Eddie Izzard =
And now that you've compared this odd made-up Hawke to Eddie, I quite fancy him now. Even sounds like him, vaguely.
EDIT: And it wouldn't be cake-or-death, it'd be kitten-or-death. For Anders.

I get the impression that I'm one of the few people that doesn't have a problem with the way Anders speaks to an f!Hawke.
Why wouldn't he warn her off explicitly? He hurt Namaya to the extent that in DAA that she baited the trap for the templars. From this scant information I presume he's broken his share of hearts and he makes an assumption based on past experience, because that's what you do (when you've known someone for what amounts to a week max in terms of the game). So he's read some f!Hawke's wrong? So what? I gather there are plenty of players who either took his warning seriously, or who just didn't go there. (Although why you wouldn't, I don't know.
I also don't have a problem with an f!Hawke taking his word as final at that point. IRL if someone flirted with me and I shut them down, I'd hope they'd understand and leave it at that, otherwise it gets all kinds of awkward... which it pretty much does if you keep flirting with Anders after that.
Edit I meant to say as well, that I find Anders's warnings to both genders being more reasons to himself why he shouldn't get involved.

I mean he pretty much forces you to continue to flirt simply because his warning is like begging you to continue probing. Why would you hurt me? Is it so bad? Come on... kind of deal.

If his first conversation is any indication of his flirting pattern with Lady Hawke throughout the first act, Anders must be profoundly aggravating to deal with. "I like you! But I'll hurt you! You have pretty eyes? Wait, no, I shouldn't go there. Have I ever told you I'd like to see you naked? *slaps hand* NO ANDERS BAD ANDERS."
It's why I usually roleplay my characters as sort of giving up after a while and trying someone who actually makes an ounce of sense and then ending up with Anders afterwards. It plays out a little like a screwed up romantic comedy. I prefer Isabela's romance outfit over her normal one, anyway.

When I do my anders playthroughs now this is exactly what I do ;p I go "Oh Anders!" and he's all "... no don't, srsly. It'll be bad." and Hawke's all "... F U DUDE I WILL FLIRT AND YOU WILL LIKE IT YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO" and Anders is like "But.. No I can't I am not a man you should love. *arms length*"
and then there's heated kissy-scenes and anders running away and then deep roads and Carver dies and its ALL HIS FAULT FOR NOT COMMING ANDERS!
and I find solace in Fenris, who RUNS AWAY LIKE A JERK and Hawke goes sobbing to Anders.
I need more coffee... or maybe less cofffee...

This! Maker, this.
All of it.
And Isabela's romance outfit is awesome...as is the fact that she and Fenris kinda match in Act 3.

I didn't see this 'til I woke up this morning. Nice! I love that Anders is in Hawke's shirt in the second one (though I think that Hawke's talking way too much to possibly be Mr. I'm-Not-Acknowledging-A-Darn-Thing Noah.)

More coffee. Way more coffee. And bags of chocolate. With enough of these, you can write a hundred fics at once and set your apartment on fire with your eyes.

Yes! <3 I love the fact that Fenris and Isabela sort of hook up if you don't romance either of them, even if it's just a friends-with-benefits deal. And also that Aveline marries and that her relationship with Donnic is referenced by the other characters. It's a nice touch that the companions' sex life doesn't begin and end with Hawke, I think.

Rofl I actually have bags of chocolate sitting patiently in my freezer, because dark chocolate is better frozen. *nod* I'ma bout a quarter finished with chapter one, and I haven't yet decided if I'll do any more, especially considering I keep procrastiating chapster.. 5? of my Tabris/Zev/Alistair lurve triangle et a la story ;p Which I'm about half way done with and I keep putting off because of the folks in this thread and my need for writing something Anders-ee.
EDIT: wtf, chapster? I DO need to lay off the coffee

that said, i have seen all the act 1 female options and played ten billion male ones, and you're oversimplifying.FieryDove wrote...
all that stuff
highcastle's interpretation is predicated on the understanding that by mentioning karl's fate, anders has already given m!hawke fair warning through brutal action about the possible fate of anders' lovers. remember, hawke watched him kill karl. so it's not just a "conversation" he's having with hawke.
even still, in act 2, the overtones of protectiveness are more subtle, but if m!hawke isn't a rogue he still warns him consistently about his own incredibly focused nature. it's not like there's no forewarning of danger or how ****ty anders' life is.
He doesn't just show and tell about Karl. Both Hawke's see what happened to Karl, only malehawke knows they were more than friends from conversation. And the conversation I listed in question that according to you is over simplified also tells the plight of mages and how templars see them. (Even if your a mage he'll just add at the start "You know how it is" before getting all long winded and glowy)
See that's bad no glow for femhawke unless Rival. That part is very unfair. imho
Anyhow...I was just saying this could be a reason some people think of Anders in a certain way, or maybe they played DAA and got impressions from there. We many never know...along with what the writer really intended.
I don't think we'll ever see him again in the DAverse since so many people dislike/kill him. I hold out slim hope that one day Justice and Anders can be parted and they both return to some form of old selves. They were my wardens best buds. (They even *loved* him/her) according to the meter. lol

Yeah, there are - but I still hate it. It breaks up everything I like about the normal outfit. I kind of wish there was a way to get rid of it.

THAT'S LIKE YOUR OPINION MAN.
Personally, I like the costume changes in everyone, except maybe Merrill. Her white robes are pretty, but without her scarf something's just not right.

Oh there is. 4 months ago it was a lot tougher (mostly from lack of info), but given what we know now, not so much. That said, I still like it. The subtle changes to the outfit make me think of the subtle changes to her character when she's romanced. Besides, I like the red sash.

Isabela offtopicness is the main reason I come to this thread. The other is to occasionally see people debate about the crazy guy. Personally, my favorite pairing with Anders is the murder knife. 2gether 4ever. <3
