The connection falls apart when you read the rest of the information and find out he's been planning to do this for years, years before DAO or DA2 was even released.

Correlation does not equal causation, but apparently Mr. Brogan doesn't get that.

@Heidenreich You can get a lot of nice rivalry points if, before Bitter Pill, you tell him you'll go after the slavers later. Then after they attack you in town and he says OMG THIS IS UR FAULT you tell him to watch his tone. That way you can, mm, not support slavers and not hate on mages and still get the points.

ANDERS, man, HE is easy to get points with. IMO anyway.

All the companions are really.
In my last game I maxed Fenris and Anders rivalry pre deep roads.
I had Isabela and Varric past 60% rival.

Aveline was maxed on the friend scale.

You see...when a man hates life very, very much, sometimes he wants to destroy everything that's good about the world.

So he rivals Varric. Because he hates happiness.

Fortunately, Anders will be there to pick up the pieces of Varric's shattered self-image.

Actually this is my one and only run when I do it.
I just want to see what its like.

Also trying to keep to the Aggresive personality is tricky since I almost start slipping into snarky at times.

Lmao, the end of that comic with Anders... Oh my god, I just imagined him saying 'teehee'.

I... I don't think I can do this anymore.  I can't stop laughing. (Though that may be partly because I was watching a bunch of Anders videos on youtube with the Closed Captioning on.)

I tried rivaling Varric in my aggro!Hawke playthrough and somehow couldn't manage it. That guy just kinda liked most of what that **** did for some reason . . . Rivaling Anders and Fenris was easy as pie, though, same with Isabella. Aveline was trickier, and then there was Merrill . . . poor Merrill apparently liked the abuse so much she moved in with him. Killing Justice in the Fade was hard for me, but at least I got to see the demon call him a prig.

Aw, that's perfect!

And it's funny you chose that scene. I just wrote it not ten minutes ago!

Since Kindred Spirits is Iain Hawke's journal, it is written in the past tense, for the most part. He is recounting the events of the day. Sometimes, he slips into the present tense, though, because he is writing about the thoughts he is having as he writes.

Yeah I'll let you know. :D

Mmm, so you DO want a sandwich... I guess that answers that question!

It is an egg salad sandwich. I figure Anders likes egg salad sandwiches. But I don't have justification for that opinion. Aside from the fact that I like egg salad sandwiches. XD

Hah! Egg salad is good. Yeah, that line always makes me laugh. I felt like they really overdid some of Hawke's lines in that scene. I know people flip about him moving in right afterward, but that didn't bother me so much as "I WANT YOU RIGHT HERE. UNTIL THE DAY WE DIE!"

Like, wtf Hawke. That line is way worse than like anything else Anders says imo. His "drown in blood" line isn't even as bad as that. I think that line really bothers people though because he says it like on their third conversation, but in reality he's already known Hawke for 3 years so I was like, eh. He's protective, and uh, completely in love with Hawke. lol

In fact, I can't stop laughing now just about how ridiculous that freaking line is. "DON'T EVER LEAVE THIS HOUSE, ANDERS. I WANT YOU HERE UNTIL THE DAY WE BOTH DIE!"

Ahh, so messed up.

I just pretend that Hawke is mocking him
Badly

Is there a specific time stated anywhere about when the DLC is supposed to come out?

I didn't see Justice's actions as demon like. He was quite upset and scared when he first got out of the fade, He didn't want you to kill him because he was unsure if he would return to the Fade at that point. No spirit or demon wants to die, that is a survival thing and I am sure they all have it.

Outside of that he struck me kinda like a child, he doesn't know emotions, he only knows the extremes of them. He looks to the Warden for console to make sure he is making the right choices to further explain things. My Warden was really nice to him and held his hand, in the end when he speaks of envying Kristoff's love for his wife, I told him there was nothing wrong with wanting to be more then just a seeker of justice. He agreed he wanted to be something more.

I took it as he was becoming something more complex. Just because he wanted to feel love doesn't make him a demon, like he said we live in this world where we deal with all these things, not every mortal who wants love falls into lust or desire, in such a way the demon is portrayed

I think both he and Anders lost their light when the Warden left and the Templar arrived. I am saying this under the idea the Warden was kind to both(as mine was).

I think Justice just needs to find that beauty in the world that he saw when he was with the Warden, and he will/is become something else entirely. Something rather beautiful too I think.

This is something I keep thinking about and want to bring up: during Awakening, Justice got significant character development, from black and white shouty Justice to someone more reasoned and willing to stop a moment and think... and all of that development went out the window in DA2. I wish that the development and regression had been explained or referenced or addressed in some way.

I agree that what Justice was becoming in Awakening didn't seem demonic at all... rather it seemed mortal, or human. One of my favorite themes in literature is the idea that there are evil forces and good forces, and then there's humanity, which is neither good nor evil, but represents "team free will." I got the impression in Awakening that Justice was coming over to team free will. He was becoming something interesting and beautiful, but all the complexity there was cast aside for DA2. This is why, in my headcanon, Anders (with or without Hawke) goes to find the Warden after the game. Of course, in my mind, if Alistair tells the Warden that he met Anders, she grabs him by the collar and shouts "WHERE?" and runs to look for him. Because what happened to him should not happen to her people, and she feels like she needs to fix this.

I need to replay Awakening... but I'm doing a cross country move in a month or so, so I don't have tiiiime.

And in the theme of reposting things from previous pages:

Unf. I like the idea that Anders was slightly heavier and more muscled in Awakenings, and got much thinner between games. That's another reason the canon timeline bothers me, (but I don't want to get into that discussion.) In my mind, in the tower he was always keeping fit, because he needed to be able to run, climb, and swim well to do his escapes properly. He would have had plenty of time to do that, while in Kirkwall he's pretty much always either healing someone, helping Hawke, helping mages, or sleeping, so he doesn't have time to work out, and starves himself down to lean muscle.

Add to that he probably can't afford the amount of food his gray warden appetite demands.

He moves in with Hawke and eats all her food. Problem solved. I mean Hawke is basically rich after the deep roads expedition, you'd think she'd offer up a coin or two to the people who she drags along on her adventures.
