*giggles* I like the imagery of Andersgoyle running along on all fours, feet padding along the ground, snarling and growling and glowing. "YOU WILL NEVER HURT ANOTHER GARGO--ER, MAGE!"

@soapbubbles: I think that a couple of those things cancel themselves out. If a spirit can rip someone apart with their bare hands, well, a gargoyle can do that already. *scratches head* On the other hand, a gargoyle/golem is more resistant to damage, and when Anders is in Vengeance mode, he's LESS resistant... Hmm. Yes, I think Andersgoyle is OP. *nod*

EDIT: Name fail. D: I am embarrassed.

Andersgoyle gliding into an alleyway where a gargoyle/mage is being kidnapped.  Flying mages are even scarier than mages just running up to you, especially if that flying mage drops onto your head.

Good work, Anders, but Fenris still warrior.

Hahahaha! I can imagine Anders shouting, "Uncle! Uncle! I said UNCLE!"

There are better things I can be doing with my morning. Eating would be one of them....

Justice: Maybe a female body would grant a different perspective.
Anders: I thought you meant after I was dead!

I think Anders thinking he's new the Andraste, is taking it a little too far this time.

*falls off chair seeing the Cone of Shame*

That's exactly like my cat after she came back from the vet. Minus the feathers. I wonder if he'd look like a vacuum cleaner when he eats, too :)

I don't think Flemmeth merged with a demon at all, despite what the stories say.

I think Flemeth merged with the essence of an Old God. In a different manner then Morrigan's baby was created, but still, she is just about everything I'd expect a fusion of mage and Dragon God to be: powerful, immortal, and full of old magics that the rest of the world forgot long ago.

And a dragon. Can't be a dragon god if you're not a dragon.

I've got this niggling feeling that Flemeth's the Dread Wolf.

Naw, the Maker's the Dread Wolf.

I refuse to snip this, because you've killed me with hilariousness. I'm dead. And no, there is nothing better you could have been doing.

Well, both of them did stuff, have similar-sounding names and make for very pretty statues. What more do you need?

Someday in the future, there will be a bunch of Anders statues all over Thedas holding baskets of kittens and  generations of young men and women will be wondering if the statues accurately depict his appearance while staring at them a little too appreciatingly, mark  my words.

If Anders became the next Andraste I think I would die of laughter.

There's absolutely nothing better than doing things like this. It's so wrong, and yet so very, very right.

@Hi-C: So I can blame you then! :D Great.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Anders's fire=hot hand shaking oops-is-it-dead-yet moment when you first meet him in Awakenings is absolutely adorable?

I think it is the precious-est.  Especially since Anders had no fire spells in either of my games...

Also, I hop off the forums for a few weeks to handle a new kitten, and Andersgoyle?  Y'all make me feel normal

That scene is so amazing (the hand -shaking plus not knowing where to put his hands once he realizes he's been caught in the act and is going to have to explain himself) that I have referenced it about ten times in one of my fics. I had a pre-Awakening crush on him from the trailers and whatnot, but that pretty much sealed the deal.

It's the adorablest. That's where all of my previously held prejudices against him turned into a polygon crush.

Now I really want to play Awakenings again. I miss the light tone of it and the lack of genuine viciousness between your companions. Also, my ego gets all warm and fuzzy everytime someone adresses me as "Commander". :P

I'm playing right now and its heartbreaking. "Pretty girl, right here" says my Poor, lonely Amell. "Hey maybe I'm closer then I think!" *anders walks away, Alicia gapes afer him*

Also, Greg vrs Adam = weird. I keep replaying all the dialog in my head with Adam's voice instead ;p

Totally agreed. It's just such a lovely detail to the scene that says a lot about the character.

Also, I always give Anders at least one fire spell in both games, because of that, and because of "suck on a fireball." Also always give him a lightning spell because...well, obviously he has one! Gotta keep things consistant yaknow.

Yeah, Awakenings was a cruel tease in the romance department. They dangle Nate and Anders like candybars in front of our faces, and that particular instance of flirtation is just evil. Pure, unmitigated evil.

And the voice change is a bit jarring. I just... try to imagine that merely being merged with Justice is enough to change his voice, since it deepens even further whenever he is in Vengeance mode, and not really think too hard about it. But still. Weird.

Yes. Definitely this.

Man, I wish that he could have been higher level when you get him in DA2. In DAA, he can do it all the moment you get him. Heal! Destroy! Control! Faster! Higher! Explodier! It's a let down to go from the end of DAA, where he's an unstoppable prince of mayhem, to DA2 where he's no more powerful than a 19 yo apostate.

Look at it this way: Anders in DAA is a Harrowed mage confident in his abilities and well-trained. DA2!Anders is still struggling with control issues related to Justice. It makes sense that he isn't at his best or strongest because every time he uses magic there's a risk he also loses control. So he eases back into it.

Nope, I haven't given this much thought at all. /blatant lies

Delurking, has anyone else noticed in awakenings that Anders is the only companion that bar ends in love and not warm? I found it highly amusing on my last playthrough a few weeks ago.

My headcanon is similar, but it's more about other people knowing how powerful he is. Even the refugees might not be so sweet on him if they knew he could boil their blood with a flick of his wrist, or set a city block on fire in about three seconds time.

Of course, my headcanon also allows for the fact that the templars know damn well who and what he is, but he's allowed to keep doing what he's doing because it's maintaining the refugee situation and nobody else wants to touch it. By the time the Viscount's dead, he's protected by Hawke and untouchable in that regard.

Nathaniel, Justice and Velanna all have the same glitch.

Anders' is the only one I've wanted to make canon.

I was actually looking at Awakenings banters and dialogues while doing Justice research (I need to do a full replay again, but I need to finish my DA:O replay first), and I hadn't realized how cute Nathaniel is before now. Everyone always describes him as grim, but he isn't really grim at all! He's just shy and a little weird, really, and weird in a good way. I was so distracted by Anders in the first playthrough, and everyone was so obsessed with Nate being grim and serious that I totally missed out on his subtlety.

I also miss the Everybody's Kissing Everybody atmosphere in Awakenings. (Ok, not literally) By the end of that game, I felt like I had a proper little Warden family, though most of Velanna's epilogue cards make me sad. Sigrun is still my favorite female party member in any of the games.

Oh, if only in DA3 Nathaniel is a love interest, and then also either Varric or Sigrun. I'm not hoping for both, because Bioware keeps saying they're a little uncertain about Dwarf romances... but give me one of them! This whole "put 'em in one game to see if people want to romance 'em, then make them full-fledged romances" thing has worked so well for Tali, Garrus, and Anders... keep doing it!

Also, if Justice is platonically in love with your Warden at the end of DA:A, that may mean your Warden can help Anders post DA2, because Justice would still trust her. That's all I'm sayin' is all.
