English is not my first language either. My first language would be the language of poetry unfortunately I am not well versed enough for that.
And oh vous etes Francaise? Ou Quebecoise?
Je parle Francais aussi, c'est ma deusieme langue en fait. Thus, I can only hope to speak from the heart, and pray that my meager endeavours shall allow you to know that I would be receptive to further personal connection.
While I have noticed that your opinions on certain matters are not always as compatible as mine would be with CulturalGeekGirl; or that you may not lust over Val Kilmer as much as beckaliz and I might be naturally inclined to...
You demonstrate a strong will and ability to respect the differences between yourself and others, and you do not seem to be the least bit threatened by said differences. Myself, being a pretty assertive individual that often feels stimulated by respectful opposition, allowing for a broader scope of vision, and personal growth; estimates that such an attitude would make our personal divergences still compatible.
Therefore, should I also appeal to your own expectations of a mutually beneficial relationship... And should my other partners feel comfortable allowing it... I believe that such a relationship could be established through common consent, without diminishing the worth of any of my previous engagements.
Awwww I am flattered
Oh...ahem...I mean...your proposition is highly attractive and while indeed we have differences, it is my opinion which I base on personal experience and studies in social science, that scholarship and anything intellectual that is of worth is the result of respectful disagreements. While I am confident in my abilities related to politics, economics, history and philosophy, I am welll aware of my limitations in other fields and areas which I believe our relationship would be able to overcome, as we mutually benefit from our knowledge and expertise and compensate our limitations and weaknesses.
Very much like a power ranger mega zord, I believe our a multilateral contractual alliance would be able to produce a very powerful social institution.
And, now that you have guessed my own first language correctly… I would feel really bad if I failed to figure out yours! Lol!
Poetry… Poetry… I think it’s still a Latin language, but I’m not 100% sure which one. My first instinct would be to go with Italian. And, of course Google refuses to give me the right answer! <_< Lol! Lol! Lol! So I will have to take a risk, it seems.
Indeed, it would seem that our respective fields of expertise would appear to be complementary; as I am very comfortable with subjects related to psychology, human physiology, epidemiology, philosophy, and popular culture. Our mutual attraction towards behavioral sciences thus suggests the presence of a common interest for the human condition. As a logical result of said observation, we can concur that both parties would have something significant and of personal interest to gain in the union.
Also, the fact that you just used a Power Ranger analogy made me weak in the knees…

Well I don't think it's officially known as the language of poetry, but its poetry is known to be hard and interesting.
My first language is Arabic.

I concur, and I am confident that we would aspire to the same goals, but with possible differences vis-a-vis the methods. However, I am certain that our differences can be delt with in an intellectual and constructive manner

As your acceptance has been established, I would like to extend an invitation to Beckaliz and CGG, requesting that I join your multi-lateral relationship that has intrigued me so. Your equilteral triangle would become a square, which by definition has all points be equidistant (or am I misremebering? Never liked geometry). In any event, I sincerily hope that we will reach a consensus and strive to work for a productive and pleasure enducing arrangement.

We could also find ways to consume our sandwiches side by side instead of eating from the same sandwich...
Or we could cook each other's sandwich and then offer it to each other.
I am sure we can manage to make this work darling!
I think I saw the first Spider-Man 5 times in the movie theaters... The second one 7 times... And the third one 2 times...
I was also disappointed when I heard that they planned on rebooting the series instead of continuing with the next sequel.
As for Peter Parker (movie version)... Hmmm... Let's see...
He spends years pinning for MJ; and when she tries to get into a relationship with him, he initially pushes her away because he is scared that being with him would get her hurt.
He's got... Uh... Great powers thus great responsibilities? Lol!
I would totally cook you an egg sandwich. Es lo que deseo hacer para tí~ Para siempre~ ^____^
Now, that's something I didn't know about I know MJ and Peter had problems after the baby died, but I didn't know he'd pushed her away to begin with. That certainly is similiar to the fear that Anders has of hurting Hawke. Except Hawke is much more competent than MJ is. =P But I wonder if KoP would agree there.
Coming back to the topic of Anders, which others seem to wish to do (
This is an open question. Are there any other super heroes that anyone else thinks Anders shares qualities with?

