I noticed the coincedence myself. I was thinking, oh dear, his name just had to be Anders.sannenschein wrote...

has anybode else seen those scary similarities to the Oslo bombings?I know, its totally by chance, but it scares me, just how small our world is that this can be so similar...
- the assassin's name is Anders (which is the Scandinavian version of Andrew, so it's pretty common, yes)
- he looks quite similar to Anders (again, pretty average blonde Norwegian)
- he blew up a public building
- out of extremist religious reasons
And of course the media are already yelling 'ahhr, he played killer games', I am glad in this context that he played WoW and not Dragon Age, I can tell you.
My condolences to the suffering families.

Yeah, that's a definite *melts* moment. I've been trying to capture it in screenshots forever, with no luck. I always get him with his eyes shut looking like he's about to sneeze or something. Fortunately, others more dextrous than I have managed it.Heidenreich wrote...
So I totally just did the start of "Act of Mercy" with my Andersmace Rogue!Hawke, and as I diplomatically agreed to help, Anders spun his head around with this look like, "OMG I love you so very hard right now. Oops! shouldn't be staring adoringly at her!"

My favourite moment in the whole game is his reaction to the flirt option in 'Key to my Heart'. I turn into a flaily melty puddle at that smirk and the swagger.
Me too. Me too.
And then I mentally add, "And then, Anders and Hawke did it up against a wall, and were in the throes of mad passion until Sandal ascended the stairs, shouting, "BOOM!""
So they went in the bedroom instead.
The end.
Actually, that's a pretty good plot bunny. I should write that.

Wait, what were you saying?
LOL I have sorta been like that since I got a beta key for the MMO
I didn't get a beta key, but I did pre-order the CE.
I think the lady of the forest is just a spirit that was cursed by Zathrian. The curse binds her, and she wants her freedom. Her nature may be wild, but the curse drove her to violence. So in some respects this is like Anders anger corrupting Justice; Zathrian's vengence corrupts a spirit of the forest. The difference is that Zathrian uses magic to do this deliberatley. Anders corruption of Justice was unintentional.

So, KOP what is your take on the Norwegian Anders? You are more savy on the topic than i am and I would really love to hear your opinion.
Edit: I should say politics. Plus I don't watch the news.
It's too political and off-topic, don't want to derail the thread.
Furthermore, I know little of Norwegian politics, though I am sure it's interesting.
What I doubt is that he worked alone.
If you're interested, I can pm you some articles I read.

Wait you got the beta key for Old Republic? I thought testing hadn't even begun yet. Is it any good?
Oh, and...yeah - I've not heard much about this Norway guy and I'm not sure his motivations are that clearly known yet. I don't really get it - he killed a bunch of youths at some summer camp having to do with The Labor Party...along with the bombing.
And, let's not call him Anders because then I'll creep myself out even more over being an Anders fan. >.< Call him...Norway Terrorist Guy...or something..oh nevermind.
I know, its totally by chance, but it scares me, just how small our world is that this can be so similar...

I've missed most the stuff about him on tv...but they called WoW a "killer game"? What in the world does that have to do with anything. Millions of people play that game and they aren't terrorists. The correlation between video games and killing has always really annoyed me about the media.."OH, he played a FPS game! He wants to kill people!"

I always play through Key To Your Heart a few times, because Of COURSE I love the sexytimes and the smirk and the way he approaches Hawke ... but I also like being able to tell him I love him.

As so the bombings, Honestly, I think it is a bit of an over imagination. You can draw similarities to almost anything if you want them to be there. Also Anders is from the Anderfel's which is based off Germany and northern Europe, so yes he has a common name for his homeland, based off a real place. Also what he did can be linked to many things.
Like I said you can draw lines if you want them to be there.
Also I love the look Anders give Hawke in An Act for Mercy! It's so cute!!!

Anddd, wtf Amon! What is it like?? I've been really curious about it, I used to play WoW a lot, and then a lot off and on, haven't in a few months though...but I thought Old Republic looked like it was going to be pretty good. Most other MMO's don't interest me, they either look too tedious and their PvP is no good. I know they are really advertising this MMO as having "the whole package" including good story. Can you give me any details on what you've experienced so far?

Man, I guess I must have always missed that look in Act of Mercy. I swear, I keep wanting to replay DA2 over and over. Oh and, yes it's upsetting the key to heart flirt scene was cut off so soon. His smirk is pretty great though. He suddenly decides being paranoid about the Knight-Commander hearing his every word isn't as important as jumping Hawke's bones.
