NSFW commission from Gone-Batty/ VertigoComplex came in this morning! I'm posting it first because... well, MINE *nom*

f!Hawke x Anders censored for devArt but still NSFW

There is another version on her tumblr account... as well as a lot of other awesome pretty things. Posted Image

Edit - @Ashy, just posted this then saw yours, bringing back to the het baby Posted Image

Wow, that's beautiful (and holy smokes, sexy). I really like the one by Yami earlier on this page, too. That scene has a real sweetness to it. So much awesome Andersart! <3

HOMG, tell me about it. I've another three... four... dozen pics I want to commission her for, so it's just being able to time it right to get onto her schedule.

Support your fabulous artists by buying commissions/ being a patron. And remembering to link to their sites when uploading their work. *nods*

Edit for Top - More artygoodness - I cannot tell you how awesome these two pics have made my day

Anders himself basically says he's going to kill himself if you side with the templars

Where was this?

On all dialogue paths, he says "If I die during the battle or afterward, know that I always loved you." That's paraphrased slightly because I can't remember the exact quote, but it is very, very close. If you choose the purple "We'll probably die," he literally says "I cannot live past this."

How could he say it more plainly?

That to me doesn't mean he's gonna kill himself. More like he expects to be killed.

The "I cannot live past this." is far more of a "I'll kill myself." line but as said you only get it when choosing the humor dialogue.

Though I'm glad they did it this way. It leaves it open to interpretation.

It's a lot more straight forward in the non-romance path.

Hawke: We must show that the revolution failed. Then the mages can work for peaceful change.
Anders: Perhaps they will. But I will not be part of it. I will do my best to make up for the damage I caused, but I cannot live past this. Vengeance will always be inside me. I cannot risk losing myself to him again. But if I die—now or after—perhaps it will be Justice and not Vengeance who rises from my corpse. Goodbye Hawke. You've been a better friend than I ever knew.

Awww - thanks! And if you do not mind, these stories are slightly AU - I tend to ignore Justice's existence and also I am playing a bit with the timelines...

So, here is a little teaser from the story that will be up soon-ish (still unbeta'd so be forgiving)

"Anders, love?"
"Mmhhmm?"

"Can I ask you something?"
"You already did, but go on"

"Would you move in with me, here? Its a big house and with Mother gone..."
He feels Anders go still at the question, and he bites his lip in worry.
"I mean you spend most if your time here anyway and it's something people do when they are serious about one another, and I am. Serious about you I mean, I really do love you and want to spend all my time with you and..."
"Shush Danny, you're babbling. I...I'll think about it OK? Not tonight though, I think it's best discussed when you're sober-"
"I am not drunk! I barely had any wine..."
"you're high as a kite on sugar, sweetness and I'd rather you make no big decisions when you're like this."
"But-"
"Shush now and let me wash your hair, it's all sticky and horrible."

(Please note this was written on my crappy iPhone, on a plane at 6am :D)

I think Rivalry may be better for him, but I can't side with the Templars.  Too bad just because you side with the mages he's programmed to think you've just OKed everything he is and everything he just did.  I think you can still love him there, but not be OK with what just happened.

Alright alright so many good songs im going to make an Anders playlist after my Fenris playlist. I rivaled Anders once and it really is so tragic I don't think I could do it again. I haven't really romanced him but I love him as a bff and partner in.. crime. I can't equivocate myself to an anderstian but I hate to see him suffer so much. I just wanted to hug him after the chantry thing when he is so prepared to die.

That's a flaw with the friendship/rivalry system in general. You can agree with a companion on one topic and disagree on another and it's not acknowledged.

If only Hawke had something better to say than YOU HAVE TO PAY when you kill him on the friendship route.

Little late here (thread moves so dang fast) but this line didn't bother me at all. My only/canon playthrough so far my girl didn't romance Anders (she accepted his "no, I'll just hurt you") but he and Varric were her best buds. She sounded emotional enough when she said it that it still worked for me.

Imo, if you do it as a friend you are saying, "Anders is no longer in control." Your friend Anders was a good man, and would not have blown up innocent people. It's as much a mercy killing as anything (in my humble opinion, of course).

Exactly... so... in my headcanon, after it was all said and done, Margaret took Anders aside and ripped him a new one.

Then there was great make-up sexing.  :D

That's actually not entirely true. Friended Anders is pretty peacefully merged with Justice and he agrees that the Chantry explosion, while terrible, is what had to be done. A rivaled Anders, however, is losing control to Justice, who just takes over to accomplish it.

For me, the "you have to pay" line is actually probably one of the best possible things you could say, without getting "overly specific" (by overly specific, I mean that there are a lot of great things that could be said if you were just straight-up writing the scene, but this is a game so all responses have to work for a huge chunk of people who may be having very different emotions and justifications for what they're doing.) It's the kindest thing you can say to him in a way, because he already believes that what he has done was wrong, and that he should pay for it. Saying "you have to pay" gives him peace... both the non-violent man he was before Justice and the man he is now understand what he did, feel guilty about it, and feel the punishment is appropriate.

Reaffirming that you think that the Justice part of him was a bad idea, or that he's lost himself, or whatever other thing... that would just make him feel bad before he dies, feel another twinge of failure and guilt. The "you have to pay" gives him peace, I like to think. Makes him feel like what he did was an honest trade. Even if you don't agree, it's nice to let him die thinking that, at the very least.

Friendmanced Anders makes me go weak at the knees and misty-eyed for having the strength of conviction to do the right thing for the mages (playing as a temperate non-mage, it suprised me how much I agreed with him at the end), even though it means he has to do something which itself is pretty horrific. It takes real courage to be able to make that decision and to take that step, rivalmanced doing it destroys him, friendmanced he can accept that it was necessary and carry on the fight.
I'll happily bang on about how I think Anders act is the best thing since sliced cheese, but the crux of the matter is he can deal with what he has done if he has your support.

i love passionate people... viva la revolution!
first time i was too shocked (read naive and blithe) to decisively choose templars or mages. i chose anders. now that i think on it more i choose mages.

i wonder if there's a viva la revolution banner out there somewhere. (i should certainly hope so)   if there is i want it. now.

I'm going to have to agree with this. Especially the squeeva-la-revolution part

But seriously I'm very pro-mage, and have been since Origins. I can go the other route, and frequently do. But I far prefer friendmance.

Edit: you know I can't say I prefer the friendmance, but I DO prefer to side with the mages at the end. The rivalmance is...really hot to me. Maybe I'm just sick.