Well part of the appeal of the character, everything considered, is that he is far from being a super hero.
But if you mean Awakening Anders, I think there is some semblance to Han Solo. The seemingly selfish witty womanizing (and otherwise) scoundrel with the heart of gold. Though I am sure people have better examples in mind. That is the one that popped in my head.
EDIT *facepalm* not sure Solo qualifies as a super hero.
Eumm.... comic book super heroes, I might say the flash when it comes to Awakening Anders.

I'd like to think that revolutionary!Anders wants to be like V, like someone made a parallel a couple days ago, but he lacks the finesse that V has. Also lacks the voice. Although Howden's voice is nice, he doesn't hold a candle to Hugo Weaving.
EDIT: HAHA yeah I guess he wouldn't. But I suppose any hero or anti-hero figure would do.

Yea I don't think he is like V. I am not a huge fan but I cringe when people compare the blowing up of parliament with the blowing up of the Chantry, forgetting that V did the former to do his real Coup de Grace: finding a way to people's hearts.
That's not something Anders did or could have done.

Are we talking movie!V or book!V? Because they're very different characters in many respects and book!V bears a strong resemblance to Anders. Book!V blew up more than just the Parliment and made stronger statements against government and organized religion in general. He was in many ways much less sympathetic than his film portrayal, as well. V's ultimate goal, of course, is anarchy. And like Anders, he doesn't seem to have much of a clear plan to obtain it.
In the book, it's made clear that Britain actually was in anarchy after the nuclear war. It was everything V wanted...and it led to the fascist state Susan (in the movie, Sutler) rules over. Similar to how in Thedas, mages were once outside of the Circle's control and their actions led to the Circle's creation. Neither V nor Anders have any clear plan for preventing this from happening again.
V also took steps to set up a replacement--a better version of himself. That's Evey. She goes through everything V does, but he takes pain to keep her compassionate. Or maybe he doesn't and it just happens inadvertently. That's up for debate depending on your interpretation. But Anders on the friendship path seemingly does something similar with Hawke. Especially a mage!Hawke. He says once or twice that Hawke can be the leader/example people need. It's not super explicit, but a case could be made that Anders wants to groom a better version of himself to lead the rebellion, that he expects to die, expects Hawke to execute him so he'll be seen as a just ruler, and then expects Hawke to carry on his work. Again, on the friendship path.
V is blinded by his need for revenge and justice in the same manner as Anders. He cannot forgive those who ask for mercy, such as Delia (I think I'm remembering this name right; I could be wrong). Like Anders, he keeps his protege in the dark about his ultimate plans and goals. Like Anders, he goes into his last actions prepared to die. And in the book, V is not trying to make himself a hero. He doesn't care that people hate him, just as long as they hate him while living free.
Interestingly, too, the book goes out of its way to portray Susan as a much more sympathetic figure. He's not Elthina sympathetic, but he's a decent guy who cares about his employees and seems to have the best intentions for the state. Even if the way he executes them is a bit suspect. The book has a very nuanced portrayal of good and evil, with the ostensible hero V being much more villainous than most protagonists and the villain Susan being a pretty likeable guy if a bit strange. He's even in love with his computer, Fate, which is explicitly linked to God. He could be seen as a parallel for Elthina and her devotion to the absent Maker. Hell, Fate has more a direct influence than the Maker, so at least Susan's in love with something tangible and real.
Yeah...I did a 25 page thesis on V for Vendetta for my British lit class. It's been a while, but I still know enough to say with some confidence that V and Anders have some distinct similarities.

It's funny that you should mention this, because I had this idea in my head that, at the very end of the manifesto, Anders had written something about the day and the approximate hour where he planned to bomb the Chantry, inviting people to watch (like at the end of "V for Vendetta")...
But, since no one ever READ it, then it came off as a complete surprise to the population! Lol!
