He's blonde.

That's really the only physical similarity I see.

^^^ All Anysa Hawke, I actually haven't finshed that playthrough yet ;p

Warrior!Angel Hawke knows you're there, you creeper! Also Anders is staring at her rear.
Posted Image

And, Anders/Aveline/Fenris are so proud of Mage!Angel! By far one of my favorite Anders-smirk-shots!
Posted Image

AND, well since I'm spaming pictures

Posted Image
This is my actual Canon-Andersmance, Angelica (In her mage playthrough, which in Canon she's a rogue, and at this point in the game has VERY short hair ;p)

Posted Image
And you all know Angel :innocent:

Everybody has such great screenshots. Need to play more. I had a lot, but then my computer caught a virus and I had to reformat. Lost all of them. And great Anders smirk!

Edit: Wait, that isn't true, there's this one.

This is my current post-campaign save.

**SNIP PICTURE**

It just looks like Hawke and Anders are going to hang out at the Hawke Estate foreeeever. Except of course, the post-campaign save is just before the endgame events, so Stuff hasn't Gone Down yet, but is about to.

Hawke: I fancy a quiet night in tonight.
Anders: Erm....

Ok, see, this is the thing. The post-game saves. They are supposed to be right before the endgame events. In theory. You can mess around with stuff, and you can still visit the Black Emporium. (Don't know about PC, I play on 360.)

There's no way that the save is actually before end-game, because Anders is missing and Bethany is once again in my party.

EDIT: Wow, this sounds confrontational, and I swear that's not what I was thinking. o_o;;; Sorry! It's more I'm confused about the way they've done it.

I am sure he was inspired by that in his Chantry explosion antic.

No, I quite agree! It's bizarre indeed. Unfortunately, I had to kill Fenris in the Gallows because I hadn't got his rivalry or friendship high enough ... but he should still be in my post-game save as it's before that ... but he isn't, because he's dead. It seems to exist in some sort of weird flux between just before the events of the endgame and after it. o_O

The first time I played, I almost never used Fenris. I had his metre close to the middle but leaning more towards friendship at the end. I also never got any other personal gifts or quests for him besides recruitment.

He still sided with my Hawke after being asked.

The closest thing I have to a picture of my Hawke and Anders on hand at the moment.

Now I shall weep over playing on the xbox since it means I don't have anything better than that. So instead I'll post the next closest thing I have to a Hawke/Anders screenshot:

It still makes me giggle.

Friend!Fenris will side with the mages more readily than rival!Fenris, I think. My second PT, I ran a 2H warrior and almost never used Fenris as a result. He was between midline and 50% rival and I had to kill him. Unless it's sporadically buggy? It looks as if some of the endings were.

I've heard different things about the conversation where you can convince Fenris to come back. Apparently a dev at one point said that all that was necessary was for you to have had a conversation with him about slavery at some point in the game. Someone on these boards said that you just need to have completed his Act 3 questioning beliefs. I've never seen any solid information on this, but I have anecdotal evidence of quite a few people who had him nowhere near friend or rival but who got the conversation. I'm not sure if it's bugged, or the dialogue option that triggers it is deeply buried, or what.

I've heard that for him to side with you originally, he has to be 80% friend or 100% rival. No confirmation on that, either. I wish there was solid information about it.

@CGG: How do you get that if you don't get friendship/rivalry enough to get the right QB? .......... Unless it's when you take him to the Gallows in Act 1?

I've never had a problem with getting Fenris to side with me in the end, but he's usually at 100% friend with me by the end. The only person I can't seem to get to side with me is Sebastian, he must really hate Anders. Pfft, and who knows why, right?

/sarcasm

Though seriously, I had a bug today where Carver called me his brother when I was doing the Find Nathaniel quest, it made me a giggle a bit to myself since my lady hawke just let it go~

Hey Anders thread. First time poster here.

Anders was one of my favorite characters in DA:A. He was so delightfully snarky. And listening to the banters between him and Justice are chilling after the events of DA2. Unlike other people, I think the transition from DA:A to DA2 is very believable. He took a spirit into his body and it changed him but not completely. There is still a lot of the old Anders left in Act 1 but his humor is much darker.

As the years pass he slowly looses the old Anders almost completely. he becomes completely consumed by the mage cause. Dissent was a very well done quest and I think it really shows how much he has lost it by Act 2. It only gets worse in Act 3 where he IS the mage cause. Anders and the mage cause have become practically synonymous by Act 3. This is where my Hawke's patience for Anders was lost. Kirkwall was one giant mindf*ck and Anders lost a lot of respect from my Hawke when he tried to blackmail him. My Hawke was very sympathetic toward the mage cause, but did not believe in solving the issue with blood like Anders did. When he blew up the Chantry, that was the last straw (hehe cwhatididthar) for my Hawke. He felt that he was betrayed by his friend.

He agonized over what to do with his former good friend Anders. In the end he decided that he had to pay for his crimes and gave Anders the death that Anders was ready for. He couldn't trust Anders ever again nor could he lock him up. He felt his hands were tied. Anders killed a lot of people with that explosion and effectively started a war. It was a decision my Hawke questioned everyday after that day and it was a tough decision for me to make as the player. If you can excuse the crude metaphor, my Hawke saw Anders as a rabid dog who had to be put down so that he couldn't hurt anyone else.
Very hard decision to make because I find him a fascinating character, but ultimately I do what is in-character for my Hawke. In the end Anders is a very well written character and I like what they did with him.

I understand that my opinion is not popular here but please do not confuse this post as trolling. (I don't know what this thread is like, this is just precautionary)

Lots of people here have killed Anders at least once. I myself have never done it, but I sure wished I had, that time I did the rivalry thing.
