You think so? His nose always kind of bugged me, especially because he always does that annoyed squinty eyes face where he like pulls his nose up or something. I don't know how to describe it, but he does it like in every scene of the game lol. His nose juts out pretty far.

Anders' nose is a sacred thing.

Seriously...it is an awesome nose. I judge fanart by how well they interpret it. :?

You mean this face? I ADORE this face  But like Surely, I'm guilty of nose gazing

edit; typos! and wow that was a fortuitous top

I'm relieved that I'm not the only one who does that. :D

Haha, I'm not saying he's like got some weirdo nose or something. Usually it just bugged me how he always scrunched it up. Here, I'll make it up to you guys.

I like his nose.  It's big, but it's a good kind of big.  It's not a bulbous, squishy-looking nose.  It's nice and beaky, which gives him this bird of prey look.  Mmm.

To quote the film "Roxanne", "You know what they say about the size of a man's nose and the size of his..."

Oh, on a side note...I know if you tell Anders to leave (on friendship and siding with mages) that he comes back to fight, right? I was wondering is there like a cutscene, what does he say?

He's just standing with the others at the Gallows, and he basically asks if it would be horrible if he helped Hawke out. It's actually an almost charming exchange, IIRC. Then it segues into the usual Gallows dialogue and you can either say you'll run away together, or tell him he's on his own.

Ahh okay. Thanks! I'll do it just for the extra cutscene hehe.

There's no cut scene, you just see him standing around with everyone and you can go talk to him.

Edit: D'OH!!

Yeah. I misread that. Whoops. Okay, well regardless I'll still do it. lol

Ahhh, Templars gathering around Hawke and friends.. then all of them turning and simply walking away from a burning Kirkwall (with Anders in tow) never gets old to me. I love that last bit, so much more than the Templar ending where they bow to Hawke.

I don't know if this was brought up before, but I was replaying Origins for ****s and giggles and after doing the Dalish questline. I have to wonder if the Lady of the Forest wasn't a Vengeance spirit, or something similar. I mean she one brought fourth what the Keeper thought was Justice, she doesn't seem to be demon like in the sense of how we normally see demons, which is kinda how Justice is in 2. He is impulsive like one, but he core doesn't seem to be changed. I mention this as that could mean there is hope for Anders, and more so Justice. Not to go back to what he was or anything, but calm down or learn to harness his anger better

Wow I kinda went Sith there for a moment...

Nah. The spirit of the forest calms down too quickly for me to peg her as Vengeance. And she's reluctant to attack the elves.

I want to believe there is hope for Anders, and even on the rivalry path I wanted to believe it. However, on the rivalry path I never see Anders as being able to recover from something like that.

There is more hope if you side with the mages, but as discussed it is going to take some major mind mumbo jumbo voodoo medicine (dalish, rivain, tevinter, etc.) to even attempt to help him. That is, if he even makes it that far afterwards since he is so broken and torn up beforehand. I don't even know what kind of relationship you can have afterwards. He is going to be completely torn, still blacking out, maker knows. Or perhaps allowing Justice to do what he needed to do with the Chantry will calm him somewhat and Anders will be able to regain control of himself more?

I want to believe Anders has a chance, but I absolutely can't on the Templar playthrough. I am willing to not kill him on any other playthrough.

Also, doesn't Anders betray you as well if you side with the Templars and have him friended -- even on a romance? I'm just wondering because I did have to kill him in one playthrough where I sided with the Templars and let him go, but he was all "F' YOU..!" even though we had been best buds. I think I ended up reloading that one and siding with the mages because I didn't want to kill him, LOL.

Yes Anders attacks Hawke (friend or rival I believe) if you let him go and side with the templars.

A fitting end for many of my playthroughs.

Edit: And I can not resist programming Carver to go after whoever attacks his mage brother. Protective but argumentative younger siblings are my fav.

I don't see the Lady of the Forest being anything more than... Well, I wouldn't say she fits the same, ah, idiom as one of the Fade spirits like Justice. If idiom is the right word you'd use for it.

I'm debating whether to really see Justice as being literally Vengeance, actually. I think he just gets pissed off and irrational and inherits the most extreme traits of Anders's bipolar-ness. Paranoia being one of them. So his paranoia makes him irrational. And his own traits are made more extreme. Like in a fisheye lens. :3?

Like I said I don't think his core idea has changed, just being in a living person who as suffered he start going off emotion so he becomes vengeance.  He seeks justice by any means, because what the world he is in considers justice has failed.  Because in the Fade he was like the old Justice and so cranky.

So basically Justice is encountering human emotions in full and not as a memory and he is having issues dealing with them...oh gods he is a teenager!

I also love that face, and his nose. If his nose isn't right in fanart I don't really even see it as Anders. >_>

Gah, I wanted to do something for this week's prompt, but it's been over 95F in my house for the last 3 days. Can't even think, let alone write anything worth reading.

Is it allowed to go back and do stuff for old prompts?

Mmmmhm, I don't mean any offence with this and please delete, if I am not allowed to say it, but
has anybode else seen those scary similarities to the Oslo bombings?
  • the assassin's name is Anders (which is the Scandinavian version of Andrew, so it's pretty common, yes)
  • he looks quite similar to Anders (again, pretty average blonde Norwegian)
  • he blew up a public building
  • out of extremist religious reasons
I know, its totally by chance, but it scares me, just how small our world is that this can be so similar...
And of course the media are already yelling 'ahhr, he played killer games', I am glad in this context that he played WoW and not Dragon Age, I can tell you.

My condolences to the suffering families.

Actually, considering the changes to the CC, his nose doesn't look as if it has changed much.

You're the first I've seen, but it will not be long now until it goes viral. It never takes long. Unfortunately. Given the recentness and the magnitude of the attack, I can understand why you might feel that posting a comparison might be poorly received, but this thread is remarkably tolerant of potentially contentious topics. As long as you don't criticize Fenris.Posted Image

So I totally just did the start of "Act of Mercy" with my Andersmace Rogue!Hawke, and as I diplomatically agreed to help, Anders spun his head around with this look like, "OMG I love you so very hard right now. Oops! shouldn't be staring adoringly at her!"

;p
