Truly, I love the Alistair cameos. All of them. The Warden one is hilarious as well. But the best bit in the King cameo is where he introduces "sort of Teagan, my uncle."
Teagan: I am actually Teagan, I'm only sort of his uncle.
Ah, DA:O, you made us smile rather than weep buckets of tears.
My Hawke was very much the 'Do I have to get involved with this? I didn't sign up for this! I only killed the Arishok because no one else war around...' type. Unfortunately, I couldn't leave and the Elthina option died with her.

After Anders I could romance Alistair, betray him at the landsmeet and call for his execution and be unmoved. Give Fenris to the Magister. Etc etc.

. . . Ouch. For realsies, that would've earned him a smackdown from my Lady rogue. She was pretty neutral on the mage/templar issue, despite wanting her sister back and her boyfriend to stop beaing so crazy, but Meredith's insistence on bringing up the fact that Leandra was killed by a mage had her ready to knife the Knight Commander in public.

My home was right next door to Viscounts keep. I just assume it survived. Ok maybe a busted window or two. And a Suspicious puddle where the dog was...oh and another where Sandal was but otherwise it's safe.

Like when she decides to kill a Champion who has been her number one supporter the whole game because she's suspicious at your rise to power even though she's the one who first called you Champion? Or when Cullen then says that he thought they were only going to arrest the Champion? If Hawke sides with the mages, I can see this. If she sides with the templars but is a mage, I can see that. What in the world is her logic for arresting a non-mage Meredith-supporter?MelfinaofOutlawStar wrote...
Ryzaki wrote...
@Veritrix: No why would I? It makes sense.
He wasn't going to sit by and let you slaughter innocent people.
I might side with the templars more often if Meredith's logic wasn't so assbackwards.
An apostate blows up the Chantry so I'm going to anull the Circle.
...I have no proof the Circle had any ties to said apostate...
...I don't try to arrest said apostate...
...I don't try to kill said apostate...
Nope. Just gonna ignore the apostate who blows up the Chantry and go after the circle.
I headdesked so hard I think my skull cracked.
I don't know why everyone tries to pick apart Meredith's logic. There is none. Everyone says she was under the influence of the idol and becoming increasingly paranoid and daft. You beat your head for nothing.
THERE IS NONE. SHE IS CRAZY.

I don't know that I could play through this game other than a male mage going after Anders. I had hoped to play a female warrior and court the women, but -- It's just like DA:O. I can't get away from the queer mages. Here's hoping that, if they make a DA3, I can still play a mage that's sexually interested in other men. Or else I'm going to be out of a character.

Is it that hard? In what context would talking about the 'ecstasy' of fulfilling Justice's purpose be infinitely creepier. Think about it.
This is the internet, I thought I wouldn't have to... elaborate.
They need to think long and hard about it.
I'm starting to think I'm the creepy one here, because I don't see any creepiness
I dunno, I think Anders talking about the 'ecstasy of fulfilling justice' right after/during sex with Hawke would be kind of disturbing. But then I was mildly . . . weirded out by/felt awkward about Anders' battle cry of "Suck on a fireball."
I paused the game and proceeded to laugh my ass off for a good minute after I heard that. Yet again, he doesn't come with a fire spell D:
Yeah, it kinda confused me, since he never got fire spells in my play through: just ice and electricity. Also, one of the lines about feeling Justice's burn was pretty effin hilarious and made it impossible to take that scene seriously.

Cassandra interrogates Varric in Hawke's house, so I assume it the blast didn't affect it too badly.

Yeah, I paused the game too, and went "...wait, Anders, you STILL don't have a fire spell. That had better not be a bad euphemism..."
And then I eventually gave him a fireball spell because he was so obviously begging for one.

This is because I didn't know at that point she was insane. I thought she was just overzealous.
Idol or not it's pretty incredible that everyone else goes along with this like it's okay. No one other than Cullen and Carver (and this is only at the gallows) questions this.
No one other than Orsino goes "wait...what?"

He's actually much nicer about it if you're not a mage. He says something about how Meredith's not going to give you a hug when this is all over and that she'll probably turn on you and when you say you're protecting your home, he bitterly points out that it's him she now thinks she needs to protect it from.Ironic Discordia wrote...

As a mage, he says he thought you would have changed your mind because you're a mage and an apostate but that never stopped anyone from being a fool. And apostates don't have homes, only hiding places. Not like Hawke really put much effort into that, but still.
I can tell why he'd be much more pissed at mage!Hawke. He doesn't expect much support from non-mages but his own people helping to commit mage-genocide?
It was awful but it was for research purposes. I then reloaded and actually let him live to complete the romance to make up for it.

Mine
too. She is literally only involved in all this because for some
weird reason the Arishok got all attached to her while she went about her
mercenary/freelancer business. Her reaction to Act 3 is literally "O_O... guys, you do realize I am in no way qualified to mediate this, right? And I don't really care?"

I don't think I'm that badly ruined, but I'm pretty close. I can never do the meanest things to companions, even if I don't like them much. But yes, Anders has ruined me. He has FAR surpassed Alistair in my book, who was previously my favorite LI.

I was just hoping he'd learn from Sebs example and not challenge Hawke.
I admire Anders's resolve to defend mages, as crazy and righteous as he is. I wouldn't have him any other way. Besides, letting Hawke side with the Templars to kill the mages would have defeated every single reason why he blew up the chantry and started the war in the first place.

In DA2? Definitely. Playing my Fenris-romancing rogue I was just thinking "I wanna go back to my first playthroooough. Meh at all this other stuff."
DAO the emotional impact wore off already so I can't really say. I have a lot of difficulty sending Fenris away with Danarius (and probably won't ever do a playthrough where I do it for keeps), but I don't think it has as much to do with Fenris himself as much as the idea of turning in an escaped slave to their former master. I couldn't do that even if I despised Fenris, lol.
But Anders was a special kind of gutpunch, I have never been so happy to be so utterly sad

Stupid question, but isn't there a way to get a spirit/demon out of someone's head? I remember exoricising the demon out of Connor in Origins. Couldn't the same thing be done with Anders?
Nobody knows. His circumstances are more unique compared to Connor's. He seems to think there's no way and that they are both one, but some moments in the game make me think that's not that case.

Kaya Hawke would be all for it. She wants Justice to participate more in their relationship. Unfortunately, I'm guessing the most action Kaya gets with him is killing templars.Catt128 wrote...
