he's literally possessed by a tevinter magister. magisters have little issue summoning shades, as we see a billion times throughout da2.

if you doubt the possession, anders says later on click, "i fear what that emissary can make me do." he's possessed, and the thing possessing him made him summon shades and fight his boyfriend/girlfriend. pretty simple.

It was made easier with the taint yes? Then why doesn't Beth ever have problems? Shouldn't it be harder with Anders as he has Justice with him?

meta answer, your sibling has a 1/6 chance of being bethany and a warden.

in-game answer, justice likely makes anders more susceptible to possession. why should it be harder? justice is corporeal now, part of anders, the taint's corrupted him too.

actually, thinking about it now, depending on the metaphysics of darkspawn, that could actually account for some interesting stuff re:justice vs vengeance.

I guess I'm still in denial about Justice. I refuse to believe he is gone or turned into a demon himself.

But sadly all we see is Posted Image Janders all glowy mad.

I want to talk to Justice and calm him down! Where is my warden, she could do it.

Even if the odds are low that Beth/warden would get possessed, she still should mention hearing something or react in someway I would think. It just makes Anders look even weaker with even more chances to *attack/betray* us when we are trying to help him. And then there is warden Carver...ah well.

I think Anders has some banters in Legacy that are not firing that would support what happened.

Except Corypheus isn't actively possessing anyone.  Whatever he's doing, it's unconscious, akin to the Old Gods' effect on darkspawn.  It could very well be that Justice's presence amplifies whatever effect regular warden mages feel, though.  Of course Anders is afraid of what Corypheus can make him do.  He'd probably be feeling the same way if he was walking that close to an archdemon, too.  Other mages without his possession problem were already driven to do odd things like hunt down the Key and free the damn thing or plunge to their deaths to escape.

I'm leaning toward the idea that Justice can call spirits on his own and he's lashing out at whatever's nearby because he and Anders are being threatened.  He's totally not used to dealing with psychic attacks, I'll wager.  Calling shades is probably more an act of desperation than anything else.  On his own in Awakening, Anders could implant a spirit in a corpse (if you had him learn that spell) and it was under the spirit tree, nothing to do with blood magic.  The end effect still worries me, though.

I'm enjoying Hawke's OOOOH, BABY when Anders talks about the things inside him. OH HAWKE. You are so inappropriate at all times. XD

(I'm assuming Lady Hawke doesn't get that line, lol. I didn't, anyway... though I didn't get the 'you should find someone else, love' line, either. Pfft, as if, Anders.)

Also, Carver perving up the Chant of Light = win.

Seb: :pinched:Don't do that to the Chant!

My Anders-romancing Hawke missed that banter. Do the banters trigger at specific spots or is it random? Can you just run back and forth like with the Orzammar bridge?

Some of the videos I seen it seems to have a specific trigger point yup.

I could sift through these pages, or I could ask my fellow fanders if Legacy is worth buying. Any good Anders moments? I heard Fenris romance got slighted ... so does that mean there's Anders romance stuffs? :D

Legacy is awesome.

Anders gets a ton of good stuff and the romance is mentioned a few times. It's, by turns, adorable and heartbreaking.

Worried comment at beginning, mentions of the romance in party banter; Hawke gets called "love" a couple times. :)

And it's totally worth buying even without all that, especially if you're interested in the Hawke family. Things change if you play it in different acts. I can't wait for my Warden Carver playthrough.

Also, new areas.

I think there's a feedback thread in the registered owners forum, but there might be spoilers in there.

But mostly you should buy it because you can pick up a set of Grey Warden armor for Hawke.

is that a real question?

it was BRILLIANT, oh my god. the party banter is wonderful, the story and lore are fascinating, the combat is less frustrating and more intuitive, it's long and meaty, there's an absolute ****load of anders romance dialogue, and anders along with varric and sibling easily have the most personal content. he's got a whole subplot that's pretty great.

Adorable and heartbreaking, just like Anders himself.  All that, and significant lore, if you're into all that (I know I am!)

Overall, a great buy.  Blows any Origins DLC out of the water, imo.  Lots of replayability, too, if only to see what different companions say in certain places.

I wish Justice did call up spirits. Imagine Valor showing up to aid Justice. But Demons? Justice hates demons to this day.

I still want to take him to task for it...but alas.

Is there more to the Anders part than just the whole Justice freaking out and attacking us? Like, as far as that goes?

there's a ton of dialogue foreshadowing it, and he talks a lot about his warden days, the mindsets of wardens, the revelation of how it's as deep a part of him as justice, etc. he's got a lot to say that all plays into the justice bit.

given the scope of the dlc (read: it's a three-hour thing with a primary focus on hawke), anders' part is pretty substantial.

Okay. I'm gonna buy the bioware points...you guys have convinced me. lol, I can just download it straight from the main Legacy webpage right?

Who should I take? I've been hearing Varric, Warden Sibling, Anders are most important?

Edit- I already spoiled myself by seeing that cutscene where he goes all Justice nuts, so that's why I was curious. I also watched a few of the Family Endings. Hah, but I tend to always watch/read spoilers.

varric's dialogue will supersede some of anders' dialogue, but he's also very important to the dlc and you'll get a super cute romance banter. sibling will also supersede one romance moment, but the sibling banter is well-done so you shouldn't miss it. also, your sibling interaction is different depending on whether you're in act 1 or 3, and which path they went on. templar carver is my favorite sibling path to take in legacy, because he's such a little **** and his banters with isabela and anders are hilarious.

act 3 absolutely nets you the best dialogue. i'd recommend an act 3 run with sibling, varric, anders, and then another act 3 run with anders and whoever else you like excluding varric and sibling. there's a TON of party banter and it's all wonderful.

edit: and if your sibling is dead you get to hear gamlen talk about watermelons and testicles and that's always a plus in my book

Ohh, huh. I thought people were saying it was better in act 2. But yeah I have a save in Act 3. I saw how Hawke like imagines her mom at the fireplace at the end, that was sad :/

Has anyone uploaded videos of the different endings? I only played once, using a post-campaign save (which I assume still takes place before the ending, chronologically) and got the talk with Carver and ghost mama.

early act 3 has better sibling dialogue and i think sometimes anders' romance dialogue won't all trigger on act 2

Oh, I only have a like...late act 3 save..like right before I leave the house for the Last Straw. Hm, unless I still have the first autosave for Year 7...

you probably do have the autosave, i do on my main file. i'm not sure what the consequences are for doing it so early, but it'll probably be jarring at the very least. i think some stuff doesn't fire.

more on-topic, i'm not at all convinced it was solely justice defense mechanism-ing out on hawke et al. i suppose i can see where people get that idea, but janeka is perfectly willing to try and kill you under corypheus' influence as well.
