Part of me wants Anders to come back for more because he's become my favorite character in all of Dragon Age. The other part of me wants Hawke's decision at the end of DA2 to matter.

I don't think Justice lifted a finger (so to speak) to save Anders at the end of DA2 for a reason. Anders himself accepts that his victims also deserve justice, and that killing him is the way to do it. Dead should be dead at that point, though I suppose we could always see Justice without Anders at some point if he does return to the fade when his host dies.

I just hope my choices import properly for the next Dragon Age. Anders is dead in my save, as dead as dead can be, and I don't want him running around in DA3 again. It would be nice if the DA universe would build itself up, one game at a time, until every single player would have a somewhat unique savegame when the franchise is killed.

let me guess, arrow through the neck, body badly burned, in robes. Do all mages look the same to you?

that makes no sense. Anders says he left the Wardens when the Keep fell, so how do the Wardens make him get rid of the cat? How does he meet Stroud? You can't say he leaves and meets Stroud later either. Stroud says to Anders in the Deep Roads "I thought you were dead". How is that even possible? Anders had to meet Stroud after Awakening.

And if that sthort story is to be believed, Anders killed some Wardens and they know he is an abomination. But no Warden in the game seems to care or know.

Maybe Some wardens found him for a short spell and the word just never got back around to Nate. They did have the ex-templar guy watching him so something went down before hand and they obviously weren't thrilled with anders.

even if it's not perfect, it's good enough.

What puzzles me, is that I don't think he can return to the Fade? Otherwise, he could have done it when he left Kristoff's body. Anders says, if I am not wrong, that he offered himself as a willing host to help him, because it had to be better to be in the body of a friend and not some other corpse.I assume, somehow, considering the conversation you had with him too, that he developed some sort of attraction to the world outside the Fade. I don't know if he can't return or he doesn't want to...

That beautiful smirk pretty much sums up all that i love about this character ^_^

seriously though, can we give an award to who ever animated his facial expressions? I mean, the sad puppy dog eyes alone can break your heart :(

Agreed.  Anders has some fantastic facial expressions--everything from sweet to furious to despairing.  The look on his face at the end after he blows up the Chantry just breaks my heart.

I don't think he wanted to go back.
His offering to "fuse" with Anders sounded very demon-like to me. Or was it Anders that offered? I can't remeber. Either way, he seemed like he was already going down a corrupted path after being in the real world. Maybe he did really want to help, but part of it had to be not wanting to leave.
If he even could.

i know... his face there just says it all. And if you go through with killing him, that's even more heartbreaking to watch (i had to watch it on youtube, couldn't bring my self to do it!)

Don't daemons inhabiting live mages go back to the fade when their host is killed? Maybe they thought it would be a way back for Justice eventually

@GailRana: Thanks. I think for more fanvids to kick in, people would have to play it a lot so they could find ways to extend vids or use more cutscenes with Anders. Personally, I am looking for more material to use to make longer fanvids

I don't have the PC version, so i can't even try video captures. Eventually there should be enough source material on youtube to chop back up into some good vids, it will just take a few more weeks :)

Well also I found this comment from David Gaider saying that the short story doesn't even support all possiblities, so the short story might not have happened for you.

David Gaider wrote...
A game can support alternate versions. A short story cannot. If you
never recruited Anders, he was never at Vigil's Keep. So it might have
happened as the short story lays out, it might not.

@Sable: Interesting song choice. Great material to use esp if one wants to play with beats

@erilben: interesting quote. But won't Anders be executed if he was never recruited as a Grey Warden? Also, how would Justice find him.

I wish they would write a story between Awakening and DA2 that would tell how Anders came to the decision to be Justice's host. The banter in Awakening explains some but not a lot. Because Anders in Awakening initially did not like the idea of doing a certain act to oppose oppression, it must have been a hard decision to make.

I suspect that was the whole point, while Justice was stuck in (wow I forgot his name)'s body he was basically      doomed to disappear to nothing the moment the rotting corpse crumbled from under him. I always thought that's why Anders wanted to help him? But Justice is a nice character in Awakening so I can't completely dislike him in DA2 even though he is driving Anders mad. It is also not his fault that he got transformed by hate and resentment. Esentially Anders has got a bi-polar mightly spirit inside his mind and heart - can't be easy.

As for fan videos. I was thinking of making some of my character even though the friendship romance is already on youtube.

Listening to this might help:

The Anders-Justice banter is near the end.

No talk of possession though. I think that subject has been brought up by another character to Justice.

I also wonder how much of the Anders we know in DA2 is actually Justice. Because DA2 Anders exhibits a lot of restraint: something that Justice would practice not the Anders of Awakening. Also he mentions that Justice does not let him get drunk anymore. It makes me wonder, despite Anders telling you of Justice's disapproval on the romance with Hawke, does Justice also love Hawke? Showing it in a different way: telling Anders to stay away. This also forces the question: does Hawke love Anders, Justice or the composite?

Well, I have to give Bioware credit for Anders' execution part.
That was awesome in many levels.

@Miri: love it! thanks for the interesting biography. I think the fragmented narrative has strengths and weaknesses. It's strong in a way it is a summary of a life. I just wish it is a little fragmented though. but you cant help it. otherwise it is great!
