@KoP: Absolutely. Why not? I'd try my best. If it's something I'd like doing anyway of course.

I'll keep it in mind. I have no ideas at the moment.
Much appreciated ^_^

I got Fenris and Isabela mentioned when I had never even recruited Fenris and Isabela left.

At least Anders isn't the only one who does that.

I really like this picture. The colors - especially Anders' robe and the background - are very nicely done!

This .. is.. ADORABLE.:wub: Wil looks completely not-put out for being naked, and Anders looks like he wants to DIE:P

Also? I manage to miss the BEST anders conversations while I'm sleeping, apparently :crying:

Wil: Say, isn't that the new belt you wanted?
Anders: I'd be more interested if I hadn't lost my pants to Isabela. Is my backside getting sunburned?

Back on the subject of the Anders/Justice merger: I honestly wish they'd just gone straight out and made Anders and Justice two people in the same head. It would have been quite a bit simpler, for one. But he makes contradictory statements that simply cannot both be true, and I can't think of any psychological justifications to take Anders's statements describing them as fully merged as the emotionally dishonest ones; in the cases where he ascribes autonomy to Justice, it is almost invariably negative and defensive. Those are the statements I have to find suspect.

That's also the main problem I have with the "spectrum" hypothesis. It's technically possible to be true -- but given that he is very definitive and emphatic when describing Anders/Justice as being fully merged and indiscernible, it also contradicts his statements on that matter. Obviously his wildly incompatible statements mean that the true nature of it would be contradictory to one group of them no matter what, but I cannot find a satisfactory emotional explanation for why he would describe A/J as being fully merged when they are not in the same way I can to explain why he describes Justice as more separate than he actually might be.

Beware the necropost...

I come at this from the other side: Anders describes them as fully merged when he's talking about/doing "good" or at least "good for the cause".  It's like he's ascribing all of his dedication and desire to help people to Justice even though Justice isn't manifesting physically because he thinks he was selfish.  He wants to believe the best of the friend and to justify the decision to merge.  So when he's passionate and committed and selfless he essentially says, "Justice did it, but we're so merged that it looks like just me."

He's taking all of Justice's good qualities into himself and says that they've melded into this fascinating creature.  But when Justice does things beyond the pale and takes the body along for the ride Anders has to admit that maybe they aren't so blended as all that.  He's got self-esteem issues.  :?

Yes, he does that...  A LOT...  I swear, being with Anders must make one feel like being on constant suicide watch.  Even when it's funny!  ;)

I spent the entire game on edge wondering when and how he was going to try to kill himself.  And hoping there would be some way to stop him.  The great light show he put on was almost something of a relief.

Sebastian: "MAKER NO!"
Hawke: "THANK THE MAKER!"
Sebastian: "What?  Are you INSANE?"
Hawke:  "Yes.  No.  Maybe.  But as far as acting out goes.  This, I can work with."
Sebastian: "Acting out?  What are you talking about?"
Hawke: "Anders' suicidal tendencies.  What?  Surely I haven't been the only one noticing it!"
Varric: "Well, I thought that whole pillow thing was a bit odd..."
Fenris: "And those talks about killing oneself to escape slavery..."
Merrill: "He did go from pretty depressed to eerily cheery lately, didn't he?"
Aveline: "He kept taking great personal risks..."
Isabela: "He gave up on threesomes and orgies..."
*Hawke glares*
Isabela: "Wait...  So did you..."  *Gasp*  "Hawke, are you feeling well?"
Anders: "Errr...  I'm right here..."
Sebastian: "Isn't it a bit late to be planning an intervention...  HE KILLED ELTHINA!"
Hawke: "Yeah, but she was married to the Maker anyway.  She's gone to join him and they're both happy now..."
Sebastian: "What about the other victims?"
Hawke: "Look, they're gone, all of them are at peace.  Anders' the one suffering here.  So, what were we saying?"
Sebastian *epic facepalm*

(Labyrinth happens to be one of my favorite movies, and I'm complete NUTS about David Bowie!  Best singer EVER!!!)

That is...not a good look for him.  :D  I'd love to see him in the "Dance Magic Dance" scene, though.  Bowie's bod would look great on Anders.  :kissing:

Edit: He looks eerily like Val Kilmer in this shot, actually.

oh my... i've generally found myself in agreement with ipgd about most things anders, but this interpretation has really given me something to mull over, at least re: how janders diffuses and delineates his behaviors - the psychology behind it, i suppose.

edit: ...and because this is a worthless post, have some syberfox art

BTW I'll do requests sometime if anyone's interested. I like a little outside inspiration now and again.

If you're still willing and able, I'd adore something for my Anders prompt response this week.  I was sure I'd seen something with Hawke and Isabela dancing on tables while Anders pines in the background (and everyone else is cheering) but I couldn't find anything on DA.

And @ademska: that wasn't a worthless post!  It made me happy, if nothing else.  ;) (Not that I don't appreciate the time-out-corner comic!)  And I, too, generally read igpd's posts while nodding and thinking, "Yep, that's what I think, too."

I like that picture. :D Looks like it's raining on him though, so his smile confuses me. o-o

@Ademska:
Hahaha! Time-out. XD My parents used to make us sit on the stairs on the bottom step for time-out. And my dad had this absolutely BRILLIANT thing called "hug time"..... When my brother and I would fight, he'd make us stand there and hug each other. We always ended up joking and laughing. But, we'd quit fighting because we were mutually more mad at him than we were with each other!

@legbamel:
Ooooo, *chews lip* I can do my best. I haven't done anything that complex in a long time, and it would be pretty sketchy (I only have a 9"x12" sketchbook to work with atm). I can do my best over the weekend. :3 Dad is taking me out of town one last time before I fly home on Monday, so I'm not sure how much we're gonna fill up our days. When would you want it by?

@kromify:
inorite? :( I was checking on my phone from a coffee shop and the website yelled at me. "DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE OK?? GTFO AND COME BACK LATER" I was like, wwhhyyyyy??

Whenever you can, honestly.  I just have the image in my head and I would hate to have to resort to my own stick figures to get it out.  :lol:  I was still ten pages behind on this thread when the boards went down.  It was horrible!

LOL!  OMG!  This is SO weird...  :blink:  I saw this the other day:

browse.deviantart.com/

And my comment was "Why does Anders suddenly remind me of Val Kilmer (A very young one... Back in his Madmartigan days...)".  :P

Do you have a good full body screeshot of David's look in the "Dance Magic Dance" scene?

Those I have found so far are pretty bad, unfortunately...
