The idea is so much crazy fun that I can't imagine Bioware will let us actually live through it. But man, it would be absolutely fabulous if we could.

Been fighting with DA:O Mods - I originally played it on the PS3, before I joined the ranks of the Glorious PC Gamers. I want to re-do my resentful, snarktastic Tabris, now with all the Zevran fixes, but oddly enough it's the chargen that's mucking me up. Used the compiler for the chargenmorphs, but now I've got all these bad references that I'm not sure where they came from in the first place. Modding in DA2 seems so much easier.

That's what I want, too. Actually, I then want Team Flemeth versus Team Morrigan/OGB (maybe Flemeth represents the Old Gods and OGB the new?) This is unlikely, since they've claimed the OGB won't be made canon, but I hope that Morrigan at least makes another appearance.

LOL foreshadowing.
I always laugh at the DA2 codex entry on the Anderfels, too:
The Anderfels are a land of shocking extremes.
-snip-
The Anders, too, are a people of extremes: The most devout priests and the most deadly soldiers, the poorest nation in the world and the most feared.
EDIT: And if its Team Flemeth vs. Team Morrigan, I'm a Flemeth girl all the way. Not only would you be hugely stupid to bet against her, she's just...so awesome.

I'm gonna make a tabris to hook up with zevran later... city elf was always my favourite origin story, but not as fun as a cousland to play throughout the game. i love it every time she's recognised in places you wouldn't expect... unlike the boring city elf reunion; oh it's you. not now. deal with "healers" <_<
i'm a flemeth girl.
i volunteer merrill for "adoption"

There are other ways to change gods, I reckon, even if the OGB isn't cannon in all games (and I don't think it should be, it was a pretty obviously dangerous and crazy decision. I only did it because... I'm an elf, what do I care about having extra gods running around. Good for them, I say. The more the merrier.)
I don't see Flemeth vs. Morrigan as the big showdown, definitely not a clearcut A vs. B. I see Flemeth as more of a... Xanatos Gambit kind of person, where every plan she comes up with ends up with her still alive and in some way learning or benefitting from it (i'll be kind and not link to the TVtropes, you can step into that trap yourself, if you want.)
My biggest frustration is that Anders is dead in so many games, because I think the question of "What the hell is he anymore even?" is the most interesting question in Dragon Age. What happens if a spirit doesn't just posess someone, they merge with them, they become a new thing? The whole "it's like you've brought a piece of the fade into this world" thing with Karl seemed to be a foreshadowing of what hte world would be like if magic returned everywhere for everyone. The tranquil would all just... wake up. The Dwarves would all explode with Enchantment! The elves would all be like awwwwwww yeeeeeeeeeeah!
Argh nobody else seems to care. They're all like "he was a crazy guy," well yes, but he was a crazy guy because he was merged with an anthropomorphic personification of Justice. Justice, who is a living piece of the fade that exists physically in this world! Which is, as far as we know, a thing that has never happened before! Nobody understands me but you, Anders thread.
Today I'm also obsessed with Origins, and the ability to play as a race other than human (something I wonder if we'll ever see again from a Bioware game.) It gives you such a different perspective on everything that goes down, something that I think has been lost on all those players who only ever played as a human, and now as Hawke. I was reading yet another whine thread about the Chantry... oh the pooooor pooooor Chantry and all those innocents and I was like "puhlease, the Chantry destroyed the Dales, slaughtered thousands of innocent elves, and ghettoized the rest. Excuse me if I don't cry for you, Argentina."
I would like it if, at the end of all this, the other races take a bigger position on the world stage. Why do I always end up being vaguely anti-human in fantasy games?
Also: too. Much. Coffee. Apologies for insanity.

Hm. Now that's an idea to chew on: Anders going 'round, and Justicing out, waking up all the Tranquil only for them all to freak out like Karl did and beg to die rather than go back. Good solid proof for the common folk that Tranquility isn't the kindness they might think.

I have a theory that the... souls? or whatever of tranquil are locked away in a part of the tranquil's brain. They can't leave, can't touch the fade, can't move on to the next world. It's like being half conscious, drugged out of sentience for the rest of your life. Only a connection to the Fade can restore you, and... only a creature like JAnders can do that. It's a pity he died for so many before we could figure out what he was or how that worked.
And you KNOW that he's unique becuase posessed mages... normal abominations... don't have any effect on the tranquil. You see tranquil wandering around when the circle tower is full of abominations and... nothing. Not even when the veil has been torn. JAnders is an honest-to-goodness piece of another world, whether good or for ill, and that is not a thing we've ever encountered, as far as I'm aware.

No such thing.
Incidentally I agree with you; I want to know more about the Anders/Justice merger, and what it implies. I also want to know why he was just Justice in the Fade, dangit, and what that implies too (I know, we've been down that road, "idklol").
But since if you kill Anders he stays dead this time, I'm betting we'll never know. Which is crappy, because it also suggests being cut from the Fade is NOT permanent, which could even imply there's a way to reverse the Rite of Tranquility.

Well, so far in every game we've had some kind of mage who it was revealed had some kind of a connection to a Fade Spirit, so even if poor Anders is dead, we could either get more encounteres with a free-roaming (or corpse-riding) Vengeance... or we could meet some other poor sap who has messed with a spirit in yet another new and interesting and horrifying way.
Do we really know how Justice got here in the first place? That's a big, weird question. Could it happen again? Could we do it on purpose? What would happen if a demon went through the same thing, literally got trapped here, instead of reaching through the veil temporarily. Would it be... the opposite of corrupted by the human's positive feelings?
Questions!

True. I'd almost guarantee the answer to the bolded question is "Yes." And I bet the Tevinters, at least, wouldn't object to trying. I'm betting it would take a boatload of power, though, and maybe some blood magic. I need to replay Awakenings, or at least the bit with the being trapped in the Fade.
That whole section was bonkers, like the Sloth demon in the tower. Obviously dwarves CAN enter the Fade, and have done so multiple times. I also suspect Sandal might be proof of dwarven magic users existing...he does, after all, say "NOT enchantment" over the Ogre he (presumeably) had locked in suspended animation there.
Which would mean, really, that the Chantry (and hell, the Circle) don' t really know jack about the Fade, or how spirits and demons work. I want to play as someone from Tevinter next game, where we get a totally different view of these things.
I'd like to see a positively demonic demon get the Justice treatment. Desire, maybe, and then watch what happens when, say, they're confronted with loving the object they originally only wanted for selfish reasons. (Not that love isn't selfish in and of itself, but that's a whole nother argument).

Sub?! I like to run an all-mage crew with a rogue for chests when I'm a mage. Anders and Merrill will slaughter whole waves before I get off more than a couple of spells! And, yeah, haste is awesome. On a rogue, haste is death at Mach 4 (and doubly fun to watch).kromify wrote...

Anders is still my favorite for the scene back at the estate after that quest, although Fenris being awkward was pretty good. Haven't done Isabela's romance yet. Got Merrill this time, and hers was alright-Hawke gets an appropriate irritated "I don't speak elven, Merrill" line.
And I love that Hawke can yell at Aveline too, except then you don't get her story about her father. Ah well.
