See, the thing is that romances like Anders are usually so NOT my thing in video games.  I like (relatively) functional romances whose issues are fixable or nonexistent.  I like Alistair, Garrus, Miranda--more dramatic romances like Thane or Bishop don't usually do it for me.  They usually make me feel like I'm hitting my head against a wall.

But Anders...Anders stole my heart with his adorable sad abomination eyes.  I know he's dangerous.  I know Hawke will never be first in his priorities, no matter how much he loves her.  And I don't care.

I just forced myself to playthrough the Fen romance with my snark mage. Fen's romance is okay but it lacks that OOMPH the Anders romance has. 

Now off to remake my smark aleck mage into a smart aleck rogue for Anders!

Then when Torpor shows up he just warns Hawke of what kind of demon it is. The rest is just letting Hawke know what type of demons they face.

As for when he's pissed off. Imagine him actually screaming this:

At least Kaya will finally get to spend some time with him. Even if he's too focused on the mission to talk much.

I'm glad he retains at least some of the snark in DA2.  It would've been a lot harder to like him if he didn't.

This is me too. I romanced Alistair and Garrus as well and thus was confused by my obsession with Anders. I have since given up trying to understand it and decided to just embrace the madness.

I tried to start the Fenris romance. When the hell does he sleep with you? I've done the personal quest and he just went away! Am I going to come home after the Anders' quest and find BOTH of them in my bedroom?? (not that I'd object). Oh, and I flirted with Isabela and she turned up in my living room and came onto me IN FRONT OF MY MUM. And then when I had sex with her I went downstairs and SEBASTIAN was there. PERVERT.
