Thornton didn't have the heart to hit him, he let Varric and Bethany do it. ;_;

I miss Alistair.
Alistair, Awakening!Anders, Isabela and Zevran all needed to be in the same game. The world would of ended.
I would go for DA2 Anders, but yes...Zevran, Isabela, Alistair, and Morrigan for me. Literally characters I just die for.
It would be biitchy jokes, sex jokes, and self-righteous jokes all in one delicious package.
All of my top favorite characters right there if I had to choose.

Oh man, I did the same thing. I just stood there while Carver and Varric were like "Calm your ******, bro"... with their weapons.

I grew up with a bratty brother and a bunch of snarky, irritating dude friends, whereas I always wanted a little sister to take care of. So for me, Carver is boring and Bethany is exciting and new. Honestly this is the first time I can remember being able to play a female character who has a little sister, so that's refreshing too (it may also explain why a lot of the M!Hawke guys prefer Carver so much... there are tons of games where you play a dude with a cute little sister, because Japan.)
Yeah, I love the F!Hawke/Bethany dynamic so much. And Legacy is filling me with happiness because of it.
And I also sat out the Anders fight. And then felt bad for Varric.

I like them both, myself. ^^ I like how it changes who my Hawke is. I mean, of course Hawke grows up with both of them, but the Blight is a changing experience for everybody so having the sweet baby sister left over to protect or having the little brother struggling to live up to expectations and be his own man, will make a difference who Hawke is.

The reason you want Awakening!Anders is that he would totally have sex with you and Zev. Maybe after a few years, DA2 Anders lightens up about that, but the fact that Anders chases him away was disappointing. I have this evil thought that Anders has a kind of seen-it-all attitude about sex, and Zevran would totally blow his tiny little mind. Circle hookups and a few nights at the Pearl would not necessarily prepare someone for "assassin nymphomaniac raised in an Antivan ****house."

Heh. My life was the reverse. My younger brother and I were inseparable partners in crime while my twin sister was my bitterest rival. Oddly enough, now that we're grown, I still love my brother dearly, but it's my sister and I that have the hours-long conversations and the weekends where we play games, cook for each other, and watch Hercule Poirot movies. And this is the same woman that used to seduce my boyfriends, steal my term papers the night before they were due, and generally sabotage my life. And I prefer Carver because my life with Bethany/RL-brother was always kind of comfortable but dull, but my life with Carver/RL-twin-sister alwaysrather confrontational, but rewarding. Sometimes, that was because she challenged me to become a better person... better than her, anyway... and be honorable and good and all those things that teach life lessons and all. And now that we're grown and we don't have to live with each other anymore, I'm finding out that we had more in common than I thought, despite our differences.CulturalGeekGirl wrote...

I'd rather get it on with Isabela as my LI and Zevran, it just fits more. That, and I played DA2 first so I kind of prefer Anders personality in that game more, though I definitely wouldn't be opposed to him lightening up a lot more like he was in Awakenings. Yeah, idk. It's hard to say. Awakenings Anders is really funny. Kind of sad to see how different he is now.

I'm pretty sure you meant Anders/Varric/Carver there.
I missed this. I see what you did there...and even though I was responding to a specific person, I absolutely meant Bethany. It's more interesting to me to have that relationship go south because of a decision Hawke made. Consequences and all that.
On topic:
The lighting in the beginning is pretty flattering.

Snarky Hawke's reaction there is just the best: "I can't take you anywhere." Then she smacks Anders around with her sword a little bit. I imagine their anniversary dinners in Hightown go much the same way.

But I was most glad to have Bethany there. With my sarcastic Hawke. *does Carver jig*
Is there an actual jig involved? I saw someone mention this in another thread, too. Circle Bethany was pretty boring with my Snarky Hawke.

There's the beginning of a jig. It's kind of hilariously out of the blue, too.

Anders: "Love... not to make judgments about your magpie tendencies, but... what is that?"
Hawke: "Can't you tell?" *grins*
Anders: "Is that..." *sniffs* "Ugh! Discolored bile! What in Andraste's name did you pick that up for?"
Hawke: "Well, excuse me. Hubert will buy it, I'm sure." *tucks it into shirt*
Anders: "Like you tricked him into buying the stale biscuits and the torn trousers?"
Hawke: "Exactly!"
