the kid some instant mac-n-cheese when they get too cranky for him to concentrate. Think of how it would change quest giving.BlueMew wrote...

Oh, I don't mind. It's just that "it spans 10 years so you're bound to have kids" rubs me the wrong way. Or, of course, the precious: "everyone wants to have babies so if you can't you should adopt an orphan."Amondra wrote...

Cute babies? The idea of a fairytale ending even if in the DA series it doesn't seem likely? To add more drama? The reasons are endless. And honestly some people are romantics and the idea in itself is romantic in stories such as these.
I don't dislike the idea nor like it. Fantasy world and all, so I toss most logic views out, like the war lasting years, mostly when your Warden stopped the actual blight apperently in about a year maybe a little less.
Meh just taking the otherside so you have something to look at. Another angle.
I just finished lunch. Wish I was drunkAlso I am not big on ****ing on what other people would like to happen or think it would happen, fantasy world, the possiblities are endless. So yeah rambling because I am tired and drunk ignore me.

Personally I think inability-to-spawn related angst is pretty compelling and can do very interesting things to a relationship should the blame be on one partner alone. Some writers have gone down the maimed Hawke can't spawn route, but let's remember that Anders is a Grey Warden.
Doesn't mean that compelling own-spawn substitutes can't be found *cough*

While I can perfectly understand why it is best to avoid the subject of Hawke's children, or the PC children anyways, I would have liked A LOT to see Aveline and Donnic with babies.

And he's been a Grey Warden for a long time by the end of the game, even if there was a slim chance for younger GW's to still have children I'm sure nearly a decade pretty much means it's not going to happen.
As for spawn-substitutes... I like the idea of them taking an active interest in the mage kidlets that get swept up in the revolution - obviously too young to fight and needing to be kept safe - they're amongst the innocents that they can actually do something to protect, so it still keeps perspective on the larger issues rather than the immediate family ones. The possibilities are endless.

As long as there are endless possibilities as well for NOT having any kids whatsoever *nod*
Honestly, for me, if you got stuck with a kid, it would be a reason for me not to play the romance or heavily mod it.
Aveline and Donnic would be fun though. For Pratchett fans, imagine her reading the watchman version of Where's My Cow?
