~Alright, to celebrate the occasion, have a continuation of the Anderstian epic. When last we saw our heroes, they had just passed out of the necroboner forest and into the town of Andersbutt. There they met Aveline and she joined their quest to save the Anders princesses from the Circle Tower.~
The Hawke twins and their merry band of misfits started off into the dewy morning, quickly leaving the tiny village of Andersbutt behind. Since they were in no hurry, most decided to go on foot and give the Alicorns a break. Aveline was practically dragging Wesley along by his reins. The horse seemed liable to fall over dead at any moment, but everyone knew better by now than to mention that to the guard captain. The Alicorns were happy to be able to walk freely, but they lacked that extra spring in their step that they got whenever they were being ridden. They grazed by the side of the road as they walked, occasionally passing doleful looks at Marian and Garrett. Marian was completely oblivious as all her attention was currently on Isabela and Merrill.
Garrett tried his hardest not to listen to whatever his sister was saying to the scantily clad woman. Every so often a wild burst of giggling would travel up to him where he marched at the front of the group. He tried to pretend they were talking about innocent, boring girl things, but Merrill the squirrel's repeated, scandalized squeaks of,
“Isabela!” broke that illusion. He would have to do something else to block them out.
“So, Fenris, we must be getting close to the Circle tower where they're holding the princesses by now,” he said. “Have you changed your mind about killing them all?”
“No,” the tattooed wolf growled.
“That's it? Just 'no'?” Garrett asked, exasperated by the short answer.
“Yes.”
Garrett sighed. “Not all princesses can be so bad. Certainly they're not all as bad as the princess that kept you as a pet all those years ago,” he reasoned. “Look at Merrill. She seems fine enough.”
Just then Merrill chirped, “I don't get it. You did
what with her? That's not supposed to go in there. Or is it? Is it?”
Garrett slammed his fingers into his ears. He really didn't want to know if the 'her' in this story was his sister. The last thing he needed to hear was bawdy stories about his sister. It had been bad enough watching her throw herself all over FabAnders.
