I love the range of responses everyone has to Anders's actions. We really wanted to create a situation without a clear-cut right and wrong. I wrote Anders, Sebastian, Bethany, Leandra, Elthina and Cullen, so I've certainly seen every side of the argument. Personally, my view of it is that Anders wants to blow up the Chantry AND wants to die for it -- that way he gets the revolution he/Justice believes is necessary, but still gives justice to those who died in the Chantry. Though I like the poetic justice of forcing him to live in the world his actions create.

Hi, Andersians!
I made a romance (um, not sure it's a "tribute" exactly) music video for F!Hawke and Anders set to "Blue" from Cowboy Bebop. I hope you like it. Warning: contains extreme spoilers and nonstandard game ending.
Anders - No black and white in blue
This was not how I ended my playthrough, but I had to go where the song took me.
You almost made me cry!
Oh the Anders romance, my heart can't handle it, but I can't live without it...

I found this in another forum pertaining to Anders and it worries me about if we will ever see Anders again.

Well, Bioware has usually been good with the VERY large decisions players had to make. So I'm hoping that leaving him to live will affect the future story, even if we don't get to play with him again.

Speaking of which, I tried a scene to see if it was like DA:O. He just walked in right after Hawke pulled her shirt over her head and we just went on our merry way.
That must be embarassing.

I won't lie, I am as upset about the Justice/Anders situation because of what it did to Justice as I am sad for Anders. I really, really, really liked Justice in Awakenings.
Personally I don't think Justice is an innocent in all this. Look at the banter in awakenings - he covets Kristoff's life and love, he begins to like being on the mortal plane, he is easily talked into the possibility of possessing a living human being by Nate. The final joining is a very demon-like pact. "I'll give you my power if you let me in"
I think being trapped in Kristoff's body and being trapped in the mortal world started Justice's corruption long before he possessed Anders. When they joined they corrupted each other further.
I agree with everything you said, and that's why it makes me so sad.
I replayed Awakenings right after they announced Anders & Justice had done their thang, and pretty much every banter Justice had with Anders and Nathaniel made me all "waaaaah!" And that was before the game came out and I got to see just how depressing the situation gets.

Yeah true. I just hope for something at least, anything is better than nothing. Even if it is a single line about where he is or what he is doing...lol.

Listening to this might help:
The Anders-Justice banter is near the end.
No talk of possession though. I think that subject has been brought up by another character to Justice.
I also wonder how much of the Anders we know in DA2 is actually Justice. Because DA2 Anders exhibits a lot of restraint: something that Justice would practice not the Anders of Awakening. Also he mentions that Justice does not let him get drunk anymore. It makes me wonder, despite Anders telling you of Justice's disapproval on the romance with Hawke, does Justice also love Hawke? Showing it in a different way: telling Anders to stay away. This also forces the question: does Hawke love Anders, Justice or the composite?
I think by the end of the game Justice and Anders stop clashing and just become one entity, with elements from both the original Anders and the spirit of Justice. That's why even then he still loves Hawke.
As for Hawke, I think (s)he starts by loving Anders as he is, but then ends up loving the composite. If the codex is anything to go by, then Justice doesn't actually affect their romantic relatioship much.

Galagraphia asked on the other Anders thread about his bomb making prowess, and I thought of another bit of foreshadowing. When Bodahn is talking about how nice it is to have Master Anders around ("Master Anders" cracking me up, for some reason), he says that Anders finds Sandal's enchantments "intriguing". Considering Sandal's "Boom!" in the Deep Roads, I found it funny and mildly disturbing to think about.
Master Anders ... Ha!

I'm curious as to why the VA was changed for Anders. I can understand why for Isabella (her DAO VA was Anora's VA), but not so much for Anders.
(Unless it was intended for him to have a much, much sexier voice, because that is definitely a notable difference between DA:A Anders and DA2 Anders. In which case, I approve the change 100%.)
Was it ever mentioned why?

I think it's because Cullen has a much larger role in DA2 and him doing Anders and Cullen at the same time would be really noticable. :>

No specifics. David said that they "had to make a decision", so who knows. It might be because of Cullen's large role in the game, or it might have been the fact that Ellis just didn't work for the direction they wanted to take Anders. I accept the former, less the latter. I think Cullen shows that Ellis can pull off a pretty impressive range of emotion, and Anders had a few lines in Awakening where he definitely managed the sexy.
But it's their game. I've gotten used to Adam Howden by now, and have even come to appreciate how boyishly cute he sounds when he's proposing that he move in with Hawke. It's incredibly endearing. I still think he whiffs the delivery on a few of his funnier lines, but that's where he's the most like Awakening Anders and Ellis definitely shines there. So, biased.

Greg Ellis also voiced Cullen in DA:O, and he comes back as Cullen in DA2, so I assume their reasoning was that with Cullen's larger role, and the fact that more people would have met Cullen in DA:O than Anders in Awakening, it was better to not have them sound very much alike.
Anders has changed so much, I guess they wanted to reflect that in his voice, too, but I think Greg Ellis would have handled that fine. Ah well.

Not that I complain of his new VA...still...hearing Cullen makes you wonder how Anders would have been with Ellis' voice.
Probably though it is true that while everyone heard Cullen, less bought Awakening.

*raises hand*
Other than the UTTER TORMENT of the ending, I really like the way romances were handled in DA2. Especially the friendship / rivalry thing. I would not mind at all if that sort of thing transferred over to ME3.
