Yes! Same with Merrill. Hawke's got the room, it's pretty obvious friends use it as a clubhouse anyways...why not just give 'em a place to crash nightly?

i think that despite all the other stuff the hardest part of romancing anders for me is knowing that poor merrill is gonna be cooped up in her ****hole going eluvinsane

but if i romance her my pity-anders-o-meter is off the charts so

eta: oh i got top! ummmm

I've said this before, but I love that Hawke actually gets to argue with him about it, in addition to the "There wasn't really a potion, was there?" question in the post-sneaking-into-Chantry conversation, (argument's definitely in rivalry romance, don't remember if it's possible in friendship) during his final Questioning Beliefs quest.

Yes, you can still question him about it on Friendship path.

I thank everyone here for showing me how deliciously twisted the rivalry path is.

God I thought about it..and it's so sick and beautiful. Hands down my fav romance. Trying to act like it was pure diminished it's glory (me acting like it was pure not you guys). ^_^

And I'm sugar high so if this post is a little giggly that's why.

I'm actually OK with the Rivalry romance, if you side with the mages at the very end.

I know I know that's not the "real" version of it but the other one just can not do.

My Rivalmance rogue gets to the point where she's like "OK, If I publicly execute Anders, do I get to run this town finally? No? Instead I have to kill a lot of random innocent people to do it? Why can't I just execute this one guy? He's sitting right there and clearly admits to having done it! He's not even going to fight back if we try to execute him! You know what? screw you, screw you, screw you, you're cool, screw you, I'm sidin' with the mages. Anders, you're coming with me."

At which point Anders is like "I will literally never understand women."

Mage-siding rival Anderps still needs different dialogue. Mood whiplash like whoa.

Yeah...that's not right. Way too whiplash like you said.

@CGG: Oh but for my rivalry siding with the templars is the last step to completely breaking Anders for my Hawke. (I'm not even sure if I'll have him romance Anders instead of Fenris. He sees Anders as a fun toy to mess with and see how fast it takes for him to end up a rambling mess when Anders gives that "best friend I ever had" speech he's laughing his ass off inside. Fenris on the other hand will actually last a longer amount of time and serve greater amusement. Plus Fenris already has some subserviant complexes while Anders doesn't have as much and they're not as easy to exploit.)

Basically, recommend me pretty much anything, If I don't like it I won't get mad, and I don't want to set any barriers, because if you'd told me a month ago "hey, you're going to be reading dragonage fic" I would have said you were a god damned liar.

Our lovely Miri was the one that got me hooked on DA fic (I stayed up til after 1 a.m. reading "Caged" the first time ), but I also highly recommend the works of Lupus Yondergirl.  I also love Arsinoe de BlassenvilleShakespira
on fanfiction.net, I don't think their works are posted here though.  Their most popular stories feature Loghain, but Shakespira, has a very interesting Nathaniel/Caron/Anders/Hawke piece going on right now.

Does that mean I've done it wrong if I Friendmance Anders, then execute him and side with the Templars? :(

Nope.

I actually have a Hawke who is contemplating doing that. I'm still stuck at endgame for her, because I don't know which one I want to do (I'll probably do both because I am a coward, like I did for Garrus-romance Kaidan-faithfulness on ME2. Weaaaaak.)

She's my Hawke whose goal is to completely reform Andrasteism from the inside out, freeing mages and restoring the heretical canticles. So at the end of this war, she wants to be a messianic figure, and she's trying to figure out whether killing Anders and siding with the Templars makes a better story, for the purpose of establishing herself as the new prophet of Andraste, or at the very least the new Divine.

If she ends up killing him and siding with the Templars, she is, ironically, doing it for the cause.

I'd say, there is no way doing it right, because the story doesn't make that much sense either way.

Fine KoP. Interrupt with your logic. :crying:

Though yeah how my badass Reaver/Templar slaughtering the entire circle in glee while the dude who started it all goes off and hangs himself proves the templars can be defied is anyone's guess. :?

That's interesting! I'd say that siding with the Templars, then, would do her better... Just because you can still spare the non-blood-mages, and if you gain the Templars' respect to the degree that Cassandra states later, you'd be better able to change them from the inside...

When KoP has to deal with a student association made up of incompetent idiots who wait until the last possible moment to give him the info he needs to work our event out and invite important speakers, and then tell him that they changed the venue and booked a crappy building and now want him to change the list. Then KoP gets tired, and by implication lazy. Which also expains him wanting to take it out on DA2 right now.

All I'm gonna say is levers of history.

Flemeth knows what I'm talkin' about. Awww yeah old magics. Screw the dragon trick, I want to learn the one where you put a piece of your heart somewhere so that when you die someone else can use it to bring you back. And I don't mean the version where you become a lich... the good version.

Much more useful.

(also the dragon trick)

Ha ha ha yeah XD As much as I love it, it's frustrating either way. TBH I don't have a strong attachment to the ending, so much as I do the playthrough up to then...

BTW I have not mentioned this, but Xanatos is one of the most bestest awesomest characters EVAR.

It's almost the opposite. Hawke being pro-mage means that there is someone that mages might be stupid enough to listen to, while Cassandra can try to motivate the Templars, though Seekers are usually hated.

Really, it's would make mroe snese if Hawke is just removed from the equation, and instead have Cassandra be competent and less stupid,
