The only problem is that his speech doesn't differ from Friendmance to Rivalmance when siding with the mages.  There should be SOMETHING there that acknowledges the different paths.

Well, he is fairly delusional in a lot of cases, both on friendship and rivalry paths. He's also pretty insecure about his merger with Justice so if you're very strongly against that and you think he was an idiot for doing that, he might take it too far and take the position that you're also against everything he believes in in general.

Edit: Omgaaaawd I will never not have the desire to do some voice acting in my life even if I had to do embarrassing little smoochy noises omnomomomomom.

Edit for top:

Self promotion, OH SNAP!

Still... little makeout noises. So sexy. I still feel a tightness in my chest during that scene. There is something seriously wrong with me.

It's not the embarrassment that makes me wonder, it's the technique. Is their foley involved? Is he like, kissing his own arm into the mic? Are the sounds he made actually that loud in relation to the dialogue, or were they amplified in comparison to make them more audible, like they would be if he were really that close?

These are the things I think as an actor, even though I haven't been one for many years and only did voiceover for radio and fanworks.

I believe he said at one point that he was kissing his hand. Beyond that, I don't know what sort of techniques they used. I would assume they would have had to amplify it unless he's a very loud hand kisser.

This thread makes me talk about things I never thought I would.

My incorrect their/there keeps getting quoted. I have displeased the grammar gods, and they seek to shame me.

Man, I almost misspelled grammar there. I must be sick.

Tsk, tsk. We all do it, and somebody usually quotes it.

Edit: And I would have paid a dollar to see the look on his face when he read the script for that part. Posted Image

I'd pay a doller for vidieo of him doing it .:bandit::whistle:

So hot.

Also, shamless mention of updated story should anyone be following it. The Tabris/Zevran one, not the Angel/Fenris one. :innocent:

You know, I've wanted to be a voice actor for some time, and if I had to do something like that I would, even if it took me awhile to get comfortable with it. I'm actually planning on going to acting classes after I finish college.

But yes, I would have also paid to see him read his script for the first time.

College is the best time to do acting! Seriously see if there are plays you can be in, and be in them. Even if you're just a bit part actor.

I was basically the female version of a character actor throughout high school and college: too short and goofy to be a leading lady, always cast as old women, children, and completely insane people.

Aghhh, I love acting. Truly has always been my passion since I was little but I'm not going for an acting degree, I just started college like last year. Makes me sad I haven't done any plays in quite a while but I figured getting a more "normal" degree would be prudent...Mass Communications/Electronic Media (broadcast journalism) seemed like something I could enjoy that's not too terribly different. I do need to try to get more involved though with the theatre department, it just is sort of difficult since I'm not in the same major - feel like it's impossible to get information about things and you're auditioning against people who are actually in the degree and know the teachers. But I still have plenty of time left to figure these things out lol.

But, yes, I thought about how he did those kissing noises...and I also actually wondered if he did it himself. ALL the other kissing scenes have no noises, so it just made me wonder if the voice actor pretty much took that upon himself or if he was specifically asked to make the noises. I guess he might have been, since compared to the other scenes that kiss was a lot more intimate. That's some serious hand-kissing though, props to him.

Things are by no means simple with Fenris, he's way too damaged, but it's more...peaceful, I guess?

I suppose three years alone, wondering if the guy is ever going to be willing to even talk about what happend could be considered peaceful. To be fair, even if he had attempted it, my Fenris-attempting Hawke would not have listened. After the way he left, nothing he could say would have convinced her that he was worth the wait.

Real life standards don't apply to game romances, I know. If I met a guy like Anders in real life, I would probably run away screaming. Or maybe not. He is very sweet, a former player off his game in a way that's actually painful to watch. I just might give in. Though I definitely would not let him move in right away. But then again, if I knew that he had to step over junkies on his way home from my place, I just might. And then, after three years of hapiness together, I would not dream of abandoning someone because their mental illness was worsening. In sickness and in health and all. The problem, and the beauty, of Anders's romance is that taken individually, each step of the journey is not too big a leap. It is only when the entire thing is viewed as a whole that the trainwreck is visible for what it is. And that's why it's awesome.

In real life, if a guy slammed me against a wall, it would lead to a night in a police station holding cell, not sexytimes. And if somebody dumped me after sex, that would be the last they saw of me, so the half-hearted apology three years later would never have happened.

I head canon Fenris and Hawke talking about what happened when Fenris comes to the mansion after Leandra is killed (which of course doesn't happen if you moe on after he leaves).  But Hadriana and the flash of his memories all happens within a single day which is a lot for anyone to take.  As for the wall "slam", I don't get how anyone sees that as abusive rather than an expression of passion.

I have to agree that the dialogue for their "getting back together" is weak but Hawke has equally stupid discussions with Anders (the "I want you right here with me forever" line strikes me as the worst) and if anyone ever threatened to drown us in blood I'd be more likely to seek a restraining order than think "oh, you do love me!"

And, to respond to another of your posts, Fenris sides with you if you have his friend or rivalry score high enough and fights at your side FOR the mages.  I'm not sure why you are so hostile to him but sheesh, that wsa over the top.  It reminds me a lot of the Anders hate you find on other threads around the forum.  I thought this was a sanctuary of peace and rainbows.

According to Hepler...the "pants" was part of the script.

I remember reading that here. Not complaining! It was just another of those quirky, funny moments that make the romance so enjoyable.

How would you like to have been the voice director that had to describe exactly how it was supposed to go?

I would have asked if I was supposed to say "pants" in an undertone for some psychotic reason unclear at that point in the story. Perhaps I'd have thought it a subliminal plea that mages be allowed to wear pants or begging for Hawke to remove his or hers. :P

Hah, well the only actual acting I've done was in theater class in highschool, even though I did well in it I still shied away from being in any of the shows, and I really have no idea where to look to even be an extra :P Plus, I know I'm too big to be a leading lady, that and they'd get tons of nervous laughter from me at first, which is why I'd rather be a voice actor. I do love me some acting though!

Lmao, this is probably what I would have done too, deep down knowing that that was far from what it actually meant in the script. I wonder if it said something like "Make out with your hand and make some excessive panting noises." Or something along those lines.

That made me smile, as soon as it started playing I knew I was going to love it. XD It reminds me of some other song, but I can't put my finger on it.

You think so? His nose always kind of bugged me, especially because he always does that annoyed squinty eyes face where he like pulls his nose up or something. I don't know how to describe it, but he does it like in every scene of the game lol. His nose juts out pretty far.

Anders' nose is a sacred thing.

Seriously...it is an awesome nose. I judge fanart by how well they interpret it. :?

I like his nose.  It's big, but it's a good kind of big.  It's not a bulbous, squishy-looking nose.  It's nice and beaky, which gives him this bird of prey look.  Mmm.
