Just came in to state my agreement with SF, that Anders actively seeking to exterminate mages is not something I see him doing. I can see him killing himself as Hawke goes to annul the Circle. But not actively do it.
Somewhat related, does anyone think that Anders, even if stabbed, is still alive? Apparently the short story had him stabbed as well and he came back to life. If so, what do you think will happen to him?

Gaider confirmed that any Anders that was knifed would be staying dead. Regardless of whether it's possible, there don't seem to be any plans to bring him back.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Gaider pretty much guaranteed that he won't return if killed, I think. And when siding with templars, he sees it as more of reconciliation for what he's done, you can say "this is your penance" in the gallows. So I can see it to a point based on the whole rivalmance...however I also see some holes.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

LOL, same here.Sialater wrote...
Doesn't matter though... in my games, he'll always live.

D: Well, if my Hawke is involved Anders better be since they are lovers...or at least give a good reason why he's not.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
Ah I see. Good really. I like Anders and I find him to be the only redeeming thing about Act 3. But I don't want him to come back in any meaningful way. Time for new blood.
Here's to hoping that mages will have a Magneto kind of leader (and no, I absolutely reject comparing Anders to him).
EDIT: oh and I do want to see Justice again.

Well at least you got some closure with DLC. That would work for meKnightofPhoenix wrote...

Now you know what it feels to be a MorrimancerAnd....you really like Act 3 Anders? Cool.
As a character, yes. I also think he's an insane reckless fool. But an interesting and tragic one.

TBH that would work for me too. Just any explanation as to where he is would work.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

We had no closure, just more questions and little answers, and a choice that will most likely never be relevent but that's OT.
That said, I doubt there will be an Anders DLC considering how there is a 1/2 chance he is dead. Permanently.
The most you can hope for is a letter or a random NPC saying he disapeared / died. But I hope I am wrong.
Yeah, agreed. As much as I like DA2...I don't have much confidence in them for DLC from Origins. Hopefully they do it right this timeipgd wrote...
I'm hoping there isn't any post-game DLC. Given Bioware's, uh, less than consistent track record with DLC, I'd rather they just use it to fill in the gaps in the time skips than try to tackle any substantial post-game plot threads in a DLC. My eballs will shrivel and fall off if we get another Witch Hunt about something I'm actually interested in seeing the conclusion to. Save the big stuff for a proper sequellll

I am very curious as to what will become of Justice. Is he going to go back to the Fade if he's successful in granting the mages freedom? Or is he going to keep coming back trying to right every injustice he sees, like the treatment of the city elves and the casteless? Lots of potential there, I think.
That depends on what a demon is.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

The whole dichotomy between spirits and demons is left pretty ambiguous. Rival!Anders, at least, seems to think Justice already is one.

Yeah, but are those "traditional" demon categories substantial, or are they arbitrary divisions made by mortals who don't really understand the nature of spirits and the Fade? It's a question that's raised in the games but never definitively answered.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
Indeed, but I am not sure Vengeance falls into the "traditional" demon categories.

Yes, and I do nto think Anders is nearly strong enough to control him.
