I thought there were a lot of really nice moments with Anders in the DLC. I felt that the developers really took their time with this one.

Did anyone else feel like at times they went out of their way to acknowledge your romance? A statement here, a word there, some banter, etc. I thought it was a really nice touch.

With Anders, anyway. I haven't yet imported any of the characters that have romanced anyone else, so don't know if the other companions got as much attention.

Apparently Fenris gives no **** about romanced Hawke.

Sadly true. All 4 of the other LIs do have romance-specific dialogue, though.

He talks with a non-romanced Hawke after Malcolm's sidequest, too. So that's not a romance specific thing, just an Anders being awesome for Hawke thing.

Hm, now I rather wish I hadn't taken Carver. Friggin' Carver, c*** blocking me.

Although now that I think on it, my husband didn't get a dialogue with Anders, either, despite Bethany being dead. His "afterwards" talk was with Gamlen, which was sorta hilarious. Does anyone know how/why you get the Anders talk, and what he says?

Edit: Nevermind, I think we're talking about different parts. Ah well.

Now that I've romanced all four romances on various playthroughs, I can honestly say I liked Fenris' the least. Except for the last conversation you have with him that "completes" the romance, I thought it was much more trouble than it was worth romancing him.

But that's just me. I'm sure others liked it fine.

Yeah, it wasn't too bad. I assumed Gamlen was the default if your sibling was dead, or you hadn't taken them. Hm. Anyone else get a conversation at the end with anyone other than your sibling or Gamlen?

The templar Carver line about why he doesn't go after Anders is suppose to change based on if Anders is romanced or not.

Not specific to Anders, but Varric only says Hawke isn't a virgin if you've gone through a romance.

I've only seen this in the talk table, and never heard it in game. Hawke is suppose to ask why Varric's been telling rumors about whoever is Hawke's LI. Varric says for Anders: "As it happens, I haven't said a word about you and Blondie. I'd look at that uncle of yours for this particular rumor." 

There's another line somewhere that I've never heard, but looks like an Anders line. "You should find someone else, love. You don't want all the ugliness I'm going to bring into your life."

This is consistent with Varric's omission of "everyone, except for Anders." Which has made me lose all interest in playing this through with my warrior.

Odd that he breaks up with Hawke without saying anything during the last convo during The Last Straw. Ah well.

I never rivalmanced Anders. If you rival-mance him, the game acts as if you broke up? Really?

Huh. I never knew. That seems kinda harsh, though perhaps understandable.

Edited: Or bugs. Bugs make more sense.

wow, the dev/writing team was thorough. these situation-specific references are well thought-out and well-placed.

and really, what do you expect from anders if you screw him over that badly

It made me think of Hawke having a wanted poster up in the Templars' quarters in the Gallows right next to a picture of Anders.

Ah I got that dialogue with my aggressive Hawke. It's not romance specific. (though hearing him get all PBB was funny). 

On the note of the key in Legacy. Do I have to have it equipped or do I only need to keep it in my inventory? I have better modded weapons (and better looking) that I'd prefer to use.

Hope I don't mess up this post - long time lurker and first time poster, struggling a little with the bbcode in an alien environment
I really enjoyed Legacy. I completed it in late Act 3 with Warden!Bethany, Friendmance!Anders and Isabela - mainly because I was greedy for chests and not so much because I prefer Isabela over Varric (although it's a close thing).

I much enjoyed the character interaction in Legacy, although there were little oddities like; why does Bethany care that Anders is hearing voices in his head but Hawke, who is living with him atm is all "yeah, whatever, great weather we're having lately?".

I also agree with the other posters that it would have been greatly appreciated to be able to speak to Anders about what you discover at the end. Surely the very idea the Chantry may have had a point is so shocking to him that once he's had the time to mull it over he'll have something interesting to say about it.

Still, I much appreciated the chance to interact with my favourite companions more. Next PT I will be bringing Varric instead of Isabela and I'm sure that'll make it even better.

Varric definitely adds some good dialogue to Legacy. And he also tries to help Anders a little when the poor guy is freaking out. Oh, plus he elicits the adorable "Hawke's cute" banter.

Yes, I did a tiny bit of Legacy with Varric, and I must agree the Hawke is cute thing is fantastically cute. I also have to completely agree with whomever it was upthread that said that Awakening!Anders would've said something about Hawke not being a virgin. Once I'd read that it felt like a major gap in the dialogue for Anders not to reply to it at all.

much to my ****ing irritation. ONE ****ING LINE. And not even a line. An aggressive action. "Rawr" is about as equivelant.




I -get- that maybe there was this conversation between him and Varric  "Don't, varric. I will stick my hand in your chest and then there will be no story to tell".

I'm running through the DLC again right now (Until some centipede type thing with super long legs ran across the wall which I squealed and ran to my mom and woke her up to kill it. I refuse to go back in there right now. I am a 19 year old who can't kill bugs to save my life. :| They scare me.) And Anders and Hawke had some banter, at first I thought it was just them making fun of Carver till I realized they were talking about Carver as if he wasn't in the party, asking if she'd gotten any letters from him. |: That really bothered me for some reason, I was waiting for Carver to butt in and say something.

I wish I could find a video of the ending of Malcom's Will with Warden Carver and Hawke, the interaction between them if you choose the middle option made me laugh... right before that bug crawled across my screen.
